    The 911 GT3 market performed very well during last year. 996 Prices increased the most but topped recently, 997 prices are stable as ever, 991s recovered from a drop, and 992 are falling but at a decreasing rate.
    Given last weeks market analysis this is not a surprising results. We saw that sports and super car price trend are slowly returning back to their normal dynamics. One were old cars are losing less than new ones. In fact, depreciates rates flattened a bit in the most recent period. Going forward, it makes sense to expect falling prices, but at lower rates than during last year. Naturally, this is pure speculation .

    I think a big reason for 991.2 GT3's being so popular is the styling, which to me makes them the best looking GT3. The current 992's, besides having crazy dealer markups, are fussier looking with a cheap black plastic nose and a lot going on at the rear. Plus, not everyone is into the loss of real gauges being replaced by generic dash screens.

    991.2 is better than 992. Interior might not be as high tech, but 992 just feels too big. 996/997 is the perfect size but not as modern tech. 991.1 has the engine issues so 991.2 is the clear winner for me

      Fully agree, I daily a 991 GT3 Touring and intensively drove a 992 Touring as well. The 991 is the clear winner in terms of sound and emotion. Fits like a glove. I wouldn’t change for a 992 even the swap was free

    Well said and great analysis again.
    I feel the 992s started 50% up on MSRP, which was a silly, so they are just coming back to the correct price. I also feel that the floor will kick in soon when the .2's are announced then released as they will be much dearer (givent that a new GTS is now the price of a 1yr old GT3). Doesn't bother me, not selling anyway!
    Also the Macro environment is changing, maybe a soft landing in the US will help confidence, thus help prices.

    Regarding the 992. I think you forgot to mention that current MSRP is way lower than the price of the used cars and, together with the increased supply of new cars, this heavily affects the second-hand market. And so, there is no wonder why the prices are dropping and will continue to drop for 992.

  • @jimwyer4257
    @jimwyer4257 8 місяців тому

    Was it worth it? Probably. I looked up comps (comparable items) there are 2 ‘22 GT3 autos on piston heads (both lower mileage but that’s splitting hairs) £184k and £194k. Clean titles presumably. So, as a keeper, yeah, it was worth it. To sell on,maybe not as the salvaged title has a significant stigma. Although some might see it as a way to get more car than they can afford (at full market value) but that still means selllling at a discount. Well done that was impressive.

  • @RichardFermion
    @RichardFermion Рік тому +2

    I love your videos but I have to say the most frustrating thing about taking delivery of my 992 GT3RS is the constant questions about what I paid. It's been this way with every GT Porsche I have had an allocation for and I really wish people focused more on the car and how it drives rather than the market/speculation. They are great cars but the whole market dynamics of these things is annoying.

    • @samwisee
      @samwisee Рік тому +1

      Agree with you unfortunately unless Porsche makes more of them and depreciation actually kicks in this will only get worse. Also the performance envelop of the 992 GT3s are not helping either - you can hardly call the latest 992 GT3 RS a “track focus street car” anymore - it’s practically a cup car with carpets and infotainment. How many buyers out there are buying a GT3RS or heck even a 992 GT3 for street use when the cars are really not all that usable on the street anymore? The older 997 or even the 991 you can kinda access most of the car’s performance envelop on the street… up to a point. The latest one is so stupid capable I am not sure who would actually use them on the road

      @@samwiseei agree but I do have to say I am coming across many folks with GT Porsches who are solely using them on the street/cars and coffee. (which isn't my style but I'm not the kind to complain how folks use their car and money)

    • @samwisee
      @samwisee Рік тому +1

      @@RichardFermion yeah nothing wrong with it per say, my point was that with each new generation of GT3 / RS they are less fun to drive on the street so if you are mainly using it as a street car the older GT or the more street focused 911s are better bang for the buck. It’s how I would spend my money. Drove a 718 spyder recently and that car is probably about as “good” as it should be if you’re mainly driving it in the backroads and canyons, even then it’s kind of numb and too easy to drive when compared to my 997.
