I wish more people wore suits! Wilco, Brilleaux, Big Fig & Johhny B, just Wow, classic line-up, classic band, classic song, just sheer “in yer face” class. Give me a time machine, I want to go back to 1974 & watch all these bands all over again, now that’s my idea of heaven!
No 74 Is not heaven, but this is quite good even if it's from the 70's. I was a teenager then and did like this before I did discover where it came from..and then it's of course where it did go with all its changes but still with the roots . ❤😊
Wilko Johnson did his machine gun moves, his duckwalk, and his herky-jerky dance while still tethered to a guitar lead. Wireless transmitters hadn't been invented yet. Imagine if he had been totally unleashed. Top-notch playing _and_ showmanship. That's rock and roll rhythm and blues 💙.
They had been invented, they were just EXPENSIVE. AC/DC were using them, they were a little noisy and distorted the signal, to the extent that the wireless box sound was Angus youngs sound, he had to use the wireless box in the studio to get the same sound. So you never know, it may have ruined Wilkos sound using wireless. You can not beat a guitar a cable straight to an amp!!
They probably had been invented, the Stones certainly used them in 81. What makes a huge difference now is Bluetooth earpieces enabling the musicians hear a balanced sound of the band.
That Machine gun riff over the lyic "Here comes the warden with a Tommy Gun" Wow! and Wilko's facial expressions are amazing. RIP I wish I had the opportunity to have caught them in concert
Wilko's guitar style and technical rhythm is very fucking unique and difficult to do! RIP Mr. Wilko Johnson thanks for your music and incredible style and vocals! 🎸🔥🎛️
Wilco Johnson was an English teacher. His knowledgeof literature, however, far exceeds that of the average English teacher. He faced death with dignity and bravery and then beat it. Top man.
The pupil wanting spanked in class, made me laugh, he was caught on camera by her fellow students like a deer in the headlights... there she was, knee high boots, short skirt(frilly knickers,as she told Wilko) and her hair in bunches, Wilko all but admitted that was his toughest gig...glad he got to keep a copy of that photo...there's some lady now in her late 60's probably mourning his passing...RIP Legend! :)
Mr. John Wilkinson is one of the toughest guitarist, ever, Mr. Brilleaux is one of the best singers ever! Then the beat of the Big figure and John B Sparks makes it fabulous.
Where was I ? 62 and only getting into them now. Possibly too stoned to know what the hell was going on back then. My musical taste was and is pretty eclectic. Everything from Beethoven to the Beatles. But Dr feelgood escaped my attention. Thank God I'm still alive and that technology has allowed me to find these Vids👍
@@WillyEckaslike Sorry no offence but was never really into the stranglers. The Clash. Sex Pistols. Exray Specs. To name but a few punk bands. But for some reason I never really dug the stranglers.
The Big Figure... what more to say... never a beat out of place, and bearly breaking a bead of sweat while carrying the whole performance on his back...
Lee was actually a mechanic by trade. According to the other band members, if their 'tour bus' ever broke down, he'd get underneath - white suit and all - and fix it. Was the suit ever cleaned? No. They did dirt, and it was good.
In 2012, Wilko Johnson, the iconic rock star and founder of legendary Essex band Dr Feelgood was told he had a year to live. He refused treatment and chose to spend his time living meaningfully. Then, a miracle happened… Wilko: Love and Death and Rock ‘n Roll tells the incredible true story of this rock legend. It’s a celebration of life, set to Wilko’s music played live. Catch the acclaimed play, following its hit run at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. “Fond and funny” Daily Mail “Brilliant” The Spectator
I was fortunate enough to see them a few times live, always with Wilko. started off bottome of the bill in a 5 or 6 band lineup at the Roundhouse, and quickly worked their way up until they were headliners. One of the best r'n'b/r'n'r bands evr to grace a stage.
Fuck fuckin me how good? Wilko fuckin ooooozes class and Lee well ..see you in heaven dude..life was never the same after seeing df when I was 13.. now that's 43 years ago FFS
There was a time Dr Feelgood played regularly down my way often giggling with The Hamsters as both Essex boys and even saw them once with John Otway. Despite my taste in music being more punk rock these gigs were amazing as both bands were great live but also great musicians.
Je confirme. Je les ai vus à Lyon en 79. J'avais 18 ans.
Ace .
Lee WAS Brilliant !!!and WHAT A BAND 😂g
RIP Wilko - no one played the guitar like you! Crazy man!!!
I was lucky enough to see him a few years ago "still alive tour"
One of the most coolest band in history

