First time i heard the song Pristine, I was kinda like, "whats the big fuss about here?". But then I found myself returning to it and it growing on me. Then I clicked on this and I'm getting the buzz a bit more. Really enjoying it and they seem like fun, genuine, and talented youngin's. Good on ya, Snail Mail!
Exactly, the first time I was like “ah is good but not a masterpiece” but then as I kept listening to it more I started to realize how damn good it was, then I listened to heat wave and that was it, I became addicted to her music, definitely one of the greatest indie rock artists I’ve listened so far, she is really amazing, incredibly talented
@ONTHEFLOW i was not really into the new album either at first but now i really like it, it’s actually amazing, even better than lush IMO, yeah as a rock fan, songs like headlock, forever sailing didn’t catch too much my attention at the beginning and now they’re like among my fav ones, they’re really good, sometimes you just have to open a little bit more your mind and not only stick it to one genre of music
The arena rock is dead, thank you very much, Snail Mail, Dilly Dally and so many other indie bands that are bringin' the soul and simplicity back to rock and roll.
the lyrics she writes are so raw and messy but in a beautiful way, it almost feels like a poetryslam just sung with guitar and drums. She's so amazingly talented and fresh and unique!!
@@cesaradrianer I can sort of see where they're coming from. Cranberries = poppy female vocals, laid back song structures. Sonic Youth = very expressive & technically impressive guitar playing. You're right though they really don't actually sound like those bands beyond that.
I love how real they can be. It’s hard to find that in upcoming musicians today. Not all of them, but some of them tend to think that because of the fact that they are on camera, they can be like “Yeah, I’m totally awesome.” I really genuinely love this band. Just amazing.
Please have them back on soon, i watch this once a week and id love to see and hear her improvement through the amazing audio engineering of Audiotree!
I've found my new favorite band. Hoping there's more out there. Just as I was getting jaded about finding new(to me) music, I stumble across Snail Mail.
Stumbled over this band via radio, and rarely have I heard something that real and strikingly beautiful, like a manifestion of a raw and wonderful feeling from days long gone. Like when you wrote your first lovenote to a girl and you just had to do it, because otherwise your head would have had exploded, and your feelings, nervousness and vocabulary competed in an weird, self neglecting competition to express yourself in the worthiest way possible. The raw and humble appreciation of just existing, being there, feeling something for someone, for everything that life has to offer. Hard to describe, but this music throws me back there and it is overwhelmingly (brutally) good, full of hope and appreciation for everyhting, even the sad things. Whatever might come, whatever your goals are and whether you achieve them or not, you just know that their pursuit is worth it. Freedom; a real, humble, authentic and amazing sort of freedom to believe in good things for the sake of it and not being afraid of anything. Thanks a million for this flashback, even if I totally missed my exit on the highway though, I haven`t felt that much alive in years, you definitely got a new fan over here!
The advise at 36:58 really touched me. Whenever I wanna something I'm really concert of what people would think about it, specially when it's music 'cause at the end you actually want to hear what people think about that and that has limited me on doing things. But, as she said, apart from caring about what other would think, I should do the thinks that I like just for the sake of liking the action of doing them.
I sam them at Meow Wolf a few months after this and was completely blown away. I went up to Lindsey after and was like, "how old are y'all??". She'd just turned 18, totally insane
I fucking love these guys 😭😭 so amazing I get super sensitive when I listen to music and i've cried multiple times listening to them. just beautiful!! the future is now
This is by far her best vocal performance. They ALL K I L L E D this studio sesh.
shes an unreal guitar player.
its insane..saw them live. She has the lightest hands and just makes it look easy as hell
Discovering Snail Mail and Beach Bunny is going to save this summer and make my memories stick in my head forever.
yep, now I'm going to both their concerts this year :)
Seeing snail mail today and beach bunny next month
Yo, i discovered both of them in the past year and fuckin love it. Cheers homie!
That transition from dirt into slug was just fucking KICK ASS
gets me every time
Oh Yea!! So smooth...
So good!
For real!
witewy
That transition into Slug 😭👌🔥
Saul - Un3arth1yGalaxy4
yeaah.
I feel like that transition should be illegal for how good it made me feel.

Reminds me of how Title Fight would transition songs live.

peeps like you make the world go round
Mallowmari
God bless you
Thank you Danny devito
Lindsey’s voice is so raw and real. The rasp, the breaks, everything about it is so good. And such a tight band, those guys are on top of it.
more than 2 years later and the transition from dirt to slug still has me 🥺
This version of “Slug” is absolutely incredible
yeah i ditched the studio version over this gem as soon as it came to spotify, btw the studio version has a different bass player and a drummer
In a three piece the drummer is critical and he nails it!
in a three piece, they're all critical lmao
everyone is critical in every band lmao
Drummers are probably the most underrated. I was in a mediocre band then when got a new drummer who was phenomenal and he elevated us 10 fold.
why in a three piece?
I agree. For example, blink-182 wouldn't have been who they were if not for the great style of Travis Barker
Why do these songs hurt my chest in the heart region

The best Snail Mail performance on the internet. Love these EP tracks.
Audiotree's audio peeps really know what they're doing. The mix sounds so good! Thank you for this.
The future of Rock n Roll is here. Stay optimistic rock heads. The zeitgeist music is on the horizon. Thanks NYT for your article who brought me here.
Ojashvi Chirag 😂
Sir, rock n roll is dead
Think you could link that article? Not sure if you'd remember now but I'm curious!

