Hi Richard, Great to see you back. I'm the world's biggest Zeppelin fan, but I've never really got into Robert Plant's solo records. I have those first four and the only one I can say I really like is Now and Zen. Those earlier ones sound to me like he was trying too hard not to make music that sounds like Zeppelin. I think that is why I prefer his latter solo albums, because I think he feels that he's put enough distance between himself and his former band. Have you ever heard the Welsh band called Lone Star. They made two very good albums in the late 70s. Their second album called Firing On All Six sounds to me like a prediction of how Plant would sound outside of Zeppelin. Give it a listen. Cheers
Hi there John.I have heard of Lonestar,in fact i think i may have something of theirs on my hardrive. One thing that can be said about Robert Plant is he is not afraid to try different things. Always about the music for him. While i'm not crazy about some of the more recent releases, one can't fault his creativity. At least he's been more productive than old Jimmy Page. Stay well and as always, thanks for the feedback.
Your cat is probably tucked away in bed I take it. No appearance today. I didn't really listen much to Robert plant. Just loved his long hair he had. I enjoyed the vlog as I don't know much about him
