I bought a 19' K1600B Grand America as it 'fit' myself and my wife the best. The great think about the K16 platform is there are four variants to try and choose from! All with the same great engine, transmission, suspension, etc.
I have a 2015 GTL loaded and it is a phenomenal machine! There is not much more on this current version that is not already on mine… at least not enough to get me to trade.
I just traded my '19 Road Glide Special for a '22 K1600GTL. The stock BMW will smoke the RGS, even with an $8k Stage 4 upgrade. It has incredible tech, and it cost less than the '22 Road Glide Special. Dealer network is overrated. We all know Harley dealers are just clothing stores with motorcycles as a side hustle.
I left Harley after my 2019 Roadglide stopped at 110 mph. Then I found out I couldn’t do anything with it until my warranty expired. Wasn’t much available for it as far as performance upgrades then. The GTL was always on my mind and I decided to get one. I don’t think there’s anything else that could compete with it. If it is I want to know….. This is in a class by itself and I’m not just saying it. If someone doesn’t believe me just go test ride it and get ready to sign on the line!
Man, I like them all, but that one with the space-age paint is insane! Out of curiosity, will you be reviewing the Yamaha FJR or Kawasaki Concours? I love the Goldwing and the BMWs; yet the Yamaha and Kawasaki fit the bill, albeit at a more obtainable price-point. Great video; thanks for making the time to produce it.
Include the Transcontinental for BMW. It's more similar to the other bikes you're looking at and I think a more likely competitor with HD, Indian and Honda.
HEY BMW! Loan Mike a "B" model for the summer to test and review. He is knowledgeable about all types of motorcycle operations, his speaking voice on the videos is especially well-received, and, I think a favorable review by him would increase your sales in the states by a surprisingly large margin. This was another excellent, information-packed, easily understandable example. Thanks, Mike. For me, it would be a tough decision between one of the K1600's or the Goldwing.
When you say Smart Phone. The BMW RT’s Smart phone recharging port does not accommodate the popular Ultra size. Now they just need to add backlit handlebar switches for night riding and blind spot indicators on the mirrors. Great review.

Yeah Dealer Network is a big deal but the situation is different for everyone, The nearest dealer to me is 100 miles and if I don't like them the next is over 200 miles...
@@NewBikeMikeChannel that is one thing that my friends always bring up when we ride cross country, there seems to be a Harley dealer every 50 miles. I had a Harley break down in Colorado while on a two week cross country trip from NY. They took five days to look at it and fix it! I had to rent an Indian in the meantime. Having a close dealer did not help me and actually helped me decide on my BMW replacement.
@@PHICEN I get it, I guess my questions is what would have happened if you were on BMW and it broke down, would the wait been any better? Do they give you a loaner or anything?
@@NewBikeMikeChannel maybe not, but, having a Harley didn’t give me an advantage. I would have been impressed if they gave me priority as an out of town traveler touring through. I get it though, they have only so many hours and they have local and loyal customers that they want to please. The following year the Milwaukee 8 was released and I wanted to upgrade to a Road Glide Ultra… I test rode the BMW K1600GTL and it is a superior motorcycle. Dealer network wasn’t even a consideration based on my experience in Colorado.

They're all nice models. I rode a 2020 grand America and it was very nice. I recently purchased a '22 1250rt and absolutely love it. Very nice bikes.

The K1600 GT is the one I want the most. The K1600B is interesting but being 6’3”, the GT is probably more comfortable for a longer period of time.

I bought a GTL. I’m 76 years old. Too much bike. Little help from the BMW store. Manual is not easy to for help. I miss my GS
