This was so helpful. Thank you. I watched a lot of other LOC detox VODS and people like to run their mouth and not show how to do it. Don’t nobody wanna hear you run your mouth. This was great and it wasn’t too long. Great job!
if you can, please let the stylist know, that they can use the lemon squeezer / juicer to get the maximum amount of juice lemons can offer. it's usually a metal yellow device with 2 handles. costs no more than 4 dollars but so worth it. your hair came out nice btw. 😊
Thanks 😊
You can also buy a citrus juicer which is much easier to use.

Lemon fluff shampoo cleans everything out of your scalp and hair and I have eczema and it doesn't irritate or cause dandruff flair ups. Afterwards, my hair soaks up whatever treatments and conditioners I use very well.
Where do you get it from ?

I don't want locs but I'm so addicted to watching these loc detox videos looks so satisfying! ♥️
Your hair actually doesn’t seem dirty to me. I know the acv rinse did cleanse your hair, but the color of the water is mainly from the rinse and not your hair.
It's dirt. You can soak locks with clarifying shampoo and watch the water turn murky.
Water was murky before the wash and rinse
how wonderful to have your partner as your loctician! i watched a whole bunch of youtube videos and did a few internet searches to learn everything i need to about locs because maintenance can be pricey and you can easily maintain your hair yourself. the washing process looks so fascinating, and you have gorgeous locs!

You want to be careful not to strip all of the natural oils from the hair. One bottle of ACV is more than enough.
and all that baking soda :c

This is SO MANY LEVEL OF DEAD WRONG ITS RIDICULOUSNESS
SO NO ONE USES A CLEANSER SHAMPOO?
I must say you never lied.
I have thigh length locks of over 11 years, I do this twice a year depending on the spring/summer, if you use 2 parts vinegar 1 part water, its easier on the hair, ive also learned working the baking soda in instead of dumping it all over. It goes a lot farther than you think. I'd also use a cup to rinse with while the ends soak, I do a rinse before and add oils to my scalp to make it easier on the scalp as well. This is just what works for me after trial and error over the years, I hope it helps ❤❤

Thank you so much. ❤I used this tutorial today to clarify/ wash my son's locks.
Do you have Zelle?
I did mines for the first time after having my locs for 5-6 years. Post gym hair odor was gone and my liycs just felt so much lighter, bouncy, and fresh.
Thanks for showing us the process, I don't have locks but I do alot of protective styling so I re-cornrow/twist my hair once a week, i find that even after washing the dirt doesn't budge so I'm gonna try this
Wow is all I can say even after the first detox it looked so much shinier healthy clean and soft
I’ve had locs for 1yr and 5months I worked in demolition a few months back and had so much dust in my hair from knocking down walls (I had to quit lol) but I would love to detox my hair I have some build up. My hair feels so itchy and dirty from excessive sweating being 7months pregnant. I have nobody to help me detox my hair and going to a loctician is out of my budget right now. So wish me luck I will try to detox my own hair only doing it backwards with hair goin forward standing up. Wish me luck ladies. Love your video
Congratulations on baby and you can do it.
The kid's father cant help?
I do it myself too! It’s not too hard. You just need to do it a bit different! I do it like this: fill a bath with water and baking powder in it. Soak your head in it first. So your hair is filled with the mixture already. Then you start with the front. You sit on your knees flip hair forward and dip it in the water. Then you take a sip or bottle with apple cider and you poor it over your temple area and front part and immediately dip you hair in the water. It will bubble, so keep your eyes closed. You can do this a couple time with the Apple cider until your water will not bubble anymore. This means your powdered water is not ‘working’ anymore. I then make a new bath and lay on my back, put all dreads in water+ powder. And take a cup of apple cider and poor it in the bath. So I can get all the bubbles at the nape/ back in the bubbles. Then you can repeat this until you see the build up is gone. Might take a little practicing to see what works for you, but it can be done!
By far the most informative acv wash I've seen. Well done. And congrats on getting married!
Everyone can benefit from a acv rinse. If you notice your tried and true products aren’t working anymore, you probably have product build up. Use a clarifying shampoo and do this. It’ll save your hair.

