Thanks for all the detail. I have done the vent actuators on an old c200 but now on my clk I will just put up with the clicking actuator. I don't think I would ever get the car back together😅

At 1:16:27 it looks like the part that attaches to the bolt one has to remove from inside the engine compartment could be a bracket that could detach from the big brace assembly. Is that the case? If so, would it be possible to detach it from the brace assembly from the inside, making it possible to remove the latter without accessing the bolt inside the engine compartment?

Unfortunately that’s not the case. The little bracket and the brace is the same assembly. However sawzall can take care of this problem:)
