Great video, thanks! I always found the raw sound of the AR's analog engines a bit dull, but I once ran it through a vintage Urei 1176 stereo compressor in "all button mode" that I had for a while and the result was magical. So much beef and punch it blew me away.
The amount of incidental Toriyama art in your videos makes me so happy.

15:49 - RE: Disabled - RYTM allows for an optional sample to be layered per pad along with the analog drum. You'd "disable" the analog engine for a pad if you just wanted it to play the sample alone.

Love the Rytm. I got the mk.1 at launch. I was interested in black mk.2 but the price increase is steep for a paint job. I guess I’ll have to wait for them to hit the used market.

Wondering if you could turn the snare into a pad-like sound by increasing noise, low pass filtering and adding some LFO.
@@_EightySix lol fair. ugh, now I think of it it would be annoying to sample stereo pads and then they'd be converted to mono...
One day some might even try a Tempest :)
There are a few things of this review that I would love to clarity for the benefit of others.
1) The AR have more than just one snare engine. You have four of them. With the right synth settings and a healthy use of the filter, you can go pretty far designing a very fat, snappy snare. Totally possible.
2) The pair tracks is not like “is just gonna play one or the other”. The one on the right side of a given pair, is gonna have priority over the left side which is very useful for creating percussive patterns in which one sound choke the other.
3) Trig Conditions is a set with a lot of different variables. They are not there just to randomize or create variation. They could be used to creat a whole series of dictations that can involve all tracks within a single message. They can also be used to create very specific commands rather than just a difference in %.
4) Nothing Elektron is just about their engines. So making a video to just point out a fragment of what this machine is, is kinda disappointing.
I hope nobody buys this machine just for their analog engines. This machine is so ridiculously much than that.

Hmm that's a hard one.. depends on which version, the A4 MKii has the same phat bass as the Analog Keys. But that Bass from the RYTM is FAT!!
@@JAdeWii_ Thanks. And you play the Notes Chromatically, easily with an External Midi Keyboard (and not with the pads) ? From the demos i hear, the Dual VCO seems to sound maybe... more punchier and agressive, than the A4, even the Mlii...maybe somthing to do with the filters ...

The a4 is good 4 bases Like a instrument bass . I mean the guitar but bass lol. U Will get bored with just that dual.vco but is fat as she says

Anything from there analog series are great. Im not to much into the cheapy stuff.

I like the hardware but for 1699.00 this thing should have a Sd card slot, if I bought this I would only use my samples so 1gb of storage is just much too small.

If you're only gonna use samples, go for Octatrack or Digitakt, no? But I agree, i wish it had expandable storage.

Yo, that shit wasn't even worth the original price tag. Not saying it's not good. Bit it damn sure ain't no $1400 or $1600 worth of good. Even $1000 is pushing it

How is limited edition i mean tman and other companies in europe dont even carry the silver anymore. Rytm is shit. Shitty sound on an overhype no logic endless diving engine..mfb and jomox next to it make rytm sound like a 200 euro product ...
On a side note four has always been a better drum machine than rytm:p