That's the colour of acv not all dirt. How drying is that treatment for your hair guess you use tons of conditioner and oils to replenish after
No ma'am THEY DON'T
ANSWER IS, THAT IS BEYOND DRYING
AND HARMFUL TO P.H. LEVEL
SHAMPOO & DANDRUFF CONDITIONER IS FINE
TONS OF CONDITIONER AFTER THIS LORD JESUS
The treatment is helpful but really makes your locs dry afterwards. It took me few weeks for locs to be regain its moisture.🥺🥺
It’s supposed to be diluted first smh
I just did one. I used ACV, mayo, tea tree oil, and honey.
My hair feels pretty good. 😉
The ACV made my strands strong.
*****Edit. I just tried lemon juice. It's where it's at. It removed all my dandruff and my scalp feels back to normal. I did not have these results with ACV. I also made lemon soap. It removes all sweat and grime on my body. It's also great for cleaning, and getting stuck on food off of pans.
Lemons, lemons, lemons 🍋
@@TheAlmightyGod1what did you do and how did you make your lemon juice and did you soak your locs or just massaged it in your hair and if you did soak in it how long did you and did you wash it with shampoo afterwards and conditioned it and put leave in conditioner in it too?
I love you. I have dermatitis also. And never knew that this would help. I have tried everything to calm it down and help with the flakes. You are the best. Thank you so much. ❤
The best locs detox I've ever seen
Very nice video. Also, the prescription shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis, if you’re using what’s called Ketoconazole, BE CAREFUL with getting it on the length of your hair and instead work the prescription shampoo ONLY onto the scalp - it is very harsh and can cause breakage/damage, strip dye if you use it, and if you use any other products it is strong enough to be a total reset apparently. The first one is what concerned me the most so getting it only on the scalp is essential. It’s a struggle, hope this helps.
"It's definitely spicy on your scalp" took me out 🤣🤣🤣
Me rn
I'm white, so not sure about what spicy would mean. I am so intrigued with beautiful African American hair. So many styles and so much VAVOOM with those curls. So I was just wondering what this treatment feels like to the scalp. Does it hurt?
I also do ACV in my hair to cleanse out build-up and purify my scalp. It really is quite effective.
Try
Something made FOR THE SCALP!!!!!
LIKE SEA BREEZE, ANTISEPTIC
PAUL MITCHELL TEA TREE SHAMPOO
AND DOUBLE CONDITION IT
HONEY VINEGAR
IS NOT FOR HAIR
PEOPLE NEED TO CUT THIS MESS OUT
LORD HAVE MERCY
YALL GOING TO BE BALD DOING THIS 🤣😭🤣🤣
I like the way you put the baking soda directly on your scalp and locks before pouring the acv directly onto your scalp and locks...that's intense! I always just add to water so it's somewhat diluted. I'm gonna try your way next time though
My neck no for that 30 minutes..but great job. (:
This helps I need to detox mine it's been about 2 years for me. Thanks for this video

I’ve done this before, and want to do it again one day! When I did it, I had blue-black semi permanent hair dye, and it pulled a lot of the colour out of my hair (not complaining, just saying it’s effective) ☺️✨
I would’ve thought it better to buy acv and soda in bulk , also to have some sort of sonic device to agitate the solution and aid cleansing. Another thought is a paste to stick to the roots area
LOVE the idea of a paste!
You don't need any kind of "sonic device" - that's a (somewhat violent) chemical reaction that occurs - the baking soda is highly alkaline - when the ACV - which is v acidic - mixes with it - boom, the chemical reaction happens - & it fizzes - bc of the oxygen produced - no sonic device will make it work harder, it's a finite reaction but it's a v productive one.🙏💜
Perm as in Jheri Curl or a relaxer. I was always told to not scratch my scalp at least 48 hrs before getting a relaxer.
May have been dirtier than you thought it would be but ma that's super clean!
I won’t lie I tried this on my daughters hair and it dried her hair out BADLY. I use dawn dish soap now, I watched a video of a BW using dawn dish soap and it does wonders!!!

Lox detox never heard of it I just got dreads a year and half ago and it’s so much stuff I’m just now learning about them like you can put braiding hair over them and you can have braids🤷🏾♀️my sister just told me this yesterday, but right now I probably wouldn’t need a loc detox but when they grow a little longer I probably will, looking forward to it.
I’d be careful getting braids over them regularly it can cause thinning and breaking of the loc’s

