Define fast? I ride a 600cc and yes it is lightning fast in the right gear and revving the shit out of it. But doing a twisty road uphill and you come out of a corner 2nd or 3rd gear, power is not there. Definitely when you try to catch up some beefier bikes.
@jasongoodman4930 they're not slow but they're more of a pain to ride because they're gutless at low rev, hence why any manufacturer that makes a naked version detuned it. They're fine for a quick blast on good roads but spending a day on one is a pain.
Loved reading the matter of fact description that these things "belong on track anyway". Very true words, and nothing against owners of sports bikes. It's just a fact.
Ridden both on and off track for years now. Even rode on famous tracks in Germany, France and some others... I can tell you right now that the feels and overall sense of alertness and attention to detail of your every move on the bike, along with adrenaline and dopamine pump, that you get while riding ''MotoGP style'' on the streets is MUCH, MUCH higher and better than when you're riding on the track... Why do you think WRC, Dakar Rally and Isle of Man are the three most popular and most watched motorsports (outside of snobbish F1)?! Even Hill Climb racing is VERY popular in Europe. It's because all of these are done on public roadways, streets and through nature in case of WRC and Dakar... Even just being a spectator on one of these events, it's WAYYY more fun to go out on random streets, roads and paths and watch Isle of Man or WRC, than go to a MotoGP or Formula1 race and watch bikes or formulas go in circles in a purpose built track. It's just not the same... Not even close.
This was the last youtube I watched last night and helped me go to sleep. Not that it's boring - on the contrary, it's exciting, made me happy and that's what calmed me to sleep. hahaha

I second the opinion on supersports being exciting but safe. I own a MV Agusta Superveloce and its so incredibly exciting to ride and you feel so fast. But in reality you are not going all that fast. I rode out with fast friends one day (KTM SMT and Duke 690) and I barely managed to keep up, in fact I slowed them down a little bit. When I switched bikes with the SMT I was instantly faster despite having zero experience with it and was even scratching footpegs 1-2 times. The sense of speed is much lower so you ride faster with a "Adventure". I think its because you are upright, further away from the ground. Maybe its just me tough.
I owned a 701 Husqvarna once and could ride that quicker than my panigale v4. Only because the long travel, soft suspension soaked up all the road bumps and gave huge confidence and grip. On a fast, smooth racing circuit the 148hp/150mph Superveloce would blitz the 690 and smt 👍
@@drewiediggler1 Absolutely. We were riding trough bumpy woody country roads with many tight corners, not exactly supersport territory. Still hurt my pride a bit to not keep up with a duke 690, with a guy on it with less experience than me 😂
@@hauptmann25 ha yes I felt just the same with an adventure bike gliding effortlessly behind me as I bounced round tight, bumpy bends on my panigale with my eyeballs shaking out 🤣 I've never ridden the Duke but the 690 smc and husky 701 are absolute weapons on a public road. Your friend had an unfair advantage 😄

Which one of the two cbr's do you think is more fun for the road?
