Amazing video, I just hit Bushin for the first time and this came around at the perfect timing so that I don't get hit in the face with a wall (too hard at least). The "Don't care about losing because you need the experience and knowledge" is an amazing mentality to have. I still have a long way to go but Hopefully sometime I can find you in ranked 😀. Hope you keep doing these, they are always very helpful and very well done.
been a devil jin main from tekken 5 and honestly seing you and qudans and the amount of pure skill from you and him really helps me much love and keep up the best vids
I started playing Tekken 5 DR with Eddy Gordo, but it was very easy and boring to play with him, everyone sent me bad messages when I won!!, so I chose the most difficult character in the game so that this would stop happening, and I'm glad it did because until today I only play Deviljin, I don't like any other character, and if TK8 didn't have this character I wouldn't have bought the game, Qudans has always been the best Deviljin player for me, better than Knee in my opinion, now we have Momo who speaks English and helps to better understand the game in addition to being an above average player. Keep up
I got all the way to Emperor, then I got shot down to King and I’ve stuck here for about 2 months now. I definitely think my own gameplan has been what’s got me this high but I have a hard time learning matchups and in all honesty, accepting a loss. I think imma watch this when I play to remind me it’s important to lose in order to learn. Thank you
Just wanted to share my experience that I've been plateauing between tekken emperor-tekken king for months with devil jin in asia region and its tough implementing an offensive game plan when people are more aware of your mixup/offense plan and just start hard ducking you because you have no solid quick mid check to get your momentum going besides df1 and it being horrible on block. Its tough to get consistent wins. I try to lab more but burn out, stop playing, and forget what I learn which ruins my consistency so I keep falling and climbing back through the same ranks. Helpful video as always Momo! Thanks for the guides.
I couldn't have been more happy about the release of such an instructive video at this point in time. I set my goal to tekken king with Leroy because I realized myself that I missed the general knowledge, movement and throw break experience needed to aim higher, but I also knew I could get there just thanks to how much I mastered my character in the few hours I poured in tekken 7 and 8 and the basic skills acquired in the previous chapters of the saga. After that, I told myself I wanted to go back to some other characters I enjoy, but most of all, learn Mishimas, and just pause the ranking up in favor of practice. I've always been a fan of Devil Jin but I've never liked it as much as now. The developers really did an amazing job at evolving the character's concept. So, since I discovered you through TMM, I started following your content on youtube. A few days ago I finally reached tekken king and you released this video. Bless you and your dedication to your main my man, I can't wait to lab my brains out and then go back to the grind of the golden ranks
Hey Momo been watching for a while and i think you’d be the first person to make a video on all the specifics regarding devil Jin’s ki charge. As I’m finding it hard to learn how to use it properly
Momo I'm very happy that you teach us, it's nice to learn something from the best devil jin player. I know you're second in the ranking but for me you're the best. Greetings from Poland! 🇵🇱
I'm currently fujin with Jin and Lars and battle ruler with Devil Jin. Once I hit fujin with Devil Jin, I'm going to work on getting all three to tekken king. This video will REALLY help me with that long journey. Thank you!
as someone who has almost done that with asuka feng and panda it is a bad idea. your prowess is going to broken which is gonna make it so much harder to rank up further.
Honestly this advice doesn't even apply strictly to just Devil Jin, rather anyone playing any character in t8. Replay application bit at the end in particular lit up a light bulb for me. Cheers man
Thanks Momo for another interesting guide. I was looking forward how to improve my red ranks play. I must however disagree on the main tip, which is whiff punishment. First: red ranks do not whiff all that much, unless you have pro-level KBD and movement in general - that is probably, why you get that impression - because you do. For my experience, when I was focusing on this kind of play, I lost a lot more despite practice. What however works for me is simply, to improve offense more and more. Most of the time one dropped combo, or not to use too many highs on evading characters, is much more important. Even if back in a days I looked online-ranks guides like TMMs, all that tips are important, but when the coach start loosing the match, he just “turns on” incredible offense and i.e. hit opponent for 70% of HP :P So for me it is: hit as hard as strong as possible without letting your opponent do the same (but for me learning characters strings gets more reward than whiff). Please don’t make me wrong - I’m not saying it’s a bad tip, but rather that: it requires much more skill than it looks. Any DJ in red ranks who managed to purple? How you did it?! :) Cheers
Thanks for the video, can you do a video regarding your mindset towards lows, when do you like to use them, and what should my attitude be toward them. Should i eat as much lows as possible because eating a low is better than getting launched or do i try to predict them, etc.
ok I started playing Tekken 8 after a decade of stopping I have practically not played 7, and I have played 6 for half its life. 87 win streak everything seemed easy, hit the rajin and hardstuck here 🤭
Do you think it’s less time efficient to lab every single match even if you win the set if you realize that your opponent did stuff you’re not familiar with? I’m at the point where i am willing to lab every single interaction but i want to also be time efficient
you don't have to lab every single thing, just the stuff you think you have the most trouble dealing with/obvious flowcharts that you don't know how to counter/duckable strings/punishment
Couldn't agree more. The inputs for his combos are difficult but feel so rewarding, on top of the already hard electric and wavu inputs. It seems like he dosent have much in his kit until you learn how to pressure with wavu 50/50s, then he feels alot stronger.
@@WEST-LINE yeah on top of the at it feels like not only his poking but most of his tools have little range and are just downgraded tools that other mishimas have like comparing Dvj’s standing 4 to Jin’s standing 4 Jin’s staggers on counter hit and has better frames when the animation for the move between both the characters are almost identical
Me chilling in Tekken King only to randomly find MomoDog and KingJae in my ranked.. smh. Edit: Best hint vs Dragunov and Yoshi abusers, don't rematch them and just alt f4 before game begins until they get nerfed to be playable against without wanting to end it all. Also Momo, amazing video in overall, i just wonder why does your voice Echo when you talk louder than usual?

