You should definitely have more subscribers, high quality content! Everything explained professionally, I agree 100% with you about the price of Pikachu and like you said: "History has been a great teacher!"
Thanks for watching!! 😂 For better or for worse, market manipulation is a real thing in collectibles markets. I haven’t looked into the gold card myself but if your right it wouldn’t be the first time 😅
Thanks for watching till the end and welcome to Pokemon collecting! There’s no doubt pulling the Pikachu SIR would be a thrill and I’m sure it’s a beautiful card when you get your hands on it 😊 It’s just crazy how much some of these cards values can fluctuate when the set is short printed relative to demand, so hopefully my experience is helpful!! Have fun and good luck 😊
subcribed , you chill AF. I have Ticc Pikachu Psa10 and i'm not selling unless it's life changing money lol After moonbreon and rayquaza VMAX .. the thicc picachu is in my top 3.
Thanks so much for the support 🙏 I wouldn’t sell my thicc Pikachu either, if I had one 😭 To me, that rainbow rare Pikachu is iconic, even if it’s value has dropped a bunch over the years. Thanks again for watching!!
Great video, and I agree with the Pikachu comparison, but not so much on the set comparison. Vivid Voltage came out really only had the Pikachu as the chase and that was about it for the set. Surging Sparks has a lot of cards people like. I also think Surging Sparks has greatly amplified a natural market boom whereas I think Vivid Voltage just took part in an unnatural market boom.
Thanks for watching! I see what you’re saying and I agree that Surging Sparks offers a lot more and is, in my opinion, a far better set. But, I think both sets were strong sets for their time. In the case of Vivid Voltage, it was very quickly made irrelevant by the sets that followed. And with what we’ve been teased from Pokémon, I think there’s a very real possibility that happens again despite how much better the latest sets are compared to Vivid Voltage. That’s what I think anyway! Thanks again for watching and commenting, I appreciate it 🙇♂️
Maybe both? I'm just seeing it it stores from time to time, albeit ETB's not BB's. Reddit seems to have more 151 EN posts since a week or 3 surfacing too. I might be observing it in a wrong way, but the fact I can buy it right now, comparing to the drought in the summer period...
@Xewl Got it! I can tell you that the Japanese 151 set had a drastic drop as a result of reprints. For English, it hasn’t been that yet but the fact that you’re seeing it more is a good sign 😊 Thanks again for watching!!
There have definitely been thefts of cards but I don’t think there’s any evidence that it affected pull rates. This big one I can think of is Fusion Strike but, while the pull rates were hard in that set, the cards that were stolen still had pull rates that were consistent with other releases around that time. It’s an interesting idea though. Thanks for watching!!
I think there will be some time before the reprint happens, so the Pikachu could very well climb to $600-700 in the coming months. But after the next big reprint, I believe it will drop to the $300-400 range. Personally I went ahead and bought it for $500 a few days ago, because of fomo. Worst case I will lose $200, but there's also a big upside potential.
Thanks for watching! I think it will take some time for any reprints to come as well. I hope your purchase works out for you! As long as you’re happy with the card you’ll be fine 😊
Pulled this card and since I'm new to collecting went to my first card show on Saturday last week. Told a vendor i pulled the card and he said he thinks its gonna drop. traded it for a Silver tempest psa GM 10 Lugia (400) w/ some cash and i will say it was 100% worth it as I've been checking the card price for that Pikachu and its dropping. With that being said #thiccPikachu
Thanks for watching till the end! I think the deal you got for the PSA 10 Lugia solid 💪 Especially if you just like that cars (because, let’s face it: the illustrator, kawayoo, is amazing 🤩) Thanks for watching till the end!! 🫡
I agree with you to be honest!! There are absolutely details I like about this card, but the white background makes it feel too much like a standard full art card, and I always prefer my IR and SIR cards to be far more unique. To be fair though: I haven’t yet seen it in person and sometimes that makes a big difference! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
@ for sure, I agree. Honestly the cards value will very likely plummit very soon. With prismatic evolutions coming out the interest in surging sparks will drop and many will want to trade/try and sell their pikachus for the new eveelution cards
@IXGreywolfXI I’m expecting this too: I think the lineup we’ve had teased for the next year has a ton of potential and will cause demand to shift away from this set. I’m not sure it will be as dramatic a drop as Vivid experienced, but that will depend on how large reprints are, if any. But I’m not gambling on it!!
Latias card is far superior to the booty chu. It looks so much better and artistic than booty chu. I believe it will end up overtaking the booty chu in the long haul.
People certainly love the Latias! Maybe it’ll pull a Moonbreon and surpass the early leading chase of the set!! (People forget that the Rayquaza VMAX was the early winner from Evolving Skies 😊) Thanks for watching and commenting!
