I bought the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4k a year and a half ago. Today, while watching a video, the screen suddenly went blank and I couldn't turn it off. Eventually, I had to unplug the power cord. After reconnecting the power and trying to turn it on with the remote control, I noticed that the projector's power indicator was blinking red, but there was no image.
extremely detailed comparison. Can't ask for more. Nebula looks over saturated unlike xgimi which is producing natural colours even though it's a little bit less bright. Guess it comes down to personal preference. But really useful video. Amazing!
I thought Bond looked like he had jaundice, I don't know how you preferred that. Whenever red was shown, there was often a complete loss of detail. I considered both projectors and decided on the Xgimi as the colour rendering of the Nebula is truly awful..I had the Xgimi Elfin before and that was very good, the Horizon pro 4K certainly hasn't disappointed. One tip for people, definitely turn adaptive brightness off and leave it off. I also got their dongle free with mine and it's really excellent, giving seamless operation with the one Xgimi controller. Using the dongle is actually better for motion than using the built in application.
Sorry, but from the beginning I could tell you were just going to lean towards the Nebula; and you didn't disappoint. I've been trying to decide which projector to buy for a while now, and one thing that I can tell you about this comparison is that is completely bias. Sorry, but I have seen so many comparisons by other youtubers, and you were just being negative about the Xgimi one.
To be fair the Cosmos Laser doesn't have any native OS. It's running Android TV off a dongle that is house inside a hidden carpartment. That's how they're getting around the Netflix certification issue. Either way I would still use a Chromecast with Google TV dongle over any built-in Android TV. The Xgimi has 2 HDMI inputs due to it having a true built-in Android TV. A dongle could easily be attached in the back of the Horizon Pro as well using the USB port as power. Also by having a separate powered dongle you could wake the projector using Google Assistant. At the end both don't have Netflix built-in. I'm not sure if you went over the cost difference as well as the Cosmos Laser is around $400 more or so. This is a huge difference for a slightly brighter pic and the audio quality isn't as nice as the Horizon Pro. The older Cosmos Max actually has better speakers then both of the two here in the video. The Cosmos Laser is nice but honestly it should have a battery in it if it's going to have a handle like that. I do like that the power brick is built-in though.
Right now they are going for the same price. That kind of makes it more likely I get Cosmos. If it were 400 bucks more than I agree with you, but at the same price point you get better picture quality, and slightly less sound. To me I rather have the better picture since the sound is just marginally better on xgimi.
@@juliocenteno2360 I just checked on Amazon right now and they're $500 different. Yes of course if they're the same price then it's a no brainer to get the Cosmos Laser. Sound could always be improved by connecting whatever but the picture can't unless you get a really nice screen with some gains. You can't go wrong with either though. To me I'm looking forward to 4K 120Hz projectors. I'm probably going to UST with it to get the brightest picture possible.
Thanks for sharing your insights on the Nebula Cosmos Laser and XGIMI Horizon Pro projectors. It's helpful to understand the technical differences between the two devices, such as the use of a dongle for Android TV on the Cosmos Laser and the true built-in Android TV on the Horizon Pro. The additional HDMI input on the Horizon Pro is a valuable feature, and the ability to attach a dongle using the USB port for power is a convenient option. The ability to wake the projector using Google Assistant through a separate powered dongle is also a nice perk.
First thanks for showing both under same conditions. I agree in the sense that Nebula is brighter but colors in movies and demos seems better on the XGIMI. Bond’s face look more natural on the XGIMI. Compare it to your face in the video on the top left corner using your camera which seems more natural. Not sure if you can improve the color of the Nebula with the settings. In any case for me Netflix is a deal breaker and also PC is better on Nebula.
I’ve had two Xgimi Horizons. The first one had a dead pixel out of the box and the second began to intermittently overheat and shut down. Then developed a dead pixel about 10 months into use. Hopefully I was just unlucky.
I put a link in the description: amzn.to/3u4tPXU - Just a basic motorized white pull down about 120". Does the job for my needs, would love to get something better one day!
Uh oh! The last time you made a projector vid (Apeman 1080P), I ended up buying one through your affiliate link! It's been great btw. Problem, I just saw this new video title and I'm not ready to spend more money lol. I love your content! Keep up the amazing work.
In addition, there should be other civilian level projectors, I hope you can also evaluate, such as VIZONY, HASATEK, VOPLLS, Sovboi, these prices are almost the same, want to compare to see what the effect is
If the projector is kept at say 30 degrees horizontal (at the corner of the room) does the keystone or manual settings correct the image to appear are rectangular. Does it keep the image sharp from a focus standpoint?
Yes, keystone will correct to rectangular - However, the nature of keystone (with all projectors) does degrade the maximum possible quality/output of the image, this even more apparent on budget projectors in the sub $300 range
No he doesn't,I have watched the video, not whole of it and yes he likes nebula more but he doesn't force people towards nebula, ok? Everyone can have an opinion so does he.
Excellent and detailed video. Subscribed on the channel too :) I am looking to buy XGIMI Horizon 4K, would you please help me with 2 things. 1. Since XGIMI has a more flat picture is it possible to adjust it in options to get more contrast and a punchier picture like in Nebula 2. Can I connecI my Sony Blutooth headphones to any of the projector so i don't have to use the cable? Thank you!
1) Yes absolutely, I've been trying to tweak the projector and have been able to get much better and punchier image results from it. I'm not sure about your second question off the top of my head, I don't believe so, but I could be wrong.
Great review...I am assuming one can connect this up to an Audio Video Receiver ? I have my own 5.1 setup. The AVR can pass 4K -Dolby Vision and HDR 10.
@@FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE Exactly...they weigh less than TVs now and give you a bigger picture with high resolution. The real question is, how is it with gaming🤔🤔🤔? Like if I plug an Xbox series X into it, how's the gameplay? Can it keep up with the fps of the Xbox? I'm looking and wanting to replace my 65-Inch LG TV with this. Not only will I not have to move or make space for a huge ass heavy old TV, but I can just grab that little box and make my move so much easier😮💨. I'm looking to get rid of that old-school flat screen, you know! Flat screen TVs had a good run😂. Time to go, Laser TVs!
After viewing your posts for a long time, I love your video’s style. We wanted to cooperate with you and even wrote an email, but we didn't get any reply.
I really hated this review for 1 simple reason: the fact that you said the name Nebula Cosmos Pro 4K so many times. I almost went back to watch and count. It is obvious that you are a shill since you rarely said XGimi. It’s a not subtle way to convince your viewers. That one is better than the other, by simply repeating the name of one brand over the other. I completely agree to the cosmos nebula 4K has a better picture without a doubt. But the fact that the review seems so, Jenkee and one-sided makes me never wanna watch your channel again, please be aware that people actually listen to the words that come out of your mouth. I’ve watched for different reviews about these projectors and yours is the most unrealistic review of these two products.
I’m not trying to convince my viewers of anything. Sorry that I happened to say one of the projector names more than the other…pretty skewed way to judge a review, I think my review is the most comprehensive when it comes to real side by side image quality comparisons that I haven’t seen others do quite as accurately. I am not biased towards either projector, they both have their pros and cons as I’ve outlined. If you want better Brightness or Native Netflix go with Nebula, if you want colour accuracy and better mounting or I/O go with XGIMI. Both are wonderful projectors.
Been watching this channel all of 2022 and this channel has to blow up soon! Production, intel, details all excellent!
Thanks man! Really appreciate it. Put a lot of work into this one especially!