Oh Man I love that!!! The expression on his face is Amazing!! Great entertainer!!
He means BIZ… with that machine guitar man!!!!!!
Back before rap and other "music" abominations existed.

Wrong: they HAD been invented but were in their infancy.
I’d suggest doing your research before commenting. Ok boomer?
That Machine gun riff over the lyic "Here comes the warden with a Tommy Gun" Wow! and Wilko's facial expressions are amazing.

He is a legend. The band is a legend. Thankyou for the journey.
Another good 'un gone, Guitar genius Wilko RIP XXXXX
Wilko's guitar style and technical rhythm is very fucking unique and difficult to do!
RIP Mr. Wilko Johnson thanks for your music and incredible style and vocals! 🎸🔥🎛️
Best cover ever. RIP John Wilkinson!
Gig-In-Peace, Wilko, one of the greats, thank you for so many additions to the soundtrack of my life.
Farewell Wilko, you really will be missed by many.
Just heard the sad news of Wilko's passing. Gone but never to be forgotten.😭
My God, they’re good. A band I always wish I’d seen live.
Saw them in 74/5. They really were that good.
Fabulous..takes me right back there...!!..And sadly those years are gone...and taken so many with them...!!!!
A quintessential performance from one of the best live bands ever.
Agree 💯 My favourite Band Of All Time.
A very clever educated Man and a Magnificent Musician.
Dirty, sweaty, earthy rhythm and blues (real rhythm and blues) from Canvey Island's finest export, the incomparable Dr Feelgood.
What about Eddie and the Hotrods? Didn't they hail from Canvey Island?
Spot on ,one of the best live bands we saw in the 70s ,and that's saying a lot .
Proper
What a voice 👍
Gran banda! Heroes de mi adolescencia en los '70. Saludos desde Argentina!!
Wilco Johnson was an English teacher. His knowledgeof literature, however, far exceeds that of the average English teacher.

sadly death always wins in the end. RIP wilko

Unbeatable. Intensity and delivery. Best version of this classic song. The start is so menacing
Wilko's machine gunning at the beginning of Riot...total genius!!
I was lucky enough to see them when I was at university around 1975/76. A brilliant band.
Mr. John Wilkinson is one of the toughest guitarist, ever, Mr. Brilleaux is one of the best singers ever! Then the beat of the Big figure and John B Sparks makes it fabulous.
SON FABULOSOS
Totally agree Totally unique there's been no band like them before or since there will NEVER EVER be another band like the ORIGIONAL Dr Feelgood
One of the tightest units, ever !
I agree, but I found it interesting that you use Wilko's real name but not Lee's.
@@stevebowness9435 They're great fun but this is simply Electric Chicago Blues 1950s Otis Rush or Muddy.
My wife and I took the lymphoma journey last year. Wish Lee and Wilko could have been saved. Go brightly, brothers.
Just about the best Rhythm section ever backing two charismatic frontmen.

