That would be so cool! The only comic I ever truly collected growing up was the Turtles, which looking back is quite surprising as I've always loved all of that stuff. I guess I had too much on my hands with football and computer games! 😀

Nice work man 👍🏻 we done a very similar thing, all our ceiling is in sections so if any problems (which we did have) a section can be taken down and not the whole thing and our overhead cabinets /wardrobe are fixed to the walls 👍🏻. I was crying at the holesaw bit 🤣 it's always like that sods law. I said at the beginning great work what I ment to say is bloody brill ceiling one of the best I've seen sending love and cwtches 💙✌️

If you're still chipping away at the Portuguese lessons and haven't done so already check out Memrise, I've started using that alongside Duolingo and they compliment one another so well.

I've noticed I huff and puff more with older age! I've told you before I was particularly looking forward to the diesel heater install. I wanted to get a close up of tapping into the tank but unfortunately you said you were having a bit of a nightmare with it and forgot to film that bit! 😲
We fancied trying something a little different to the usual to be honest. Weight is pretty much always at the forefront with the decisions we make in the build. 🙂

Appreciate you watching me tackle this build! I'm trying to aim for a video every other week now that it's getting lighter and warmer in the UK but sometimes I get pulled away on to other things. I've built the bedframe and that will be my next video out by the end of the week. The order then as it stands in my head is the over cab storage followed by walls and window framing, then top cupboards and kitchen units. Probably a video or two on how I'm wiring it up and maybe a video on our gas and another for water. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and enjoy it then! I'll do a video on our maiden voyage and then make a decision on whether or not to carry on making the videos. All the best in NZ! My wife Scarlett's family has strong ties to Australia and we'd love to visit that part of the world one day AND check out where Lord of the Rings was filmed. 🙂👍

Hi mate, not see you for a while....snow dont help with us poor buggers who donyt have the luxury of being able to build our Van's in heated workshops! I've watched loads of vids on batoning and I've ended up with about 4 times as many than yours...think I got a bit carried away lol. What you gonna do with the useless space above the cab? I've tried 3mm ply, but trying to get a good fit is a nightmare and I'm concerned it will rattle, so think I may just use some sort of lining material? At least you will have something to read in bed! 👍 great vid by the way, shame your not local, I would give you a hand! Mick
Yeah, haven't felt much urgency to get out there in the cold with the weather and how the world is right now. We'll probably add a batten here and there when we start adding the furniture for additional fixing points. I thought about doing the same as you for the over the cab; ply it out and cover in carpet or failing that just carpet straight onto the foil there as that is attached with high temp adhesive anyway so shouldn't go anywhere. I'm undecided whether to close it off with a door or leave it open (Scarlett hasn't told me yet). Thanks again for watching and the kind offer of help! 🙂🍻
@@PilgrimPods after several hours messing about with the ply I have decided against it...just another thing to rattle and squeak! Thermal van liner high temp addisive and I'm gonna try Suade van liner, as used carpet before and it quickly bubbles. I've got some but it's not all directional stretchy as the carpet, so may be a bugger to fit? I wonder if there are other materials or coatings out there for covering the metal surfaces to prevent condensation??
@@michealgillman7418 no idea about other materials. I'll give it more thought closer to the time when I'm ready to tackle it. As for the fight against condensation, we'll be super mindful of it and try and ensure good ventilation at all times in the van. If we find ourselves fighting a losing battle I'll kindly ask Scarley to stop breathing or at least take fewer breaths!
@@PilgrimPods I find a pillow over the face is very effective at reducing condensation....hers not mine! What overhead locker design you using? Mels van world ones look very good and cheap! 👌
It's a Bosch Cordless Screwdriver which Scarlett bought for me a few years back. I had my doubts about it at the time but I can honestly say it's been really useful over the years. I've thrown a link in the description if you'd like to find out more about it. 🙂

@@peterludlow9847 the Boxer/Ducato/Relay MWB vans are the perfect sized campervan for us as they're only 5.4m long and wide enough to get a transverse bed in saving valuable space for other goodies.
Hi, the idea with the papered ceiling I love it, I was thinking of glueing with regular wallpaper. with which mixture did you use to prepare the ceiling panel to receive the glue and the paper and which glue using? could you give the discription which finishing varnish you would use for the wallpaper, I do not want the paper become old look, due the varnish it gets darker. How much did you use of the fluffy recycled plastic insulationrolls into the van? greetings.
The paste was mixed to the manufacturer's specifications and used to size the ceiling boards. Any decorators varnish will seal the paper and give a good protective finish. I think I used three bags of plastic bottle insulation for our van which is a MWB. 🙂👍

@@PilgrimPods Well, nothing like your dodo or petwool to find in that form, that what is proposed to us you can trow it right in to the bin. Armaflex doesn't come to my mind, I use instead xps and will upgrade it with Styropor and also aluminum bubblefoil. I already bought about 50mx1,25m bubblefoil. Back in the 1990 manufacturers used also Styropor. When I bought the 1993 Mobilhome in 2016, I got a big surpise in 2017, I was surprised that that thing still stood the roads; just look for my video about that mobilhome, I had allready my share. I was disgusted, because I paid then 7000€ and had to put an extra +/- 4500€ on material to get it road worthy and weathertight. I worked for about every weekend during 4 months, and had to drive up and down 220 kms to get there and back home. just lost money (But that is an other story). all those dodo fleece "sold out". Greetings.
