Funny that this came across my feed the same day I planned to quit weed for good. I've lost the past 2-3 years of my life to this plant. I've lost relationships and opportunities I could've made something great out of. All my friends are about to graduate college next year or have already graduated. I like viewing content like this because it helps give me a sense of something to look forward to while also discrediting my fears that I will be this socially inept and dumb forever. It feels like I've completely derailed my life at 21 years old. However, I know this is most likely just the weed talking through paranoia and fear. When you talked about feeling more alive, it really resonated with me as I remember saying the same thing at the peak of my mental/physical health directly before I started smoking. I want that drive and hunger for life again. I want to feel like ME again. Thank you for posting this. Here's to a lifelong commitment to feeling alive for all of us on our sobriety journey. :)

I worked at Lidl. Some days I was assigned at 5AM sharp to enter the freezer and restock it. Mind you that temp was -26Celcius. I was so sleepless and tired on one hand, on the other hand I had to be done with the freezer because we had 2 hours of deadline before the store opened at 7am. I was feeling my bones getting crashed, that shi was so unhealthy!

You’re never gonna get put anywhere else unless you ask to get trained somewhere different. It’s the same for people who get stuck building or unloading walls in trailers. Talk to your learning ambassadors (the blue vest people) and ask what classes you can get put on and then nag your AM everyday to put a ticket up for you. If you’re a good worker they’ll see face.

Why haven't you stood up to them are been putting in applications elsewhere? Your doing this to yourself at this point, you find another job then tell them your leaving if they put you in the freezer, find leverage and use it...

the reason they always throw you in the freezer is bc you are really good at it or bc they have beef with you that you’re aware of. if it isn’t the second then BE flattered. It may be a shit job but it shows that people see more for you than this. I was there doing those jobs forever but am now in software on salary, keep showing up and don’t let it get to you. Grind or die you’ll make it out of there 100%

I am so sorry man. I relate to this so much. After 3 weeks of working there (only getting ambient and chiller), suddenly I get freezer every day since (been working there for 1.5 months now). I don’t see my other coworkers in the freezer ever. That orange ski mask is terrible, the eye slot is so small that the mask is constantly getting lint and rubbing/scratching my eyeballs. I’m constantly breathing in the little lints too. I can’t even use the touch screen on my scanner without taking off the bulky ass glove. I get home at the end of the day and my eyeballs are IN PAIN from squinting. I can’t wear my glasses in the freezer because they fog up. So I have to squint due to my own bad eye sight as well as the cold air. At the end of the freezer my face is so red due to being cold burned. At my location the shelves are so damn high and I have to get the ladder every few items but there’s barely any ladders available so I have to walk around looking for one. The snow suit weighs so much that I get back aches and can barely walk with it on.

For the people saying that I should speak up, I literally said in the video that I asked and they gave me some bs response. I told them about mine and the workers hands the next day and they basically gave me another bs response And then the day after that they put me in the freezer AGAIN for the 5000th time straight so I deadass j walked out and quit on the spot😭. Never the guy to ever do that. Always on time, always staying after at every job I’ve ever work. There for years, great relationships. But this one…they can smd real shit.

I had a Health teacher who had a job like this exept he had to move popsicles in and out of a giant freezer like the one you're talking about, he worked 3 days and got so sick he just had to quit dont work a freezer job unless you got a giant fur coat

You’re easily gonna get arthritis in your hands, legs and hips, and or experience lung issues like incline to pneumonia. For awhile I had developed a bad cough then it went away when I left job. I had worked bakery at a store where I had to go to freezer a few times and after a year my hands hurt randomly and I’m in my twenties imagine people who are older. I highly recommend apply for a city job as a recreational leader, easily you can move up, attend college under FASFA or work a school district job. Is that freezer task specifically written in your hire contract? With corporate companies they easily take advantage of people that work hard, honestly just start saying no. Find a job that’s not physically demanding but uses your intelligence. Even the library’s, DMV or just front desk at a hospital or vet. Find something you care about and that won’t affect your health physically.
