The artistry is obvious but what is absolutely amazing to me is your eye for geometry and your extraordinary skill at controlling flame! I am going to try this technique but I already know that I will get frustrated when I either melt a component or half the other side of the mounting falls apart. The skill is incredible. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Prezzo have you tried using the smiths torch? You have many flame sizes as small as 0.5 mm. I use it and I love it. But, I agree scafoal is a true master !!
M Prezza come on now are you full of it! to study your craft or ask me to send you some information for chips but that wouldn't help you have to take a class or go to college something???? You people are just really unbelievable LMAO
Wow, this aquamarine fits perfectly and its beautifully surrounded by diamonds. The most amazing thing here is design. Really original and very precious piece of work. Congratulations.
@@scaffoal May I ask, If you were to make this same ring with Argentium silver which fuses to itself beautifully without solder, would you still add solder to all of those prongs - would it make the setting stronger and able to withstand more wear and abuse? Thank you! What an excellent video and beautiful finished piece!
Love the fact that this video shows why "Custom" is expensive & worth the price. If you have an awesome stone like that Aqua, you need to make the mounting special.
I love the aquamarine. Do you ever polish the metal inside of the gallery of the stone? I see VC&A doing this but I'm not sure if you do it. You do amazing work!
Great video, very cool. I have a handmade ring from the '20s kind of similar to this. It's a cabochon turquoise surrounded by 32 tiny diamonds. Your video is giving me ideas about how my ring was made, which is cool. Unfortunately the prongs started to wear out and I lost a few diamonds, so I don't wear the ring anymore. :(
There is nothing like watching a pro at work! Oh, to have such steady hands and the Soldering Angel sitting on your fingertips! It is a lot trickier than he makes it look, but thanks for the inspiration! Don't see a maker's mark stamp or gold mark inside the ring, however!
Neto Pellecer I'm Mister Lonely I'm Mister Lonely🎵🎶🎵🎹 Blah Blah. Blah you know damn good and well everybody watching this if they can make it through the whole video which I doubt we just want to share this time we want the ring! you have to be brain-dead to watch this from beginning to end come on now!😂😂😂😂😂😂
This ring gonna be my next project this week i know is not gonna be perfect like this but is gonna be closer thanks for sharing this video you are a master
I'm just curious how things don't melt or slide when you do the subsequents weldering? Many times when I try to do these very complexes assembly, the tiny parts slide, others melt. What's your secret, if you don't mind sharing it? Congratulations from Brasil.
Great work as always! I really admire and appreciate your work! But I am just wondering if you could do something about the focus of the camera while filming... Like pre-set it to where the ring usually is or something else? I feel like I am missing the finer details and they are most amazing!
Surely, to have a good definition use a camera with a fixed lens, not having powerful lights keep open the aperture, so I shallow depth of field. Sometimes I do not notice that I move from the plane of focus and then the image is slightly blurred.
I am intrigued with the clamp you use to cut wire to precise lengths. Did you have this tool made for you or is it available from a supply house or online?
I do you polish between all those pins. How do you reach it? I only see polishing around but never see going through inside and between. These one has lot of those 🤔 Ok I wrote this before the end. But I never saw the little bristle going before in the other videos.
There are two possibilities, some points are also polished before the welding of the wires, the other is the use of a tumbler balls to get where they do not reach the toothbrushes. Some passages of the cleaning do not enter them in the video for the duration and reasons why many observers is boring.
So what happens to the little pieces of gold? Do you collect them and melt them to make one big peace of gold or do you just throw those tiny pieces away?
You are a great inspiration to me, thank you for the videos, please upload more videos for those of us that are excited to learn more from YOU. thank you and God bless.
Bellissimo !!!!
+Patrick Singh There are various types of alloys to make white gold, some are easier to use and others that require attention during melting in burns. Some types of alloy if you wear has high temperatures during melting, or if they come into contact with foreign substances, during the drawing phase will crack. If using the lost wax process, often the metal tends to crak for micro natural porosity of this type of processing. It does not depend on carat gold you are having the same problems even with the different tipe of carat . I use alloys of LEGORGROUP that has a website where he lists all types and their properties.

I was born in America but my family is from Italy. I was just there 2 years ago and plan to return very soon . I love your work ! I watch it over and over ! I told my wife you are a genius! I just started to do jewelry not to long ago . I did dental technology for 9 years then got let go because I had heart surgery, my question to you is when making a ring do you use medium or soft solider? And do you use boric acid and denatured alcohol on all soldering joints??
Thank you . Normally i use hard welding lasts everywhere i can , I avoid that they move the pieces during any other welds. To prevent oxidation and help the flow of welding using a compound ready to purchase from Legor Group, has a catalog online. I offer my best wishes. If you come back in Italy and travel in Emilia you should visit the Parma city I live in it is really nice.

If the ring structure is not too damaged, a good craftsman should be able to restore the worn clamps
I clicked this video because aquamarine is my birthstone. Your amazing. I subscribed. I love it. I am off to watch more of your videos!
+Always Wishing Thanks a lot
How long did it take in your jewelry training, to finally get the prongs on straight? I have such problems with that. Any tips?
Beautiful .!!!! Congratulations

I am intrigued with the clamp you use to cut wire to precise lengths. Did you have this tool made for you or is it available from a supply house or online?
you can find it online the name is Bergeon 6677
Hi Scaffoal did you form the two rings that hold the aqua in a bezel block or just file them to an angle?
just file
Excellent work. what kind of solder do you used to work on this ring.
Thanks
Frankie Huynh He uses 18k as far as I know
Stunningly exquisite!

è una lega di oro sempre a 18k ma con un punto di fusione leggermente più basso della normale lega di oro 18k
It's crazy how much control you have with the propane torch, I probably would have melted it
Thanks
Nice art, keep it 🆙💐🌺

Excellent work but surprised you didn't pre polish prior to setting that aqua.
Increíble trabajo, un Genio!!!!
gracias
what are you using to solder them with?, great work. thanks.
My jewels are 18k gold and welds are 18k gold hard and soft
what do you use to solder the joints? 24 karat or some other alloy?
the rings are alloy 18k. The welds are alloy 18k with melting temperature below that of the jewel.
BuonGiorno e complimenti volevo un'informazione che cannello usa per saldare? Ossigeno Gas dove lo trovo?

is that a mini hammer drill I cant find anything to bend the edges for the diamonds

+MASTERGOP Thanks a lot
Amazing work! Scaffoal could you tell me what the poecentege of the welt?
Thank you. Not sure I understand the question. I use gold solder 18kt. The alloys that use I find them ready by wholesalers
It's because your welt looks so soft! Your work is bellissimo! Hugs from Brazil!
Good night
I have a slight problem
what causes the white gold to crack when I am milling it? ie 14k
+Patrick Singh not annealing it. the metal will get to hard and crack if you dont heat it to a cherry red to soften it every so often.
