I've wanted a full-up supersport since I was 16, finally pulled the trigger at 43. :) As an aside, both bikes have been available Stateside all the way through, though currently we still have the old-spec CBR 600RR (no confirmation as of yet we'll get the new one you have now).
Seems like they’re pushing off old the “old stock” of the last generation bikes onto the NA market because of less regulation and a wealthier market rather than try to rebuild all the ones they already made to the new spec. Hopefully we’ll get the updated bike for the 2026 model year

Fantastic video guys. You can get the Kawi in the classic old ZXR 750 colours and it looks amazing. Love the Honda as well but I would personally go with Kawi in the classic ZXR colour scheme. Brilliant. Next one please fella's.
I saw a german review. My german is not great but they did a track test. The Honda was 3/10 of a second faster but is asks a lot more of the rider (being in the correct gear) while the 636 because of the better midrange is easier to ride on track for most riders. The also said the Kawa suspension was a bit underdamped for track and that the Honda was a lot more precise on track.

Awesome! For something to have in the garage and just enjoy the hell out of it, 600’s are hard to beat. Great amount of power for the road and just sublime on track. My RR5 ‘blade is architecturally very very similar to the 600RR (essentially launched at the same time) and they’re both still better than 90% of riders. Looks like you had a fun day there… great stuff.
Love the video and format, awesome stuff guys. Had an 07 Zx6r as my first bike a decade ago and it was amazing. It was built like a tank, I assume it’s somewhere out there still running strong. Love everything about the new Zx6r, but do wish they went back their under-tail exhaust like the old models.
On my third bike, which is an 07 ZX6R - it’s looked after meticulously, putting out 104bhp at the wheel after 30k miles (claimed 109 from new) - very smooth, reliable bike, but then I think any bike can be if you just take care of it

The Honda is a stunning bike too, definitely showing its racing pedigree here and it sounds sublime when it gets on the power. It would be the Kwak for me all day long, though my poor back would only let me enjoy it an hour at a time 👍

