To set alarm temperature range: Note: I've seen this alarm under the Healco and Sper brand names Note: If battery strength is too low, display may still work but you may not be able to adjust AL settings. 1) Press and hold AL until readout starts blinking. This activates *high* temp alarm setting mode. (2) Press and hold ADJ button on back of unit to cycle upward until you reach desired high temp. Unit will cycle up to about 150 degrees and then drop to -40 degrees or so and start cycling upward again. Let go of ADJ button when you get *close* to desired high temp. (3) Single press the ADJ button for finer control until you reach desired temp. (4) Press AL once to accept *high* temp setting It will then enter the *low* temp alarm setting mode. Then repeat process in step 2 & 3 above to set *low* temperature. Then press AL to accept that value. It exits to normal mode. (5) Press AL to enable/disable alarm (toggles alarm icon on/off). (6) TEST: Press AL to make sure alarm icon is showing. With probe *outside* your freezer wait for alarm to sound after just a few seconds. When it sounds press AL to disable alarm. Put probe inside freezer, allow probe to cool to freezer temp, then press AL to enable the alarm. You can check high and low alarm settings by repeating the above without involving the ADJ button. You should do this to assure you're seeing the proper high and low temps. It's easy to be fooled by the setting mode on this device.
who cares about the alarm. I just wanted a thermometer that tells you the temperature of a fridge ? but no no they've created this garbage. Personally i would have invented a thermometer that tells the temperature not wakes me up. What a completely worthless us less device.
so basically this isn't a thermometer at all. A thermometer is something that tells you the temperature ?which this particular device absolutely doesn't. Why would you not make one that simply just tells you the temperature when you plug it in ? surely that would make far more sense ? Plug it in and it tells you the temperature ?

If the display is on the outside of the fridge and the probe is on thw inside, should the display say outside?

To toggle alarm on and off press AL button. To power off the thermometer you have to pull the button battery.
