Hi Eric , i got three very old La Bat games, one of them is "D'Auerstaedt" and i was thinking of getting that to the table. I was looking around and found two rulesets for this system. The one that comes with the game you have presented here and the Marie luise ruleset. What do you think would better suit that old game? The old ruleset that is in the game, or one of the two new ones? Second question. Could you by any chance make a few videos explaining some of the rules. Some things are very different from other hex and counter wargames. Thanks.
Kent H Hi Kent, I was planning on making a video with recommendations of the various rule sets. The ML rules are nice and work well for solitaire play. You can find updated scenarios rules for playing these older games at www.labataille.us, under the Games tab.
I would love a video of how you do basic combat, charges, firing, close combat, as my first try I never quite understood this. I will try and do one myself at some point, finding an experienced player to explain is difficult!
Thanks, I am planning on making some "how to" play videos. I have been playing this series for along time, but even I get confused when something unusual happens and we can't figure out. I have found a forum on Consim World (talk.consimworld.com/WebX/?8@@.ee6c73b) that is a great source of information and helpful answers.
COA has sure cleaned this one up from the 1st edition release back in 1993 I believe. The map by Rick Barber looks great as always his work does. The counters are much better than the 1st edition also. Thanks for posting.
