An extremely good guitar player. First time I've seen a Fender Jaguar BTW. She plays it like mixing a rhythm guitar and melodic solos at the same time. Impressive. And without much effort..
Snail Mail's sound also reminds me of some 80s-era music: the jangly guitars of Johnny Marr's Smiths and Peter Buck's REM, and the melancholy nature of the music is very post-punk as well as some 90s influence.
she clearly looks like she prepared for this, she knew this was going to be a big show for her because she was being recorded and lot of people would watch
Her singing is so exceptional, but I always thought that she was trying to hear herself as she was singing? Idk if that's the case but she just seems like she's thinking of something that's wrong while she sings the lyrics, even though she has an awesome voice. Could be a stage presence thing but she needs to know that she's a knockout, I wanna see her dance the way my bandmates and I dance to playing on this same song haha

Yeah, love Broadcast. A good band T used to seem really rare and hard to find. Back in the 90s, I would treat such shirts like gold. Now, with all the many ways to find such things on the internet, and so many people making fan murch, not so unique anymore.
oh my god, she’s this insane mixture of Cobain and Courtney Love. i completely love the rushed, loud, sarcastic energy and sound in this performance. she really has a great stage presence and she is a really good guitar player! love the crowd too here lol. 🐌!
I hope they've got some time off from touring. It seems that they have but who knows maybe this was just an especially interesting performance. Also it's nice to see her doing the song in a different way because that means she's still personally invested enough to keep it interesting for her.
@@NickHarman all bands will always have that one song which they'll have to play on every performance, it's like Oasis with Wonderwall, actually Liam and Noel keep playing it as solo artists lol
I love her stage presence these days. She looks like she enjoys being there. Let's hope for years and years of albums and tours.
What about the rest of the band?
@@koreanfriedchildren also amazing but they're not really a band lol, Snail Mail is a solo project

yup, personally I've never seen other band who plays the guitar like this, very unique and fun to listen, Sonic Youth comes close probably
Her playing reminds me of Johnny Marr, where she's playing chords but always adding melodic elements. She's seriously talented
Sounds so much better than her live performances from ~1 year ago! Now we need some new material
Not as good as early 2018 though.
At the start of this tour she played/tested 2 new songs. So it's in the works.
love her debut, but totally agree with you it sounded really bad last year.
Better certainly but she's still making the band work hard to accommodate her mistakes
its bc she dyed her hair 🤣🤣
The most 90's sounding music comes from a kid who was born at the end of that decade... awesome!!
Snail Mail's sound also reminds me of some 80s-era music: the jangly guitars of Johnny Marr's Smiths and Peter Buck's REM, and the melancholy nature of the music is very post-punk as well as some 90s influence.
This one is purposely written in the style of Sonic Youth's "Incinerate"
it's called pastiche and it's garbage
@championchap the truth hurts, bud
@@mskcrc You're straight trash
I'm glad to see she has improved substantially from earlier live performances, specially playing at the full tempo from the album version.
she clearly looks like she prepared for this, she knew this was going to be a big show for her because she was being recorded and lot of people would watch
Its amazing cause the studio versions proved that they always could play to the correct tempo. Was it a band creative decision to just not?
Her singing is so exceptional, but I always thought that she was trying to hear herself as she was singing? The way she sings and plays and most importantly how she feels, It just gets to me.
I think the best thing about this is how tight the rhythm section are with all the improvised stops!
Her voice has improved a lot from last year

Einzelmiratz Last year she sounded really tired and she held these really long out of tune notes
This is pretty good though
She decided to use in-ears. Now she can hear herself when she's up there and control them vocals.
She's a good guitar player, excited to see what's coming from her.
she is definitely not a good guitar player, don't set the bar that low

Was blessed to see Broadcast perform in New Orleans back in 03. Transcendental show
Wow I'm impressed at this one after watching so many live videos of this song
"Let's find out" and "Slug" also sounded sick in this performance
i love her voice
sounded good compared to other shows, but her 2017 voice was the best, when she still didn't drink that much or smoke lol
Her song writing and phrasing always reminds me of Kurt’s . Like a less angry nirvana. Love snail mail. Y’all the best
Has a little Courtney love in her voice as well.
Wow, I have the same thoughts! :)
Not even close.