She takes great care of your locs! :-)
I'm surprised that wringing the hair in the water as it soaks isn't an option. Is there a reason? Would it damage your hair?
Wow that is amazing my locks are long I need that to great
You and your hair are so beautiful … and congrats on your marriage 😍😍😍.. wish I could marry somebody that did hair 🥰
Can you share tips on how to maintain healthy locs while having dermatitis? I suffer from that as well. It’s such a hassle but I really want to get locs and that’s stopping me. I get so much dandruff build up even with box braids.
I have eczema. I use black soap to wash my locs. I have a bucket that I put distilled water, black soap, a little jojoba oil, honey and a dash of pink salt. I add just a little water at a time to liquify it like shampoo.
Awesome question
I'm going to try this, I've had my locs for almost 6 years now,I use only oils and water for my retwist.
Me too and aloe Vera had my local for 3 years and only rewist once a year
That’s all I twist my husband’s hair with. He hardly has any build up
I want to do the detox on my daughter locs .. I’m surprised her dreaded up within 3 months but beach water cleanse her hair back in March so I haven’t been retwisting since December but I needed this video
I have to get one of those. I've had locks for more than 12 years and I've never had a lock detox
Hello! That looked really nice and your hair looks clean. I was just watching a loctician’s class and she said you should never use ACV and baking soda together... and to never pour baking soda directly to your scalp because the PH balance will be too high🤷🏾♀️...new subbie
She is RIGHT
NEVER USE VINEGAR IN HAIR AND BAKING SODA

Amazing results. Thanks for sharing.
My re-twist product literally leaves no build up. I wash every two weeks and re-twist when I can (no long than a month without a re-twist). I've had locks since around august 2018. They were regular coils but, taking them down and washing frequently was energy draining. I started my own dreads and have never let anyone in my head, so they don't always look as neat as a stylist would have them. When I watch these Loc Detox vids, the buildup is clearly visible, but mine isn't like that. I'm still getting one tho because I'm curious to see how much gunk is inside of them.

So helpful and informative!! 🥰
It also looks like the detox process tightened up the locs too; they seemed to shrink during the time-lapse portion. Would you say that that's true?
Thank you so much for the content. I have a young son who is rasta and has locs and I was very unsure how to clean his locs but I know how to go about it now. My only concern is will the detox process change the natural hair color? My son is a natural copper/ red head and I'm very new to this process love.🤭 Great job by the way!
Blessed be,
The ACV wash doesn’t change the color of the hair so his natural copper is safe🌞
Happy washing!
@@shaesmith7457 OK! Great to know....Blessed love!
Was this prep for removing her locs? If not is the a good prep if you want to remove your locs? I had long locs like her which I removed and it took months to remove them one by one but I was trying to minimize my hair loss and prevent cutting all my hair off. But in the end I wish I'd just save time and cut but if this prep would have loosened them up for easier unlocking it would been heaven sent at the time... too late for my loc removal but may help someone else considering taking their out who want to minimize hair loss...
I imagine it can help. She said her locs felt lighter after the detox. Removing some that buildup could remove some of the binding substances within the locs.
Thank God that I wash my locks real good and thorough. I wrap my hair going out door.
How often do you detox to get the dirt that's deep down inside
I would think that apple cider vinegar also baking soda will cause a little root damage causing some hair loss n think how hard that stuff is on yr hair strands . My opinion of course.
Awwwww🥰 wifey doing the hair is spectacular
The clear shower head had my attention I dunno why 😂
I wonder should I get a loc detox even though I don't use products in my locs such as gels, wax, ect? I've had my locs for four years and I use Dr. Bonner's soaps, wild growth oil and rose water to retwist my locs which I do every other month or so.
I think so just to get any environmental pollution out 🥰
That what I do.
I would just soak them in hot water minus the extra...
Wow she used the whole thing

Dat Braggs apple Cider vinegar is da truth!!!! From time to time , I use that & half water to wash my natural hair when I just got out of a braid out. Not to mention, it’s very good for cleaning meats & cleaning out ur system, 🤓🤓🤓🤓......

SO INFORMATIVE ❤ LOVE IT
So because uses the baking soda with the ACV, she didn't have to neutralize your hair... to balance the PH? Im wondering because BS cancels out the acidity in vinegar. And if that is so, I'm thinking this is a Cool process. Because I've see people on here only using ACV on their hair 😬
I was thinking the same thing, because normally you have to dilute the acv 1:2.
I’m going to be doing mines soon
Great information... I wonder if this process will works well for natural hair 🤔 Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
I do an ACV rinse for my natural hair once a month. Just make sure to dilute the ACV with water or you'll irritate your scalp. It's a half and half rinse. I love it. Removes all product build up and my scalp is less irritated.
Your hair is beautiful 🤩
I am shadow nerfed too and I work from home. Go figures.
Does routine daily or weekly shampoo get rid of the dirt in your locks?
Yes, but I do recommend a detox at least once a year for a deep clean.
@@AlishaNicole Thank you.
Do you go to a normal dermatologist for prescription shampoo? I swear my boyfriend has dermatitis. As a non-poc who is learning how to take care and help him with his hair, I’m always trying to learn more about what is best to use and what’s not and he has a super sensitive and dry scalp!!
Does that process actually gets the inside of the locs cleaned? I’ve never seen a cleaning where the water actually cones out clear . It’s always cloudy.