It does not look great. I am genuinely confused at why it's so expensive. My only thoughts are that the set in general is a dud in terms of art so people latched on the rarest pikachu as the defacto chase
Thanks for watching! Pikachu is also just very popular but this card (and the set) feel overpriced to me. I think as more new sets come out it will drop in relative popularity. And if reprints come even more so. I could be wrong of course, that’s just my feeling!!
Here is the l problem with the comparison. The sets arent even close to the same level. Vivid voltage sucks, yes it had hype early one but with one chase which is an outdated full art and a small amount of amazing rares that people didn't realize we're so each to pull. Surging has the most top end chases since evolving skies and nice depth. If we got a huge reprint it would affect the market for sure but I don't think it would tank it because surging is that good. Side question did you pre order any surging sparks? I know you made the video a while back saying not to pre order but curious what you had done?
Thanks for sharing this: based on other comments I’ve received you’re not alone! The way I’ve been looking at it is: while I agree Surging Sparks is a far better set than Vivid Voltage, both sets were strong relative to the sets that came before them. My concern with Surging Sparks is that, as the sets we’ve been teased with are released over the next year, it might look as dated and unexciting as Vivid did after Chilling Reign, Evolving Skies and beyond! I do agree that the crash might not be as severe, especially if Pokemon is conservative with reprints. And, I’m not ignoring it’s always possible they don’t reprint at all! That’s just inconsistent with their past decisions. To answer your side question: I pre-ordered a case of the PC ETBs and that’s it 😊 Since then I was able to get another case of PC ETBs, some booster bundles, and I imported a couple regular ETBs from the US in the hopes of maybe flipping them. It’s nothing crazy but it’s honest work haha. Thanks again for the thoughtful comment!
This is extremely wrong, Vivid voltage was just a rainbow secret rare. Now with the new Illustration rare you cant compare the 2 sets. Price will drop down but not as much as you think. They overprinted in alot of sets and guess what...the chase cards foe those sets are still expensive.
I have 2 surging sparks booster boxes coming from Pokémon Center. Lucky to get them before they sold out. Keeping them sealed as prices on these are going higher than what I paid for them. I have been collecting for years, when there were abundant amounts of the Evolutions booster boxes, I bought 3 at $90.00 Usd each. Those boxes now sell for $800.00 Usd now.
Nice!! That Evolutions buy is legendary, congrats!! I have 2 I picked up for around $500 back in late 2020: I always wished I was collecting earlier and could have scored them at those prices 🫡 Thanks for watching and for the support 💪
Pulled the pikachu SIR from my second 3 pack blister going to grade it and keep in my PC looks like a solid 10 as I am going to master the set if I pull another maybe I’ll sell that one or trade
Thanks for watching till the end!! Finding the right time to sell can be very difficult 😅 I’m still holding on to a Japanese Miriam SAR that I pulled from a Violet ex set. At the time, it was reselling on eBay for about $1,200 USD (Japanese was EXTREMELY hot at this time 🥵) Today, it’s barely a $100 card. An absolutely insane drop in price triggered by reprints and a change in collector focus. I chose not to sell into that crazy market, and I still have that card… so I get it 😅 I think I would take advantage of the current Pikachu prices if I pulled that card today, but only because I’ve experienced the pain of doing the opposite.
the pull rates for this set are hard as hell. Surging Sadness... The prices will eventually go down for sure but not as low as people might think. The demand is still gonna grow.
Thanks for watching Jord! I need to look into the pull rates a bit more but they certainly play an important role in prices. I excluded it from this analysis because I believe the printed supply has a far larger impact in the end, but only time will tell!!
It’s up to you really: I don’t have a good track record of selling cards I’ve pulled 😂 (I pulled the Japanese SAR Miriam from Violet ex when it was selling for $1,200… and it’s now like a $100 card… I still have it 😅) I personally think there’s a good chance you will be able to buy it back in the future for less, but nothing is guaranteed! I hope that helps 🫡
You should definitely have more subscribers, high quality content!
Everything explained professionally, I agree 100% with you about the price of Pikachu and like you said: "History has been a great teacher!"
That’s too kind 🙇♂️ Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙌
Yes, he should. Glad I subscribed.
Thanks for the support 🥲
"Thicc Pikachu"
To be honest, I 100% believe that golden Pikachu card price is artificially inflated.
Thanks for watching!! 😂
For better or for worse, market manipulation is a real thing in collectibles markets. I haven’t looked into the gold card myself but if your right it wouldn’t be the first time 😅
Thanks for sharing! I'm new to collecting pokemon cards and decided to start with Surging Sparks because of that pikachu SIR.

