  • Something I am most proud of. Getting sober after 7 years is one of my biggest achievements in my personal life because of how much I tried and failed over and over again. I always said I would and I never did but here we are.. and we aren't going back. Hopefully some people can relate

    Remember, this was for me.
You may see similar things, a few different, or even all different.
Maybe weed is fine for you and you see no issues when you use it, which is definitely possible
    Everyone is different

Good on you bro but just some advice to you, don't worry about how many days you are sober because many people that live this way of life are still trapped in this idea of being an addict and that's exactly why they eventually relapse. My advice is just move on and go on with your next adventure in life. You were young, you had fun, you had experiences with that stuff but that's it, it was just a chapter and now on to the next. You are still young btw, but man, life it too short to count days of being sober, that's not our purpose here. Find your purpose and live it! You look like a good man and have tons of energy to make positive change for yourself and others so keep it up man, good luck with your journey!

quitting doesn’t only improve your sleep but it improves your REM sleep which is connected to retaining things you learnt, processing trauma etc.. my biggest motivation to never be a chronic smoker again & to quit for now is that i want to be smarter. i have limited time to learn a lot and i will still never learn all the things i want to. weed is going to slow me down and lessen my potential. maybe after my frontal lobe fully develops i may partake more sparingly but not now.
also i have ptsd and i gyat to get my brain to hurry the fuck up and process ts

Here's my experience after completely quitting after several years of doing it on a nightly basis: After the initial urges go away within a few days, the crazy vivid dreams start. This can go on for ages and can be quite disruptive to your sleep. This is the only real negative long term withdrawal effect that I've noticed. There are several benefits, however; Having a much more balanced mood is the best thing as well as an improved memory. I've also been able to get things done much quicker and have more desire to go out and do things. I loved the feeling of getting high but it's honestly better to be normal!

I’ve been doing it nightly for about a year now and I guess constantly coming off of it has made my vision really weird. It makes me feel like I’m looking through a camera that’s pointing where I’m looking. I’ve also just felt really distant from everything, have you experienced any of this?

Any time you bring it up people just brush it off as "not as bad" as other drugs. Which is true. But that doesnt mean it's healthy either. Oreos are healthier than methamphetamine, but eating Oreos 3 times a day isnt healthy. I'll do an edible once every few weeks when I have a day off. But a lot of people don't have the ability to limit their intake and really overdo it.

I wish people talked more about weed's impact on a person's young mind as it is developing. The human brain completes it's full development in mid to late 20s. This is why Weed should even be touched until about the 30's. Destroying brain cells before they develop is going to have long term effects.

It's really not that bad imo so long as you're not searching for it daily. I'll take a couple edibles a week just to help me decompress at the end of a hard day. Gives me an insane body high and after working out there's honestly not much better than it. I feel like it's really how you consume it.

My neighbour smokes a lot of weed, just makes her lazy, never sorts her problems out. You need a bit of hardship to get motivated, if you are zonked out all the time nothing gets done in your life, alright for a short while but not forever.

From a 54 yr old man who has seen people serve multiple yrs for having an ounce of weed .to seeing videos like this makes me think of two things-
    - Don't trust the powers that be,that they won't reverse the marijuana laws.
    - you are a young guy, and the Internet is forever, make sure you think closely before posting any drug use.

The biggest one for me so far is the feeling alive part. I actually want to do things outside of the house now. Also the eating part is kind of giving me troubles as I don’t want to eat much anymore, which is fine for now because I have some extra LBs to lose but I feel like I have to force myself to eat and I hate that. I’m hoping that it comes back to normal like you said it does. Also your delts are absolutely popping in this video my guy!

I’ve been smoking weed for 20 years everyday, I am now off it for 37 days, the first week was the worst, but after the 2nd-3rd week it got a lot easier, the worst part was the irritability and anger but it’s been going away since I started doing cardio and cold showers and breathing exercises, it’s been totally worth because now all the small things in life are more enjoyable and fun
