Best Place to Swim with the Sardines:
Napaling Point in Panglao, Bohol is one of the few locations where you can swim with a shape-shifting school of sardines and local conservation efforts are being made. An underwater coral restoration laboratory has been set up for study and education and a no boating zone has been created to protect this natural wonder.
Rey, from Vesna Panglao conservation, will tell us more about one of the best scuba locations in the Philippines and about the sustainable tourism projects going on at Napaling Point.
Napaling Point may be known for its giant vortex of sardines but it has much more to offer. Its shallow reef has a large variety of hard and soft corals, and is great for snorkelers and underwater photographers, while the deeply sloping wall attracts freedivers from around the world. And now, Napaling is the home of a coral restoration laboratory.
    #Panglao #SardineRun #PhilippinesVLOG
If you are wanting to swim with sardines, Napaling Point in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines may be the best place. A giant vortex of sardines has been there, year-round for the past 3 years, and the shallow reef has a large variety of sea life as well as hard and soft corals.
The deeply sloping wall attracts scuba and freedivers from around the world. It’s easy to get to and right off the shore making it a great bucket list destination.
Swimming with the sardines is a bucket list experience. Expect to be blown away as you swim through the shape-shifting vortex of millions of fish. The sardines are harmless and you can swim in and out of the moving clouds as they separate and then gather back together.
Visibility is usually outstanding, sometimes up to 30 meters.
Maria Noella “Wei” Zosa - M’Ocean Freediving:
Wei Zosa is the deepest female competitive freediver in the Philippines and holds two national records. She is a yoga teacher, Freedive instructor, and trains here at Napaling. In this video, she tells us about the best place to train for freediving and freediving with the sardines.
    Best Snorkeling in the Philippines:
Napaling’s vibrant, shallow reef has little to no current. There’s lots to explore and even a beginner can experience swimming with the sardines.
Best Scuba Diving in the Philippines:
Scuba divers will enjoy exploring Napaling Wall. It stretches from 4 to 40m in depth with many holes, crevasses, overhangs, and caves.
    Best Freedive Training Location:
Competitive freedivers from around the world train at Napaling because of the warm water temperature and deep water, accessible right from shore.
    Sardine Season Philippines:
Sardine runs are seasonal many places but the Sardine run here in Panglao has been year-round for the last three years.
    #MoreFunInThePhilippines #MoreFunForever
Napaling now has an underwater coral restoration laboratory created by Vesna Panglao Conservation. To avoid damaging the coral, it’s important not to use sunblock when swimming near the coral and to avoid standing on or brushing against the coral.
    Getting to Panglao by Air:
Direct flights are available to Panglao from Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Angeles. And the Airport is about a 15-minute drive from the airport, and only 20 minutes from Alona Beach.
    Getting to Panglao by Sea:
There are ferry companies that offer trips from Cebu and Dumaguete to Tagbilaran. The cost is around 450 PHP per person, and the fast ferry takes two hours. From there, you can get to anywhere on Panglao by tricycle taxi for about 400 pesos.
    Swimming with Whale Sharks:
If you would like to swim with the whale sharks, A high-speed boat is available from Momo beach to Oslob, and only takes 90 minutes each way, making it an easy day trip and you can book a roundtrip, online ticket for ₱ 1,500.

@@LivingOverseasTV Thank you for answering. One last question: in situations where a place's in-house wifi is marginal, is the area cell service also typically bad? Or can one typically usually find a fast connection by tethering to a cell with a local SIM?

    • @LivingOverseasTV
      @LivingOverseasTV  4 роки тому +3

@@thatguy7119, Here in the Philippines, in the cities and towns, you can usually get good internet. As you get out to the beaches and amazing nature the internet is not very reliable. There are two main cell companies, Globe and Smart. Friends of mine that have to have internet for work, for backup, have a SIM card for each company and then they just purchase data for whichever card works best in the area they are traveling. I hope that helps.

Sharks usually don't attack humans. The great white sharks may attack humans but they don't exist in the Philippines. So sharks are not a problem in the Philippines. They are treated like the whale sharks or dolphins. A sight to behold in the deep sea.