My thoughts exactly! From the first to the last word!
Its lovely to see which Brand is stronger and has deeper pockets for marketing. Both projectors are amazing. Thank you for your efforts.

What about response time? For gaming. Isnt laser slower than LED?

A year in and I’m having intermittent overheating and shutting down too
ad 3 so far and no problems
For the Cosmos can you adjust the colours to be just as accurate as the xgimi?
Nope
Netflix runs perfectly in 4k with a firestick on the xgimi so no deal breaker there, then.
Nope easy workaround! Although now you need two remotes!
Hello, thanks for the great post, I have an important question: which screen do you use personally and what can you recommend to us?
I put a link in the description: amzn.to/3u4tPXU - Just a basic motorized white pull down about 120". Does the job for my needs, would love to get something better one day!
Thanks. Great companion. But what about 3D option and frame rate (Hrz) in dynamic scenes? Which one has smoother image?
after watching your video... when it comes to red? RGB the first of the 3 the cosmos gets smacked down... did Cosmo sponsor this by any chance?

Thanks good buddy! A lot of time went into this for sure

What tripod are you using for the projector?
Xgimi is so good and i only have the fhd version. And is you put a chromecast in the x gimi, you can use the xgimi remote to control your chromecast.
Nice comparison video man! Waiting for your Jmgo N1 Ultra review. ;)

What are the lighting units that are giving you such good lighting on your walls?