The Clash. Sex Pistols.
Exray Specs. To name but a few punk bands.
But for some reason I never really dug the stranglers.
Just how i feel ! Couldn't agree with you more !
I'm 60 and had never heard of them. Just learned about them in a biography of Blondie I'm reading right now - they were an influence on that band.
RIP Wilko. Rock it in heaven for us buddy
The Dr always makes you feel good
This was the clip that put me on to Dr Feelgood, oh so many years ago. Great to see it again.
Wow, I had forgotten about this song. It was a hit in the US around 1957 . If fits these guys very well.
Here to celebrate Wilko's life. RIP fella.
3人揃って前進するところ好き
I saw them live in Stockholm 1975, fell in love with their music at once. Was 19 at the time............
Regardless of genre, this is an A++ performance. 100 % tight and flawless.
love Wilko and Brilleaux and the feelgoods xx r.i.p. both xx
What a Band! "Get yer Heads On" It's going to be a hell of a night!!!!!
999 reference? Feeling Alright With the Crew.
The Big Figure... what more to say... never a beat out of place, and bearly breaking a bead of sweat while carrying the whole performance on his back...
I'm almost certain that Lee Brilleaux was the inspiration for the Gene Hunt character in Life on Mars. Pure power on stage to a man, sadly missed.
the best band by far I ever got to see
Two of the best Front Men in the business.....!!!!!!!
This has been stuck in my head all day
Cool! They look really menacing here, more like a gang than a band. Especially Wilko scares me. 😎👍🏻
The Sweeney with guitars and drums 👌 😍
First time I heard "Milk and alcohol I knew the music for me, especially after the B side "Every kind of vice. Just perfect.
Lee's suit should be at a museum.
t'would stand up on its own ! :-)
Probably is by now
Lee was actually a mechanic by trade. According to the other band members, if their 'tour bus' ever broke down, he'd get underneath - white suit and all - and fix it. Was the suit ever cleaned? No. They did dirt, and it was good.
It was. But one day it just got up and walked out
In the Rock & Roll Wardrobe of Fame!
Classic Dr Feelgood👍

j'adore ce guitariste tout fou et quelle gueule
Saw them In Gravesend (Kent) circa 1972.. Amazing gig..
saw them in Fulham at the Golden Lion in 72.Still sounds good.
Top class Wilko
The first band I ever heard live, and possibly on the same tour (1975). And I still love 'em.
Here we are... We were lucky boys
Just superb rock...raw and wild
J’adore Doc Feelgood
Je les ai vu au printemps 2023 au Grimaldi forum à Monaco
Ct énorme 🎉
Bonne journée les fans 🎉
Super duper! Great live band! Grounding.
The Lonely Rocker digs this kinda music! Great stuff!
This is absolute heaven!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Absolutely magic.
Wilko❤ Rest In Peace!
always loved this one
A really excellent cover of the original, beats the pants off the Blues Brothers cover.
Commander Cody used to do it in 1974...
I'd disagree but I think this is just as good as The Blues Brothers cover.
God I wish I had seen them live! Saw Wilko on University Challenge last night - shame he did not have his guitar!
I was fortunate enough to see them a few times live, always with Wilko. started off bottome of the bill in a 5 or 6 band lineup at the Roundhouse, and quickly worked their way up until they were headliners. One of the best r'n'b/r'n'r bands evr to grace a stage.
I only saw the Feelgoods once and Wilko Johnson at Dingwall's. Both nights brilliant, about 10 years apart.
Rock on forever, Wilko and Lee...
best rock n roll band ever.
WOW!!!
Wilco is the sniper of Rock and Roll. Is a autentic menace!
Was thinkin' before it began... this had better be good... for I done heard the original...
Was not disappointed.
3:10 probably one of r & r's greatest filmed moments.
hell, the real side of music...what more can i say!

There was a time Dr Feelgood played regularly down my way often giggling with The Hamsters as both Essex boys and even saw them once with John Otway. Despite my taste in music being more punk rock these gigs were amazing as both bands were great live but also great musicians.
Blimey that's a blast from the past, saw the Hamsters at the Half Moon in Putney years ago
@Andy Saw them many times but one memorable night as Dr F were on the same bill was Wycombe Town Hall
You guys were the masters. It's too bad it didn't pick up in the states and get the love it should have at the time
The puppies privates, no fucking doubt about it. The band that gave birth to The Clash. Need I say more.......
Thank you! \m/
when I'm down ... I come back to my favorite doctor and I feel good ^-^
perfection.
super
reminds me a bit of Framed by Sensational Alex Harvey band
that’s because they both use a stop time riff ala Muddy Waters.
Lee's psychopathic eyes are unplayable rip
Le son ....rien à dire😁
The favorite band of real french rock'n'rollers from the 80's...Sure!
sure? NOT THE ROCK HARD
