Autogenic Training (AT) - Self-Regulation Meditation

- In today's practice, we practice self-regulation using the standard approach called Autogenic Training (AT). Often referred to as self-hypnosis, this practice established by Schultz involves the silent recitation of several formulas, or phrases. First mindfully observing different areas of the body, we then imagine them become more and more relaxed and settled. The phrases and sensations we focus on are:
1) Heaviness
2) Warmth
3) Steady Heart
4) Effortless Breath
5) Warm Abdomen
6) Cool Forehead
Practicing this daily for several weeks allows you to gain some mastery of self-regulating the nervous system and body.
