- One of the first video game stores that I visited when I was in New York City! Located around Time Square! This is the 3rd time I ever been to this store and the 1st time recorded for this channel! Hope you enjoy the tour of this inmense store, they have pretty much anything you are looking for... BUT AT AN EXPENSIVE COST XD Check it out and comment below your thoughts!

I noticed staff here have been very cold with the vibe being they are annoyed when asking for help or being fare with prices.
They actually did that to me last year when I was there when I asked them if they are able to trade in my friend's PS2 slim and they were kinda rude about it.
The African American guy that works there is rude af.
Yeah the staff there takes it as an insult if you suggest wanting to do any trade. They are barely nice when you pay cash for things
The staff in there piss me off just by looking at them. All got Punchable faces.
Yeah me and my friends call this store a museum, they have nice stuff but you can always buy practically everything there for half the price on Ebay
Yeah I fully agree, they may as well charge you a fee to go inside the store to see their museum of games xD But nah, I like the idea I can visit that video game museum for free lol
If I had a store in times square you can bet it'd be overpriced haha. The traffic they get must be insane
Yeah I am sure rich people and hardcore collectors sometimes would overpay for games here for sure xD

@@MagboGaming yeah I'll go to them and I still see all the merchandise sitting there nobody even supports GameStop no more everything is basically online anyway
I definitely agree that these smaller, independently owned stores can be a hit or miss in terms of quality, inventory, and/or price. Sometimes they're good in some aspects, but a lot of times prices can be more expensive; especially in big cities like NYC where rent is very high and the owner needs to consider that aspect. But if it's a rarer game, I would probably consider paying a little bit extra; especially if it's something I really wanted.
Yeah, there are always exceptions to the rule of games. I mean I spent $100 on Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on Wii last year and $70+ on Kirby's Air Ride but not often at all I ever spent over $100 on one game for sure.
@@MagboGaming the prices is always high there because it is a scam that's why it's just sitting there because nobody is stupid enough to buy all that merchandise for a very expensive price when they can get the same merchandise for cheaper price online period
@@ZamirMalachi6354 Totally agreed there. $120 for Kirby tilt n Tumble when you can get it for $60 online no problem.

Im convinced J + L just buys retro games to horde it away from people and spit in their face by putting a 100% tax in price. The owner i bet just has a lot of money to waste. I almost never go in there it just gets me upset that i want everything man the price Is soooo infuriating and they just dont give a f In there. The energy is too heavy in there. Like Devil energy vibes.
I know the feeling man. A lot of retro games withheld are just way to expensive these days beyond what we can afford. The capitalist retro collectors holds the most. I mean I hold a lot of games I enjoy too but at least I do not overcharge for games with the intention to rip them off like J&L games does...
Spent 80$ on NFS hot pursuit for ps4 trading them in aN64 complete all OG hook ups a tight blue controller a few game cube games ps1 games o a GameCube system complete as well I wanted 150 $ store credit they said no said a 100$ than they said no we just settle on that super expensive need for speed game I got waxed real good there great store tho
@@eddieofray3708 NFS Hot Pursuit for $80?!! wtf? xD That game is under $20 on eBay. J&L kinda ripped you off there. It sucks man. Yeah its a great store for sightseeing all their endless rosters of retros out there but not to buy anything there unless its new retail games. Btw did you check the other J&L rant video I did in this channel? I did it fairly recently. A few months ago in fact.

Yeah, certainly worth looking around and enjoying the stocks they have but they seriously need to work on more fair prices on most of the retro games. It's like 30-50% above eBay average prices lol. The recent releases are retail at least.
@@MagboGaming yea for sure was shocked when I saw the gba pokemon games whit no box and theh where all above 120$ have not even seen ridiculous prices like that on ebay

Why would you start a video telling everyone they are a rip off? They may be over priced but the location is very expensive for rent. Take that into consideration. Your lucky they let you film there. Your going to ruin it for other UA-camrs.
I see, the rent is the reason why they overpriced a lot of the games? Well me at least on the consumer side seeing that many of their retro games are far more expensive than videogamesnewyork, I questioned for a while why is that, its a personal criticism I have and just wish they priced a bit more fairly. But to be fair, I bought Pocky and Rocky Reshrined from them last year and it was priced fairly at retail at least. Perhaps I will do more research on understanding why they priced

no clue honestly, you will have to go there and find out for yourself but I bet they won't be cheap at all.
