I know you like to think that people don't really care about this stuff, but I think everyone really loves it - please do be sure to give us some insight into your new setup; especially wip of the process, that stuff is always interesting. Nearly everyone that watches your channel is a "setup nerd" so I think I speak for everyone when I say we look forward to seeing more! cheers and congrats on burb life
Yea well said. A lot of people also have the challenge of trying to make a small space efficient with so much of the gear we have. This helps give people ideas to make their set up even better.
This video is great. I think it shows that you can create amazing content without the need to have a dedicated huge space. It really demystifies the idea that people need to have the latest and greatest in order to commit and deliver great content. I have a newfound and deeper appreciation for your work and it makes me happy that you are moving into a bigger and more comfortable home because you really deserve it. Keep up the great work and all the best to you!
Love this video. I was actually hoping you did something like this before moving out. Thanks for sharing. I can't imagine going back to living in tiny apartments. I'm sure you're happy to be in a nice home now.
Neat video! So glad I could see it! I'm very happy you are with a wife who understands this is very important to you and doesn't try to make you give things up. Thanks for showing us where the wizard was! Too bad be wasn't there during the video! If I ever go to NYC, I'm going to see if I can find him! Rock on, Bob!
I really enjoyed this & I think most of your real fans will too! If you are comfortable with and enjoy doing vlogs you should consider doing more of them in the future :)
I ended up enjoying watching this quite a bit. It's always cool to see how other people setup their UA-cam/content making spaces. You're going to have so much space now you're going to feel like you're living inside a CD-i!
Thanks for showing us around in your old home/office. It’s always nice to see how people use their working/living spaces. And WOW definitely an amazing view!
You say this is small, but this is bigger than any space I ever lived in college! I love watching videos of people's space and collections. It is fun. Thanks for sharing!
I feel you! I also had to unpack my camera every time in my old place! I recently moved (but still have some boxes around) and having the space to have my microphone and camera always plugged in really helps and saves time!
People love seeing these behind the scenes videos, thanks for sharing! Love that access to the city and view! Thanks for making me feel so inefficient with the space in my decent-sized house XD.
I know it was over a year ago but thanks for the tour of your old place and showing us your awesome view. I could tell how much you loved it. Also great job working with all that stuff with the room you had! I would not have been smart enough to use it the way you did. And finally, the reason I wanted to comment in the first place, that picture you took with the boats is gorgeous!
I work at a hifi shop for a living, and noticed the NAD C316 box first thing when you switched to the shot of the living area. We sell tons of those little guys and they're pretty great! Thanks for the awesome content and website, man!
I'm so excited to hook that up! I've heard it's excellent for records, but I'm also super interested to see how it sounds with classic game consoles. I just need to shield the ELAC speakers before I test - The magnets mess with CRT's, so I need to tape those up with metal magnetic shielding tape first, then start testing.
Congrats on the move Bob! This video was interesting because I always see New York from the outside, but seeing inside the appartment is something much more rare!
That's a cool video to see behind the scene. The workspace are well organized. Congrats on the new place and would love to see your new setup working area there.
Nice surprise I could finally "open" (=watch) :) That SF photo is fantastic, apartment's view made me having tears in my eyes. Great usage of space, very efficient despite it is quite small. Others mentioned that rent is insane even if it is that small in NYC... I am living in the other side of the world, what "insane" means? 500? 1000? 5000$ a month? I have no idea, really.
Awesome. Thank you for this. Dude, even as a high profile and awesome content creater that likes to keep things real you're own space is something you were fully entitled to keep as yours. The fact you took the time and the risk to show us around is a total privilege and treat for us nerds and geeks that love to watch all your wicked content. Thank you dude. Definitely puts into perspective how much thought and hard work it took to produce the highest quality stuff you do. I hope everyone can treat this video with the love and respect it deserves. Can't wait for the next chapter of content coming from the 'burbs!!! 👊😎
From the videos I've seen before I thought you just had a dedicated room just for all your UA-cam/retro stuff. Not it being your living room, fair play That's good going
Amazing! I moved as well here in São Paulo (from one side of the city to the other) and this makes me think a lot about the old apartment... The things we miss and the things we have now that are better! Although it was very different: it was a mess 99% of the time, not just before moving :P like yours Edit: rephrasing
Holy jesus ... I never expected that the apartment is so small. But yeah its NYC and I'm used to the bigger apartments in bavaria :D. The view is really awesome, a view you would never get in germany on your balkony
You did such a amazing job organizing that space. Can't wait for the day you create a retro-retrorgb setup to replicate it in a corner of your room. xD
Well, I own a bass and sometimes I pick it up and hit the strings, but I wouldn't feel comfortable calling myself a bass player. LOL, I'm a guitarist who owns a bass. Rany's a REAL bassist though!
I have the same IRON and solder sucker...that Anesty was a great deal for what it does. I almost did the NYC thing, I looked at a few apartments, sized up what it would cost, and if I had a CAR (huge deal in NYC) and I decided to turn down a good job because I didn't find the appeal as most people do. I like to visit, plenty to do but, don't think I would ever live there. For what you can get out of the city for the same price, yea, no brainer, if you like STUFF.... And as you are doing now..
Holy crap dude, what an amazing location! I've only been to NYC once and it's my favorite place on the planet, would *love* to live in a place like that someday. That's a pretty roomy apartment for the city, right?
Were you accustomed to living in small apartments prior to this? Honestly, I've lived at my current place for so much longer than 2 years, and I still don't feel as though I've completely figured out the storage situation for such a small space. You seem to have managed that really well. Great video.
I'd lived in a studio apartment for a year right before this, which was about half the size of this place. So, I had some practice living in small spaces, but not with so much stuff. The trick is to get tall bookcases & shelves and use everything for storage :)
"I only got a good picture cause i took 1000 and 1 came out good" that is how photography is TBH . Even for professionals . you never see the hundreds of others they take that arent as good as the one that reached the headline on the article
LOL, yeah, but I feel guilty every time someone sees one of my other pictures and compliments it. I'm always like "look, if you hold down the shoot button, eventually ONE will look pro!" :)
as an European guy, I'm not that impressed by that concrete jungle ^^ P.S: somebody from the comments should come over and fix the air-extraction in your kitchen ^^ Love the giant BVM :O

Agree. Not just him but lots of UA-camr are like that too.

