I've thought about grabbing one of these for awhile now. Thanks for the review! I like to buy the Beckers and strip the coating and replacing the handles. I have the BK9, BK7, and BK10 all modded up. Might do an 18 next!
Ive seen this blade but never pulled the trigger! Awesome review. I can say that kabar wrench knife is the fooking shit, havine one. Awesome neck knife. BK9, Space Force, Modified Tanto and the Wrench are the only 4 kabars in my collection. Wasnt Kabar was the reason Fuller started TOPS?
Not sure but I know he was not impressed with the knives he had when he served. If you get a chance look up the Tops daily grind podcast. The very first episode has Mr. Fuller on talking about the start of the company.
@@bigjayroadstar1700 saw that! Mike didnt call out the company making inferior knives as to the reason why TOPS was started. But given kabar was the supplier of such knives at the time to the military, i deduce TOPS was started because of kabar and the desire to continuous improve and make a better knife. My own deductions, lol. Guess we will never truly know. Take care J! -B
The slots and holes give you different ways to mount various clips , tek lock, and straps to accommodate how you want to carry the blade. Thank you for watching.
Being a big fan of Tops knives I was hesitant to get one but I'm glad I did. It's a great blade, and the sheath is very good. I did swap out the handle scales for the micarta scales and it's even better.
Ya got a fake one, the market has been totally saturated with noc offs. That paint is a dead give away its a powder coat on the real deal. ALSO yours is stamped wrong on one side. It should say "Olean , NY USA" its missing the USA text . The real sheath also has a plastic that kind of has a strange sparkle or texture to it . These brown ones seem to be the most copied of the two colors. The color is off compared to the actual Kabar Becker BK18. Im sorry man, so many people are getting ripped off.
I was going to buy one at my local Sportman Warehouse. They have the ones that don’t say USA and their website has note on that in the product description saying that’s how they come now but it’s still legit. I still didn’t buy it but definitely doing some research before hand
@knot05 I don't trust buying them from anyone other than legit established vendors. The fake ones are everywhere and are very close looking to the real ones. I'd speak with kabar directly ...All I know is mine, which is a few years old now, says USA . Also even after I stripped the powder coat, it still says Kabar Becker Olean NY USA . I'm willing to bet the fake ones are not Lazer marked. The Gerber Strongarm was easier to spot than these BK18s , it really sucks for kabars bottom dollar.

I was really surprised, it's the first becker I've bought. Thanks for watching!
You don't have to change factory scales. I just wrap its handle with a cheap & thin Decathlon Overgrip and It would become amazing in my hand.

the Knife Connection sells a variety of G10 and micarta scales for that knife , they are much nicer than the amazon ones.
First off thank you for watching, really appreciate that! Also thank you for the info, definitely going to look into that. Stay safe and sharp!
The scales shown on this knife are Becker .
I want to get one of these
