I hated how they've made Hermione take all his lines despite her living just like Harry but less abusive with her Muggle parents until she found out she was a witch. Whist Ron always grew up with magic and not an idiot!
ron in the first movie was like ron in the books, strong, confidant and abit of an arrogant ***** but atleast he was a true protaganist but the movies after that made ron a comic relief
Plus your description of Ron as a third wheel is insulting. While not in the film the book version of The Chamber of Secrets has Snape holding them in his office after crashing Ron’s father’s flying Ford Anglia and saying “So, the the train isn’t good enough for the famous Harry Potter and his faithful sidekick Weasley. Wanted to arrive with a BANG, did we boys”?
I agree with you. One of my pet problems about the film series is that the main screen writer's clear lack of professional objectivity left several casualties, of which Ron was one. steve Cloves is on record in an interview with JKR, that he doesn't like Ron and that Hermione is one of his favourites. I hope that those writing the new series show a greater degree of professionalism in using and respecting someone else's characters and material. BTW, I do like that AI voice. Is it from Eleven Labs? Which one is it, please?
One example of Ron's loyalty and friendship that was utterly changed in the movies always strikes me. In the "Half Blood Prince", when Harry announces that he won't be coming back to Hogwarts, but will instead be going hunting Horcruxes, it is Ron who tells him he won't be going alone - that he and Hermione will be accompanying him on this dangerous quest. Meanwhile, in the Movie, Ron is silenced and in the background when Hermione says these lines... Personally, I believe that Steve Kloves, the scriptwriter for the movies, hated, not only Ron but the entire Weasley clan...
Isn't it also courage, when Ron in Chamber of Secrets, defies his fear, following Harry in the forbidden forest, in the spiders' den? Isn't that of some sort of bravery? He is a nervewrack of fear, sure, the fear is painted in his face, but he is still there, with Harry.

They literally made Hermione a godness know it all and Ron in the movies of course, comic relief.
Awesome as always thanks ❤ the movies portrayal of Ron is not good!
You do the best videos about Harry Potter, so we know so much about the story 😊

Book Ron is funny because of his dry, blunt, sarcastic sense of humor. Movie Ron is funny because of dumb moments.