I love behind the scenes stuff. This video is a lot of fun. Thanks Bob and good luck at the new home.
and come get your darned D-Series! lol
Bob you're freaking awesome, keep doing what you're doing.
You are a man of efficiency. The soldering station setup is giving me ideas...
This was a trip. I can't even fathom that many people living in the same place. It'll be a slice of life you'll take with you into old age...wild.
I'm glad you uploaded this. It's cool to see how you organized everything.

Enjoyed the video, always appreciate your candidness and humility. Don’t worry about what other people think or negative feedback. Keep them coming.
Thanks so much for sharing, Bob. So great to see this from the other side of the world.

Rust in Peace and Return of Samus, two of the most influential things ever to me. You're awesome!

Thanks for sharing this Bob!

Thanks so much!!!

Thanks for sharing! Would be great to see a vlog of how the new place comes together.
Thank you for making all the videos.
Thanks for watching!
People love seeing these behind the scenes videos, thanks for sharing! Love that access to the city and view!
Thanks for making me feel so inefficient with the space in my decent-sized house XD.
Good I hate apartments. You're giving me flashbacks to my downtown Toronto apartment life days. I'm much happier now out in the burbs
Really enjoyed that, and congratulations on the move!
Looks like a neat and very functional setup. Thanks for sharing
Man, Voultar’s basement looks a lot roomier from the inside.
thought he had a shack
Dude that San Francisco photo is AWESOME
Thanks!

Fantastic video dude! Love the apartment :) all the best for your next adventure.
Thanks for sharing Bob, it was really interesting to see your old place 👍🏻👍🏻
You did well for such a constrained space. Hope you like your new home once you have time to get settled in and set up.
Great tour Bob! That's incredible how you managed to make all kind of video in a small appartement, I would never have guess. Well done! :)

I bet Bob has so much room for activities at the new place.
Thanks for sharing this.
I strive to also have an arcade cabinet in my dining room. What a view Rob! You were constantly playing tetris in this place.
Man, I wish I could be as efficient with space as you are!
You did such a amazing job organizing that space. Can't wait for the day you create a retro-retrorgb setup to replicate it in a corner of your room. xD
Nice apartment man amazing view to boot. Unfortunately my tokyo apartment doesn't have such a nice view but it is very convenient.
truly a functional new york apartment. goes for 3000 USD/month easily with that view and balcony
I didn't know you played bass too, mvg evidently does too. Bass players unite!
Well, I own a bass and sometimes I pick it up and hit the strings, but I wouldn't feel comfortable calling myself a bass player. LOL, I'm a guitarist who owns a bass. Rany's a REAL bassist though!

You're definitely not going to miss those NYC rent prices. I have family that doesn't live too far off from you and those rent prices are insane.
Agreed
Ah, the Complete X Files Collection a connoisseur I see
some of those fans above the stove do at least have a filter. But yeah, they don't do much.
Hope the new place has a bit more space
The office in my new place is as big as the entire main area in this place. And it's cheaper :)
@@RetroRGB Awesome! Hopefully you can do a new house tour too! Look forward to seeing some fun projects at the new place.
@@RetroRGB When you're all unpacked we would love to see the new area!
@@RetroRGB congrats man! lived in nyc for 12 years and space is hard to find
Why'd you move and how insane was your rent?
nice wine decanter you have there
Thanks! We have a fancy one that was passed down from grandparents...and some cheap plastic ones I got on Amazon :)
We're going to miss the yells and screams of people being murdered outside your old apartment. We will miss the sirens at least.
The thing above the stove has a filter, so you need to change those filters out:P At least it’s suppose to.
How’s the Minivan doing Bob?:)
8:22 joint ashtray
🤔🤔, I think I saw you once on the Starbucks in the corner.
Oh crap, really!? If you ever see me out that way again, please say hi! I always love meeting my fellow retro nerds! :)
Your apartment was a lot bigger than mine. Cheers! lol
Thank god you left that place. You need proper ventilation for bathroom and kitchen. Landlords are so cheap when it comes to fixing things in units.
That's criminal how NYC appart are so expensive for the occupied surface :o

Yup! That was right before I shipped it.
Cant go wrong with the dell optiplex. Buy an i5 one used for $150, put in another psu and a gpu and it'll play most games.

Cool
A BVM, huh?
7:03- Angry Video Game Nerd.
Haha… damn, my current apartment is about this size. Or smaller.
I gotta move too.
You have made rather good use of your space I do say.

On the windowsill I think I saw the official retrorgb doobie ash tray lol
That's actually a magnetic tray to hold screws...but thank you for suggesting a second use :)
Non-1%er NYC apartments are depressing
Hahahaha, I wouldn't go as far as "depressing", but it's certainly not going to be featured on any travel channel show :)