Still comes here once in a while to enjoy this lovely performance. Probably my favourite, taking everything in account ever.
i kept looking for a second guitar player then i realised it was all her. gawd damn
Jeremiah Fernandez
She plays like johnny marr, but could also sing at the same time... idk if this is real
THat is the Johnny Marr Jaguar guitar
she was heavily schooled in classical guitar
yeah it's hard to believe they're just 3
And she's young

Me too, something fresh that takes you back to the glory days

She’s got such a great touch on the guitar. Love that stripped down tone too.
Man, the emotion when she sings. I can feel it.

static buzz and stick are the reason i keep coming back to this session
anyone like this more than the album version?
tuscany does
I feel like the sound is so much more clear with the live version. They need to remaster “Habit” and that would be amazing.
Most. Some singular lyrics I adore the emotion used on the album version. It was vice versa though! Golly, I'm happy they exist.
yea fursure, this version sounds much more full. Ha, just realizing i'm replying to this a year later. Rock on Snail Mail!!
Habit uses probably home studio equipment so it's a bit thin and undefined
this is seriously my favorite EP ever
We need more music from Snail Mail !!
Have you listened to her new album? It's one of the best I've listened to recently
Holy crap, I've never been more glad for a UA-cam autoplay. New obsession discovered.
recorded mixed and performed beautifully

5:33 Slug
12:55 Thinning

I'm obsessed with this performance. It's all I've listened to this past week
This has got to be one of their best performances.
best band ive discovered in a long time. thank you audiotree.
Its like the cranberries and sonic youth fucked.
Cameron Young accurate af lmao
this is the best description of this project i've ever heard. thank you.
Dude that’s so accurate haha
wtf? these kids sound nothing alike to any of those bands

I cried during static buzz I don't know why, and everyone is so adorable
katelynn bleh they make such beautiful music. Anytime made me cry the 1st time I heard it
I love you
I scream that song every time..usually with tears
Heard the group on a CD at a coffeehouse this morning. I was totally intrigued and asked who that was. That's what brought me here.
she's 2 weeks away from turning 18 here, and she's the complete package singer/guitarist/songwriter already
Best random click i had today. Did not regret stumbling at this video.
i love these live sessions because they show bands i love and i can discover new bands
Every song they have is so well written its actually insane how well put together this band is.
Man I loved this band, I'm a Metal Head but this actually caught my ears!! Faith in Good Music is Restored!!
S0 FREAKING G00D !! these kind of bands makes world a good place to live in.
leaving a comment for when these guys blowup
theyre just in highschool :< i hope to see more of them
the more I watch other drummers I realize how good Ray is...big sticks

He's a natural. His playing style is easy on the ears and eyes; meaning his motions are as smooth as his sound.
and it's so cute that he was inspired by School of Rock!
I just bought the session, wow. I wish I’d found this channel earlier. I love the chats between songs too.
Audiotree is great sounding, even as good as KEXP, which is high level. Congrats on this production, sounds f'ing awesome!
such a cool band, found these guys at just the right time while I'm going through teenage angst just like these guys are.
wow, what an awesome performance!! Lindsey is the coolest!!
Love the emotion with each word.
stick literally feels like the end of something it’s so perfect to end off with for something like this
Help. I can't stop listening it
Fantastic band. Finally a new indie band that doesn't have that overdone Mac Demarco vintage sound to them
Yeah they have different 60's guitars and sound like the 90's instead of whatever decade you think Demarco evokes :-P
they are no different from every other "dream pop" band
Look up flasher there great
I did wow thank you for the recommend
Name another band that sounds like them
The faces on each of em are so good. The belting, the bobbing, the banging.
One of my favorite bands. Can't wait to hear more from these guys.
love snail mail. love everything they're doing. this EP is so existential. can't wait to see what's next
what a great band...totally addicted to this set!!!
I'll wait as long as it takes for this Snail Mail!! aha . awesome performance and interview
she was meant to play and sing!!!!!
13:59
saw them few weeks ago. incredibly tight live. can't wait for lp.
I've been waiting for the return of The Sundays for many years, but it seems there are many young bands taking up their mantle. Gorgeous guitars.
What an amazing band. So glad I found them
Audiotree better be paying their engineers good money. Somebody like me might be able to steal them if they feel like they're not getting paid enough.
great sound & voice, cant wait to see them in DC!!
i love her so much. shes amazing
i love them so fucking much, their music is pure gold
what a genuine performance, I love all the people in this band

she really rocks. this version of thinning is really good. keep it up guys
they are so good live!!!!
these audio engineers are SOOO GOOOD!
"whats a flip cam?" 😭 fuck that made me feel old

I want that Jaguar!
Also, the drummer is super solid!
The Squier version sells for $300. I have it and it's great.
I can't believe I missed this 😢😢😢😢😢, honestly one of my favorite musicians
they covered my favorite song, also they like the office!!!!! 👻👻
if julien baker sang for pinegrove...
i love it
Ben Davies that’s pretty accurate haha
Much different tone then pinegrove tho
That’s a frickin’ matchup.
Nice name.
I think of Football etc, Rainer Maria
Them and Remo Drive are my new favorite indie bands
I feel like this drummer is holding back 99% of his power.
They really mailed this performance 😉
Fuckin snailed it

Can’t believe it’s been 7 years
Stunning!
i love lindsey so much
"Snail Mail is the lo-fi bedroom pop" wtf? she is way more indie rock than lo fi
Here you are again
the only release at that time for them was habit which was lo-fi in production (recording quality wasn’t too clean is all that lo-fi means rlly)
the songs on habit are all midwest emo and slowcore in my opinion
Your Mothers and Fathers have to be very proud! Just awesome.
love this band so much
