I still think that zafina is kinda weak.. i believed that it would be great to see her getting buffed on frames. They need to make df2 15 frames , her f 1+2 either change the frame advantage on block or the start up frames to finaly make it useful, also her b1+2 being in neutral again and generally buff tarantula stance cause it gets counter played really easy
1:58 It'd existed since TEKKEN 7 Patch 5.00 finds although I don't think she has any Backturn moves beside universal ones that are nerfed although you can land i14 df34 or i13 df121 string if you land Backturn 1 to either 4 they're all +8 On-Hit (of course BT1 and BT2 in T7 lol). This'll work well near walls or when you're at the cusp of the walls to initiate a camera rotator switch.
Zaf could really benefit from 15 frame launcher, the full crouch sweep should launch, she should have a BT low, TRT should have a reversal or parry, she should have a throw that launches/splats/breaks floors, F+3 or FF+2 should be armor like everyone else has, stomp should go into mantis. The damage nerf on WS 1,2 seems weird. D/B 1+2, 1+2 should be less interruptible . She should be able to go into TRT from the ground. TRT should have a throw that mounts. SCR d+3+4 should be able to choose TRT or MNT. 2,2, 1+2 sjould be able to cancel the 1+2 into SCR. Bring back MNT 3,4,3 string
i literally just found out about the tarantula df1 guaranteed hit after a tarantula df1 heat dash (because I've been doing b3 instead) but it's such a bad timing that they removed that tech just when i knew about it😭😭

Yup pretty much. She has the tool to fight back but she barely do any damage. Meanwhile Lars, Reina, Jun and almost the rest of the cast can do about 75 + while Zafina has to spend resources to even come close. I would rather a damage buff instead of the plus frames imo.
I think she’s fine where she is imo. Every character has some sort of easy high damage combo for no reason and I think that just needs to be toned down which would encourage people to play more neutral…..hopefully.

She’s not ment to play aggressive she was always tactical and evasive. If they just toned down everyone’s brain dead aggression and bring back neutral I think she would be in a better spot. Not perfect but better.
I'm so sad that Zafina didn't get any buffs this patch. I saw someone say that "Zafina already got her buffs in 1.04". Zafina and Asuka basically got the same types of buffs in 1.04 but Asuka got way more this time. Every other character has so many cool things and tools they can use, but Zafina feels so limited because so many of her moves are too slow, terrible on block, and are useless for combo variety. They also didn't need to reduce the damage on her while rising 1, 2 just because it's more consistent now. The damage was already low... ugh. Frustrating. I picked her up after getting Xiaoyu to Fujin, got Zafina to Fujin, and am now playing Jun. The lack of freedom in playstyle is so apparent on Zafina now that I have experience with other characters to compare her to. I know every character is unique and shouldn't have the same strengths, but I can't help feeling like im at a disadvantage for using her as my primary character.
The lack of combo damage feels like T7 Lili all over again. I find it funny how it seems like Lili and Zafina just switched places in the meta from T7 to T8
Zafina is my main, but she is becoming so hard to use. It’s bad enough she gives my control pad an intense workout, but these nerfs aren’t helping. I still feel the claw self-damage is too high.
Fine my thing is what does she have to compensate? Steve has better pressure than zafina and got his stances buffed. The changes hit zafina more severely because she struggles to get 70 damage and has to get very creative to get over 70 damage without walls… she was one of the few characters that really needed to wall stagger. Steve and kazuya also needed that too. Mind you zafina doesn’t have reliable lows, you can’t spam d3 at the higher level.
@@wisdomseeker0142 I think the reason she didn't get any compensation is because she was affected by collateral damage. Translation: They took a shotgun approach and unfortunately the spread of that gunfire hit Zafina as well. You said it yourself, she got a lot of stealth buffs/nerfs. That tells me that most of what you showed was an unforeseen consequence because she wasn't really even on the devs radar to begin with. The only thing Zafina players can do now is what you did - bring awareness to her situation and get her some buffs. Because right now she was simply guilty by association.
They also nerf her guaranteed heat dash from trt df1 and df4,1 which is b3 ..from 80 percent scaling to 67 percent she totally lost4 points of dmg ooof
Unfortunately i don't have any records of the previous patch but I'll try to post it on X.. compared it to some zaf videos from previous patches and both scales to 64% which deals 14 damage percent unlike the previous one which is 80 percent

I’m friends with a top zafina player who made top 8 internationally… no she’s not and me and him both agree. His name is grandkintarro….

they dont want the female charaters to thrive unless the like them

Not a total nerf since wr 3 connects now for 55 dmg and better oki positioning, f1+2 also connects (56 dmg) , and at the wall df1,2
that change is across the board
