It's gonna look even better. We're nowhere near optimal and for example no one has the counter hit air juggle awareness down or DR movements fully mastered yet. There's a lot left to see.
@@SharkWithFreakinLaserBeam That and I am wondering if more people are going to be learning when to actually parry and punish certain things or perfect parry.

Me and my friends actually screamed when caba tried to flashkick for the kill, we were so upset, then cooled down and was like yeah woulda done same lmao
tbh the best chance of beating mena in the tourny was cabas guile. because caba already beat mena in a previous tourny. guile beats blanka then luke and guile would be a more even match.
I'm loving the FT3 format they got going on in tourneys, it really lets the adaptation skills of the players shine. We're getting INSANE game 5s because of this.
Caba was so dialed in the beginning vs Punk that I thought it was over. People were saying Caba choked, but I don't see it that way. His play dropped just a bit and Punk was mentally tough enough to eek out the win.
Yeah I think he just changed up his playstyle to be more aggressive which was his downfall , if he kept up his keepout game from the first round punk would’ve been mincemeat for sure.
You can see late in the set he's still hitting the perfect parries and guided missile strike anti-air super, Punk just stopped leaving that opening in his approach. The match really was more Punk slowly grinding out Caba and it still came down to the last hit point.
I'm just so so so sad to see that there isn't a single Cammy rep using Hooligan specials even once in any given match. Hope they rework it soon because with her supers, it's her coolest moves
Could be wrong but the problem is, it's airborne. You can't block and as long as they have a DP or a strong AA button (JP) they can reduce your options from it to "fastfall or not" instead of "High/Low/Throw/Divekick/Fastfall"
@@SomeRandomDude821 I mean, you're not wrong, but right now it's way worse than that : the entire cast can just 5P all options except SOMETIMES silent step
@@blackstab3913 next thing is, when there is time for hooligan, you most likely just could have done divekick with less risk... so i think you need specific situations, where you can utilize the forward movement to catch people, while evading stuff etc. otherwise it feels like it's almost always worse than her other options in neutral. you can use it in some cool combos atleast and overall, it is not a bad tool to have in the pocket, especially since this game is brutal with mental stacks.
@@SomeRandomDude821I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason for _SF6_ Hooligan currently seeing so little use by "the pros" is just because of how absurdly good _SF6_ Spin Knuckle is after years of being such a terrible move. Because in basically any situation you’d want to use hooligan, spin knuckle or just a regular jump in divekick is better. Hooligan was literally never a good move, which is odd considering Akuma Demon Flip is so good.
It’s difficult but not impossible. You have to do charge down -> neutral+lk -> up+kick really quickly. Guile’s advanced 2 combo trial has the same trick but with sonic boom instead of flash kick

I cannot imagine what it is like to fight Mena’s Blanka, I already get so pissed fighting random Platinum Blankas, let alone the guy that basically became the God of Blanka himself
I’m a NRS player who’s new to sf6, never played a street fighter before. Been playing since official release. Don’t understand this game very well yet so these restreams with commentary are great. I learn a lot from it. Question - Why is there not much ken? Endless juri but like one ken. Also tons of Luke.. but like one total ken. I get why ryu isn’t played, I don’t think you have to be a sf expert to understand why ryu isn’t played competitively much... but ken seems to be really strong. Or I am missing something
Ken is the most played character in the game by a massive landslide. He also had loads of representation in the tournament, it sorta just happened that all the Ken players got beat is all
Ryu isn't played competitively because he's _still_ vanilla boring - which means he's predictable - despite being strong and having a couple of new moves, and he's not Ken, who's just "better Ryu" just like he was in 3S. Also, literally everyone and their Mom used Ryu or Luke during the Demo timeframe, and Ryu lacks Luke's uniqueness. All of the Ken's in this tournament were beaten, which is why you don't see them in Finals. Also, Ken is traditionally always really strong Online, so don't assume that means he's that strong Offline - although I personally believe that it's about even given how good the netcode in 6 is.
Mixed bag. I'm not great at the game, so I can't give insight of that level regarding their tools, but I did spend basically all my life with competetive online games, and the universal rule is that if a character, strat, or tool is overrepresented in the playerbase, then unless it is truly gamebreaking, it'll actually lose some strength at the top level, due to how much exposure people have to that character. Ken is the most played, so those labbed out matchup-relevant things had a lot of people that it could be tested on. Like, a shitload. Also, what is strong in the online environment don't necessarily translate to the pro level in most games, as the skill difference makes it so that they are almost playing a different game than the one you and I boot up. Again, could be off due to how shit I am at SF, but these are general rules that applied to most competetive games I played/watched.
The problem with Ken is that if you play online for more than five minutes you'll have played a ton of Ken's. Which means pro players have an easier time beating him in early stages of the games life. Part of the reason Mena won with Blanka was that people just aren't familiar with what to do against him yet, and it's literally the opposite for Ken despite him being good.
@@smokelingers oh yeah, I agree with that. when I was watching the stream I was thinking that people were wrong for calling his blanka a pocket character. mena is just incredible

Punk really needs to start implememnting parries for the future. he's so damn good with just natural FG prowess that he made Top 3 convincingly but burn-out will always be a factor and only parry might be the option as you can't block forever. Glad we got SF6 finally, this shit was hype-butt cheek-clinching at times and its only just begun.
