Terrific stories!! I just love this !! Looking forward to more UA-cam podcasts . My original story is when I had a piece of furniture delivered to my new apartment, God’s voice told me “this is who you’ll marry. Two months later I went on a blind date with that guy and it was the same guy. We’ve been married now 31 years!

So precious and touching to see Mary talk about the humble beginnings of their relationship and Gary's love for creating essential oils. It has made me fall in LOVE with them and the company even MORE! And Jacob...."You are a chip off the ole block"!! So relaxed and confident as you interviewed your Mom, adding your thoughts and own Memories! This on going YL DROP is going to be a WONDERFUL addition to YL Education...getting to know the back stories, the beginnings and the family dynamics thru the years! Bravo Jacob!!!

I love how Gary worked all day and then came home to answer the phone messages, hand fill the orders and compute commissions on his calculator at the dinning room table!

I loved hearing Mary talk about her VW Bug: parking on an incline, pushing the car to get it rolling, jumping in the driver's seat, popping the clutch to get it started. Very entertaining!
I learned to drive using my family's 1964 Rambler which, too, had manual transmission. The Rambler had a "3-on-the-tree" shift lever (located on the steering column).
Once I mastered driving a manual transmission vehicle, The Rambler, I felt like I could do anything!
Thank you Mary (and Gary) for creating Young Living. May God continue to prosper you, your family, and your YL family!

I love this! Seeing Mary & Jacob together and hearing the stories of Gary & Mary’s early days together is wonderful! I think my favorite aspect of their origin story is how their wedding came together in just 2 months after Gary invited Mary to go to France with him to visit Lavender farms & attend essential oil meetings; and Mary’s response was “not unless we’re married”! The mutual love, respect, and joy Mary and Jacob radiate while they talk about Gary & the YLEO story is so palpable, uplifting & inspiring, and it beautifully reflects how Gary so earnestly, tenaciously & generously shared his mission with them, us and the world! I’m very happy & grateful that you have started this podcast. It is so heartwarming to witness & be part of the fulfillment of Gary’s legacy through you & your mother, Jacob! Bless you!

I loved how persistent Gary was from the beginning. Mary couldn’t make the 1st meeting and said to call her when there was another one and he did! And then he called on her for picking him up from the airport. It’s like he saw something from the beginning.

I love that Mary went for that meeting, knowing that she wasn't familiar with anyone, putting herself out there to learn more. The journey to follow that turned out absolutely amazing!
I have a similar story of stepping out of my comfort zone. I heard about a gentleman who was walking across the country to raise awareness for a non profit that supported veterans. I offered to take him for some dinner and run a load of his laundry before he continued on his trek. After meeting, we quickly grew fond of each other. I would drive out to visit him here and there as he continued his cross country adventure. Eventually, I would fly. Fast forward to now and we are married with 3 little ones.
I love a good story about how couples meet! Thank you for sharing.

Oh I am so excited for this new Pod Cast. This is wonderful. Thank you so much for doing this. I know that this takes a lot of time and effort and I deeply appreciate you taking this on Mr. J. Young.
You wanted an origin story: My mom (a YL user/lover) met dad in California. She was at loose ends as her mom had discouraged her from accepting a job in Hawaii (her dream job) and she wasn’t sure what to do. In 1946 the men in her age group (she was 23) were ready to settle down. Many of them were vets and wanted to get back to their dreams. Both of my parents were from the Midwest but had fallen in love with the West. They were at a church function when Mom noticed this set of shoulders across the room. She had a mutual friend introduce them & they started dating. Dad immediately told her that he wanted to settle in Northern Nevada. She said fine even though she thought it was dirt streets, wild Indians, & outlaws. She told Dad that the doctors said that she’d not be able to have children. (My brother was born 10 months after the wedding.) He said fine we’ll adopt. They had 4 natural born children, 2 foster children and sheltered 32 foster children in the course of 9 years. I am the 5th of 6. They were married 54 years.

What great fun Jacob! Perfect 1st episode interviewing your mom! So funny that your Dad wanted her to work and she didn't want a J.O.B! ...or pick him up at the airport and run him around on his errands. Not congruent to her success! haha Sure would love deeper details how she was asked in the first place. Love the rich history, the stories and love that built Young Living.

I loved hearing about how Mary loudly stated in a meeting “I would never build a business in Young Living because they have such horrible marketing plan” and how she didn’t want to pick Gary up from the airport and thinking “I don’t wanna do this. Who is this Gary Young? I don’t want to go.” 😂🤣 I also love how you said “You’re the X to his Y.” That is the sweetest!! 💜 Even though Mary didn’t mention where she was born, I think it’s awesome that she was born here in Iowa, where I was born and I have lived my entire life. Thank you for such a fantastic start to what will definitely be an awesome podcast!!

Gary's vision was impacting the world and being at the Mona Farm was inspiring that brought many so close to him when they see Mona. It's ironic that the humble beginnings of YL are oils welcome any new baby, relationship, and family member. We want to spread Gary's message and life by his example, to introduce to everyone who benefits from them.

Oh my goodness! I can SO relate to Mary's story about her car with no heat! Lol, I too had one like that! I had to wrap up to keep warm in the winter. Now my A/C doesn't work. I can't wait to be able to buy a good car that everything works! It just survived a hit-and-run even. . . one of these days.😅
