Who would have thought you could pack so much into a small village? Really enjoyed imagining Gladys leap there. I gotta say I went to a club in Stroud once and Keith Allen was serving behind the bar. It was his gaf. Well, thoroughly enjoyable. All the best. Mark

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland
I really enjoyed this video and the 3 stories you highlighted. For a tiny village, its hidden facts about Gladys, George Orwell and Gustav Holst don't necessarily put it on the map, but it certainly brings a lot of interest.
Fabulous still photographs and I loved the music. Yet again I learnt something new - definatley a benefit to anyone who subscribes to your channel.

Surprisingly, although I grew up only a few miles from Cranham, I had never been to the village properly before, and was amazed to learn of the Eric Arthur Blair (Orwell) connection - probably my favourite writer. Thanks again Michael, Paul

Thank you! Yes, I have only recently 'discovered' the Cranham area, even though I have lived around here previously. It is lovely, quiet and thankfully unspoilt. Thanks for watching, commenting and for the subscribe! Paul.

Great film Paul, I live around here, and I'm learning loads. Ron

Thank you Ron! I am learning all the time too - I had never been to Cranham before, despite being brought up around the Stroud area. I saw the edge of it when I was doing the Cotswold Way and thought it'd be worth returning. Now I have seen the sanatorium on the old OS map I might return to see if I can see any remains of it in the woods. I was looking in the wrong place entirely when recording this! Thanks again, take care, Paul.

Hi Paul, I really enjoyed this video and loved the story you shared about Gladys Leap and George Orwell.
I'm a bit of fan of George Orwell 😊

Hi Stephen, yes another Orwell fan here! When I recently learnt of this area's connection to George, I simply had to make a video about it. There is more to share about Orwell and this area, so I may well be back soon. I can also recommend a book called 'Barnhill' (all about how he wrote 1984) by the Scottish writer Norman Bissell. Thanks again, take care, Paul.

Good old Gladys, I bet she ended up with wet feet more than once. Great walk, thank you.
