Watching on my Chinese ROM'd Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. I've had it since launch and I've averaged more than one update a month and that's even with no software issues. My phone has never randomly rebooted or had things crash on it. It's been rock solid since day one.
I think the "winners" of 2024 for foldables are Honor and Vivo (i have the Vivo fold 3 and plan to purchase the v3 currently own the v2). I like the look of the Xiaomi but i always feel they just kinda fall short . I am also waiting for Huawei's mate X6 (if they drop one in 2024!). I use my X3 still. Amazing phone! Currently the foldables i use the most are the Samsung's Z fold 6 (shock horror 😂 i know there has been a ton of criticism etc but i like it. Is it objectively better than the Chinese OEM's in terms of thinness etc the answer is no but it has it's own "charm" that i like. It's the first z fold that i used daily since Inception). The other foldable that i keep coming back to is Huawei Mate X3. Again it's not the thinnest etc i just like the feel in hand etc. Great channel. I really like this moment in phone tech where OEM's are trying new things. As a phone enthusiast i will try to get them all!! Keep up the great content!
What in the hillbilly hell were they thinking with that crease?? I just went to the local Samsung store today and played with the Fold 6 and it actually wasn't bad at all. The crease wasn't bad. The glossy screen did seem to make it look like a nice OLED, but..... The front screen is way too narrow and their slow charge turned me off. The thickness actually didn't bother me much, surprisingly.
Hi Guy's Hope you are well. A quick question, as I’m facing a dilemma. I have been using a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 for about 6 years now and it felt a few days ago breaking the screen. As a replacement I was looking to take the Mix Fold 4 as I was really happy with the brand I wanted to be faithful. But I have seen a lot of video lately saying disappointments about the phone, software not so adapted to multitasking, screen not so gorgeous, plus the CREASE……and then today I saw in a shop live the Honor V3, I have to say I was really stunned by the hardware of the machine (impossible to compare as the Mix fold is not available in any supplier in France unfortunately). So my question is , which one is the best overall (I know some compromises have to be done anyways) Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Honor V3, Vivo Xfold 3/pro ? Looking forward to your honest, bold opinions and advices.
Vivo x fold 3 pro is still the best overall package. Larger battery, better cameras, better performance, under display fingerprint sensors. Additionally, I think that OriginOS is slightly better and more polished than MagicOS and Hyper OS.
@@DaRazorback since you are XF3 Pro owner - can you tell us what AI is available in the camera department ? Is magic eraser any good ? Can you change sky/water ect like samsung/pixel ?

Hi Average dad. I have a vivo x fold 3 with Chinese ROM. I've had it about a month and had 2 updates already so can confirm you get lots of updates like you say. I'm in China as we speak and managed to hold the Mix Fold 4 and the Magic V3. Both very nice but the V3 is nicer from my perspective. Really enjoying your reviews. Finally, I have no problems with my China ROM device (I moved from Samsung).
Can you explain your reasons why? I'm looking at getting the Open over the the X Fold 3 Pro, personally. But, could you list your reasons for the naysayers?
i heard on another review that the mix fold 4 made a weird sound when opening up.(tech tablets ) is that the same on yours ad? or do you think it's a one off?
Bought my Mix Fold 3 last year based on your review and it's been an amazing device. Only downside is that it doesn't have location history due to being a Chinese ROM device, but otherwise it's been perfect.
Does the crease not fall into the build quality portion? I feel like it should as pieces within the hinge which is part of the build is what effects the crease.
vivo x fold 1 -2.5 years and still going strong. no hardware or software issues. imported from China...i get regular updates, have been from day one. firmware updates as well as apps. Microsoft excel, word update from vivo store. 👍🏅
Thanks Average Dad, kudos to you for putting spotlight on this underrated device. On the Software part, did Xiaomi fixed the "issue" of the mix fold 3 where, when using two apps, you could only arrange it side by side but not put one above the other?
I don't yet own a foldable, but when I get one I'd want the multitasking functionality to exploit the heck out of the form factor. The Oneplus Canvas seems the best implementation so far. YT's Shane Craig did a good compare to OneUI. OP Open's camera still a competitor in '24 too. Looking forward to more V3 info though. It could be the one this year.
Great video again as usual. When it comes to the full reviews any chance at the end of the video you could just add a table showing what phones sit where in the ranking system 😊😊
@@AverageDadOfficial I'm dumb! I see it now. Thank you lol. But damn, that's an expensive pen. But you did just give us a 4% discount code...you're the best :)
I have both the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Ultra. On the Oppo i had 12 updates in the 6 months of owning it so far, and on the Vivo 5 updates in the 1,5 month of owning it. So yeah, the update frequency is much better and higher on China only phones.
Great review as always. Have you ever had any durability issues with foldables inner screen? Just asking since you have used every foldable on this planet.
I like your reviews but now when you are selling the phones it's no longer unbiased. You can never be a reliable source of information when there is a profit involved. I wouldn't mind buying a phone from you but people should be aware about this.
I disagree, because he doesn't have to sell the phones if they're garbage as he doesn't sell directly from the companies and he chooses what he adds to his store. I know for certain if a phone was a waste of time, he would complete the review but not sell it on his store.

Talking about how the z fold is overpriced without mentioning the de facto price is basically $100-200 LESS than any of the chinese rom foldables due to trade in deals is misleading. $550 trade in credit for an iPhone xs which you can get all day long on eBay for $150 means the *actual price of the z fold is $1300 right now. Paid $1150 plus the $150 for the iPhone.
The price is the price, trade in is irrelevant. What if you don't have a trade? The z fold 6 is a rediculously overpriced z fold 4/5 in a new body. Still has narrow front screen, crap cameras, slow charging, no charging brick... I can go on. I gave up on Samsung after the zfold 4 and went to Chinese foldables in the US and couldn't be happier.