Given reprint history, you can behold it right now with 151 too.
Thanks for watching 😊 Do you mean Japanese 151, or English with the new Blooming Waters product on the way?
Maybe both? I'm just seeing it it stores from time to time, albeit ETB's not BB's. Reddit seems to have more 151 EN posts since a week or 3 surfacing too. I might be observing it in a wrong way, but the fact I can buy it right now, comparing to the drought in the summer period...

Lmao I didn’t realize we made videos on pretty much the exact same topic at the same time. Great vid, your editing is so clean!
Ahaha thanks for watching my friend 😊 To be fair: it’s a pretty hot topic!! Thanks for the kind words
IT'S PIKACHUUU
⚡️⚡️⚡️ 😎
Wonder if a worker stole a bunch of these that’s why there isn’t many of em? Like someone stole the moonbreons and tohers

@ 100% i sold off my greninja and picked up a psa 10 shiny charizard from champions path, ill trade raw for a psa 10 any day lol
@ryantyau2189 you and up with all the big hits, eh?? That’s wild!! I’m jealous 😅
@ dude i had no clue until i looked online, my local target had a tin and 1 etb that i just grabbed for fun
@ryantyau2189 That’s so lucky!! It’s so fun when that happens 😊
It’s a hot take, but I really don’t think this card looks nice at all. I only want it to sell/trade for other cards since the value is high(for now)
I agree with you to be honest!! There are absolutely details I like about this card, but the white background makes it feel too much like a standard full art card, and I always prefer my IR and SIR cards to be far more unique.

Chonkachu
Vivid Voltage has been in the back of my mind this whole time, I'm glad you made this comparison.
Thanks for watching bud 😊 I can’t stop comparing Surging Sparks and Vivid Voltage! I’m not surprised it’s been on your mind too 🤘
Pika
Not thicc?? Thanks for watching!!
Thicc pikachu
Ahaha, thanks so much for watching till the end 😊
@tcgbuyersclub just found the channel, keep making good content
@DavidPatrzeba I promise to do my best 🙏 Thanks again!!

Bootychu the prize money
Bootychu 😂 That one’s new to me haha, thanks to watching!!
Nah. Give me a card with more detail! xD
Me too. Thanks for watching and commenting!! 🫡
Pulled the pikachu SIR from my second 3 pack blister going to grade it and keep in my PC looks like a solid 10 as I am going to master the set if I pull another maybe I’ll sell that one or trade
Congrats on the pull!! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous and I don’t blame you for not wanting to sell. Enjoy it and thanks for watching 🙏
Thick Pikachu. I wouldn't buy at this price but I'm not sure if I should sell either.
Thanks for watching till the end!! Finding the right time to sell can be very difficult 😅 I’m still holding on to a Japanese Miriam SAR that I pulled from a Violet ex set. At the time, it was reselling on eBay for about $1,200 USD (Japanese was EXTREMELY hot at this time 🥵)

I’m not selling mine as pull rates are rough and I’m trying to complete the set
@beezo-f5p if you want a master set I don’t blame you! Good luck on your set and thanks for watching 💪

These are like 1/1000 packs according to tcg player. But even stuff like the Lugia alt art fell under 200. So who knows
@@Theu131 really! I’ll look into it for sure 😊
THICKACHU!!!!
Thanks for watching 😊
But I already have it. Should I sell it?
It’s up to you really: I don’t have a good track record of selling cards I’ve pulled 😂 (I pulled the Japanese SAR Miriam from Violet ex when it was selling for $1,200… and it’s now like a $100 card… I still have it 😅)
I personally think there’s a good chance you will be able to buy it back in the future for less, but nothing is guaranteed!
I hope that helps 🫡
0:04 Moonbreon and latias/latios are more expensive in raw card value.
Sure, I’m just keeping it simple to set up the conversation. Thanks for watching! 🙇♂️
I ate an entire pizza tonight and now I feel like a THICC PIKACHU!! Lol
Ahaha I know that feeling 😂 Thanks so much for watching till the end! 💪
I pulled it on nostalgianomics rip and ship lol
Congrats!! You gonna hold or flip this bad boy??
And thanks for watching 😊🙌
@tcgbuyersclub I'm waiting like the rest of us to see what this cards going to do lol
@36090pburke good luck 🤞 🙏
