The Duchy of Croatia in 867: Forging a Kingdom | Crusader Kings 3
- "Forging a Kingdom" is a Crusader Kings 3 series preceding the historical formation of the Kingdom of Croatia. Along with several Let's Play branches, it will contain educational videos about the real history of Croatia, with the purpose of enriching the basic gameplay experience and serving as a platform for new role-playing ideas.
In this episode, we're diving into the year 867, the earliest CK3 start date, and looking at one of the most turbulent times in Croatian history. We're going to learn about the conflict between the Trpimirović and Domagojević dynasties which started the Croatian journey to independence and lead to the formation of the medieval kingdom of Croatia.

Odlična ideja i provedba.
Evo sad su dostupni i hr i en!
Fantastic. My countrys history present through video games? Yes please!
Awesome! I love the brief but informative presentation. You should do about other medieval realms
I'd love to do that, it's only a question of time :) We'll see
Ja sam ovo našo u reditu
Dobrodošao! :D
Jedva čekam još! Super edukativno :)
Hvala!
I was so excited for this! I hope you do the let’s play now with Royal Court! Loving the video!
Thank you nice video I always watch great youtubers and twitch streams playing other countries in every paradox game I hope they see this video and play as Croatia my beautiful land
Fenomenalan video stvarno, ako imas jos kakvih starijih dijelova hrvatske povijesti za ovako uvesti i opisati bilo bi odlicno. Sazeto a jasno sve. Zivio
This is pretty amazing, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Pri dobro, molin te nastavi!
Odlicno izvedeno! Ako ovo zazivi, moglo bi postati prilicno popularno. Drzim ti fige! :)
Stari, baš sam danas počeo igrat CK3, tražim videa o tome kak igra šljaka i naletim na ovo - svaka čast. Sve najbolje.
Dolazim s hreddita. Moram ti rec da ti kanal izgleda odlican i underrated. Video je kvalitetan i edukativan.
Sad cu polako sirit teme, razvijat format, animacije itd... Vidim jako puno mjesta za napredak pa me to tjera dalje
@@playcuriously2314 Tako treba ljudino! Moram priznat editing ti je jako dobar. Sta koristis? I mislis li da ck3 vrijedi tolko para?
Love it! Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Fenomenalno i prezanimljivo!
Hvala!
Odlično!
Odličan video
Hvala!
Svaka čast
Hvala!
Perfect.
Can you make more videos about Croatian rulers.
That's the idea, I'll get into the game, give these characters custom traits and talk about them a bit, do a few playthroughs and then we'll go further in history. That's the plan for now at least! :)

Dobro odrađeno 😁
History to modern!
It's interesting that in CS3 there is Croatian culture in the Carpathians. I stumble on it by accident, and had to look down - it seems that those are white Croats..
True, but thats just a wild theory still x)
@@Bleilock1 as far as I read through it, it's not contested in essence, meaning if Croats where there before they migrated south as they were, and that is proven by sources, but the question is - was there a polity of some kind that went by that name and identity - and that is not likely, or was very much short lived.
@@HorukAI theory of white croatia is nothing but a a story to enforce national myth during the rise of nationalism in 18th century
It was created during illyrian spring, and it was created with such intent that our national claim cant be contested, thats why it fits so "perfectly"
But science doesnt prove it
Croatians did migrate from east along with serbians, along with some other slavic tribes, but specifics are yet unknown
Those "white and blue croatians" it seems they were slavic tribe that was there before "modern" croatians tribes migrated south-west, not much is yet known genetically-wise
But thats the latest study
Check what science says, not historians
Sadly history is riddled with politics and ideology, and i understand why we needed strong national myth back in the day
But today truth and science reign supreme
Im glad to see there are people interested in croatian history though
Its as fascinating as the rest of countries, with lots of turmoil, we kinda lucky we are here today haha
@@Bleilock1 Since when can science prove people migration instead of historians using sources? How would that even work?
And besides, white croats WERE mentioned by medieval sources, for instance in Primary Chronicle by Nestor, De Administranto Imperio by Constantine VII, and in documents by the traveler Wulfstan von Haithabu who traveled through Eastern Europe and wrote about the tribes there.
Also blue croats were never mentioned.
@@blindtherapper2470 dude, historians are scientists...
Unless you are living in some desert third world country
But in the modern west
History is one branch of science haha
Plus funny enough, modern historians in basically every documentary i have watched lately
They generally consider byzantine evidence and sources unreliable
Because they wrote a lot of stuff that was not true to keep peace in the empire
And they also liked to give already known names to unknown tribes, because they thought they were the same people/barberians (and more often than not they were not the same people I.E. ventths)
And the last point
You do understand we use genetical engineering and science when we are looking for heritage of nations
You really think humanity only has "historians" to say what they think happened in the past?
We are scientific society dude, a lot of branches are analyzing history
We do not make shit up
Go read more ffs
I cant wait until Tomislav
pa ovo je super, de napravi dokumentarac
Rashka never had Bosnia though
When is the video coming out?
Soon™ :D haha, kidding, I actually ended up writing 3 extra videos lol - one about historical accuracy in CK3 and another two about a mod that I made for the Forging a Kingdom series, which are going to be released before the series actually begin. One of them is already recorded and coming out this week! I plan on doing them fairly quickly now, so the playthroughs are coming in about two or three weeks I'd say.

😂😂😂😂Raška was NEVER that big.It was županija of Croatian kingdom. It didnt ehzist in 7th century.
As it is written in Supetarski kartular being kept in Split's chatedral there are 5 banovinas in Kingdom and 5 bans are electing the king. Each banovina is decided in županijas(counties)...abd Raška is one of them.
If furher explenation is need it I will explain.Abd Tomislav was 4th king of Croatia.
Also...very important...we have been internationaly recognized as soverign country and nation at June 8th 852 a.d
State was maybe called Croatia but Serbs been rulers.... And you can see that in any Church that survived your demolition...
