Modding my Hunting Knife - Becker BK18

  • Last year I got a Ka-Bar Becker BK18 because I think it can fill a duel role as a field knife, and as a hunting and skinning knife. Primarily due to the shape of the blade. As it comes though, it definitely needs a little TLC.

    Put about 10 coats of mustard and Tabasco sauce on it. It’ll look like it’s about 50 years old then.

    Lol, just like my brother, CAN'T HELP but take shit apart soon as he gets it... (me) "But Scott, what about those"... (him) "Aw hell, those screws didn't need to be put back anyway,"......"I can put that other part on later,... Literally. Since we were kids, and my Pop's brought home our first lawnmower.

    Did heating the vinegar ruine your heat treat?

      Nah I don't think so, it's like boiling water. No where near hot enough to ruin a heat treat. For that, I would think you'd have to heat the blade directly with a torch.