Facts I'm in fujin for the first time so this really helped me
I don't even watch your content for the DVJ specifics, I just find your content to be so informative it's insane 🙏
Thanks bro, definitely gonna add this valuable knowledge into my doc and ultimately in my game. Dvj forever bra

clean video FR :O
thanks again for the coaching
Very informative. Never have used replays to work on alternatives. Great tip Momo 👍
It was fun watching the run on stream bro!

I watch this video one time and I turned into a god of destruction the next day with dvj 😂💯

i watched this, promoted to fujin then lost 4 times in a row
Hey momo can you please go over your input shortcuts, I’d really appreciate it.Glad your back, can’t wait for the qudans videos :)
dvj since psp tekken 5dr my first ever tekken
Really cool guide. I was wondering what kind of controller do you use

Time to hit GoD!
Been stuck at shinryu for 6 months now (Kazuya)! I'm beginning to believe that this game just isn't for everyone 😂
Okay I got to Tenryu I change my mind
It takes a looooong time to learn the game
great stuff
Wait how do you have white wings?
I'm at Kishin and rotate from Kishin back to Fujin and then back to Kishin xd
Me too it's just hard and honestly i'm Bushin (and just past TK)
Can you make a video about what you learned from Qudans when the two oof you talked
Stupid question but how did you change your wings lol
153 winstreak. hahahah i cannot. the man's a legend
ok I started playing Tekken 8 after a decade of stopping I have practically not played 7, and I have played 6 for half its life. 87 win streak everything seemed easy, hit the rajin and hardstuck here 🤭
And then I run into a lidia or eddy and the game doesnt let me lab
Asking anyone. Is a hit box or an arcade stick better for tekken? I think the hitbox is good for electrics but I struggle with movement.
is qudans still playing as a profesional player ?? idk if u talk with him but u and him are my masters on how to play devil jin
He's actively competing right now, I talk with him regularly!

Do you think playing more than one character is not as efficient as focusing on one main character only.
yes
Are u on pad, stick, leverless, or keyboard?
razer raion pad

It’s more rewarding because it’s such a challenge but man as someone who plays an “easy top tier” going back to DVJ feels like an uphill battle
Dont even mention jin next to djin. Its just disgusting. Jin is broken top tier that is piss easy. Djin is a complete oposite
Me who is a ranger:
How to get the black and white wings for DVJ
PC Mod
I have a better guide.
Step 1: Play Jin instead.
Done.
