If he went through with it, MED would’ve determined the wounds weren’t accidental and IA would’ve gotten involved. Voight went too far ordering one of his own officers to use unnecessary excessive force on a suspect, especially one in custody or detainment.

To be fair, if I was a sergeant and one of my officers was in this same situation, I’d tell them the same thing. If You’re trying to save your child, no rules apply
I don’t think he actually wanted him to harm him, the threat of violence/torture is more effective than the real thing. He thought that it would elicit information.
The good old Chicago PD... I miss those days, the 5 first seasons were the best

Minor continuity error in the scene,
As the suspect leaves the building he turns around and fires a single shot at Anthonio. Seconds later Voight comes out and orders the man picking trash to leave the scene and run, clearly unfazed by the fact a gun was just fired a few yards from him.