Great comparison. The roll-on's tell a story. Good to see the manufactures bringing this sort of bike back. Now if Suzuki could bring back the gsxr750, please and thank you. :D
Love the Chopsy and Gregorio tests, great info and fun 👍🏻 I'm pretty sure the zx6r had it's gearing lowered, tests of it's top speed have dropped, but it accelerates slightly quicker, sounds like a gearing change. The Honda has a wonderful induction and engine noise !
I was really surprised how good the stock fuel mapping was on the kawasaki too! I bought a 2023 model right before the 24s came out, and it's easily the best bike I've ridden in terms of stock fuel mapping. Coming from yamahas that are notorious for bad fuel mapping though, but still haha. I just picked up a 24 MT10 that also has really good stock mapping, but that kawi just has that slight edge in smoothness on/off the throttle (my 636 has been tuned though)
I really enjoy these vid's with you fella's chatting while you ride. The responses feel very genuine. While I tend to gravitate towards a completely different style of bike to you guys, I've always had a fondness for the small transverse 4 cylinder engines. Hmmm, I wonder it's possible to shoehorn the Kawasaki' engine into something a little more of a sleeper shopping trolley type bike. Maybe a little bit Himalayan-esque 🤷🏻♂🤣
Brilliant review as always. I couldn’t pick my favourite.Due to your opinions.I think it’s just down to preference. Definitely looking forward to the blade and r1 comparison 👍
Good b2b review guys! It really comes down to personal preference. I test rode both on the same day and actually found the Honda to be more refined. The Kawasaki is raw, which was great though. It was a tough decision, but the bi-directional shifter on the Honda, plus the dealer offered me a cracking deal against my RS660, swung it. Why didn’t Kawasaki put a shifter/blipper on it??? Moving away from 1000cc sports bikes (that I have always had) to a middleweight I find these are soooo much better on the road. Great fun! You can’t really lose whichever one you go for.
Thanks John & Greg enjoyed that a lot, Looking forward to the Blade / R1 test, Don't get me wrong i do like a Blade i have an old 1, But it would not surprise me if the R1 is faster ? & ends up with your vote ? ATB Wayne...........👍
Great vid guys both bikes are awesome love a 600 screamer. Think you two need to both ride both bikes before you do comparison vid as you always seem to choose the bike you've had for a few weeks
Great vid, and 2 great bikes keeping the supersport class alive. Praying for a new gixer 750 in a range of stlyes (new supersport, 80/90's retro comfy faired and naked bike)
Great review! 2017,2018 5000 miles R6 still selling for £12k in Autotrader… crazy. I know it’s discontinued for road bike… still a lot of money for a used bike. Btw, I bought a Black 600rr and I had a 2012 636… I found the build quality on the 636 slightly better. CBR resell value is little bit better than 636 for sure.
I'm an older experienced rider. I wanted a 4 cylinder sport bike again but I didn't want the discomfort of the ZX6R. So I bought the ZX4RR and love it. I am happy that I didn't get the ZX6R. I have the money so I bought what I want.
Absolutely. A fuel gauge IS a necessity for a bike that 90% of us are going to ride in the street. Shame on Honda for adding a ton of tech, but neglecting the fuel gauge.
@@iamtheiceman You have a trip meter and reserve range display that kicks in from about 70km. It's not like I'm thrilled about the lack of a fuel gauge, but for a bike that's not marketed for touring, it's not the end of the world. It hasn't really caused me any issues in practice.
Well the reason the Honda does not have a fuel gauge is because the bike is a RR(Race Replica) of their award winning Supersport Racer. Race bikes don't have fuel gauges on them, don't need them. They don't go anywhere and are most always just a few miles from the starting line. Cheers.
Great review gents. Two very good looking bikes. I would personally choose the Honda as it is the complete package with the electronics and under-seat exhaust.👌 I had a new GSXR 600 SRAD many years ago and absolutely loved it. These two bikes are the polished refined versions of what we had in the 00’s. They look like Superbikes and I think they have the perfect amount of power to learn your craft on. Nice and relaxed under 6k revs and loads of excitement beyond. Plenty fast enough for the road with handling to match. They both look amazing! 😍 I’ll stick with the Street Triple though because I’m old! 😂
I’m on my first bike the ninja 500 se and loving it. One of these two will be my second bike but we don’t have the cbr in the states yet. Both look and sound great
Great vid. I'm now questioning if I want one lol. I also like the ZX4RR as you can have ZX6RR-esque thrills thrashing the absolute hell out of it at legal speeds.
I love this. What a great comparison. As soon as you get on a litre bike you’ll tell us the extra power is worth it. 😂 I actually really love the look of the Kawasaki, probably because my Dad had the much older version. The Honda has the finish and the electronics package and I’m sure the slightly better build quality. I’d be happy with either BUT I have a thing for the R1 so I’m waiting in anticipation for the full fat test! I remember you weren’t a big fan of that used KR replica R1 you rode previously. 🤔
CBR600RR looks way better. Black frame, black swingarm, undeseat exhaust, 10 spoke wheels, and the headlights, all look bad ass! Also, with the 600RR you get better suspension and that electronic steering dampener. Hondas are also ultra reliable, the easiest bikes to work on, and Hondas also crash the best (meaning compared to other bikes, they seem to get damage the least in a crash).
Love bikes with an under tail exhaust like the Honda!! Great review of these two! Good to see these bikes came with the factory equipped speedometer covers 😂
Great review, i commuted on a 06' VTR SP2 into London but gearing for traffic wasn't ideal if im honest with myself 😀 so i got a low mile 2002 CBR 600 F-Sport which i loved to bits but they bought in the congestion charge for pre 07' bikes ......so was fortunate to get one of the last of the last into the UK - CBR 600 RR'S in 2016 , still own it, love it to bits , was tempted by a new 2024 model but i love my Orange Repsol colours...as you say £10,500 , ( less that £500 more than my new bike n 2016), the Honda really is a great buy. i love mine i just cant bear to part with it for a new red or black one...
Ofc I'm biased because I ride the new 600RR but I really respect the ZX-6R. I don't mind the slightly lower power of the 600RR but the electronics really do it for me. It allows you to control so many aspects of the bike as well as it being super stable to ride on the road. At 6'5", I'm not really the target demographic for these bikes but it's been a blast and I didn't regret it yet by one bit. I could've gotten a Kawa but the price for what you're getting is not really worth it for me, compared to the Honda
Champagne content gents. Bring back the supersports, I'm getting one. Smooth as 4cyl goodness, and raspy deliciousness. Parallel twins, have an 890 ADV, and it's just not what I want in my sport bike. It just doesn't provide the same trouser stretching emotive.
looking to buy either one of these but I think the Ninja does it for me, just got a bit better styling and low down grunt, eg more fun, however it seems clear the CBR is still a beautiful bike with alot of thought put into it and its probably going to be more reliable and have a better resale value, but its the Ninja for me
Bit late to catch this UA-cam but been following Honda and Kawasaki decision to bring back he 4 cly screamer supersports bikes. Great decision I have always loved 600 cc supersports. My biking pals didn’t agree. No substitute for “ cubes”. Need to be in the right gear for every corner, at least 9k rpm but boy what a top end. Could keep up with litre bikes on a run no problem. Rarely ever passed them but they couldn’t get away. The new ZX6 is much lower geared than the CBR6 which makes it faster in most situations that you don’t need top speed. The Honda looks like excellent build quality. Difficult decision I would go for the ZX6 for more midrange and I do prefer throttle cables but that’s just me.
Been fortunate enough to have a go on the ZX6R for the last 48 hrs as a courtesy bike for my 765RS. Haven’t ridden the CBR600RR yet but really fell in love with the ZX6R. The 765RS is more comfortable though and has a bit more attitude than even the ZX6R, which surprised me, but they’re still great bikes and so involving, smooth and engaging to ride. They put a smile on your face and make you feel great, but goad you in to riding them like a sports bike 😂 Supersport 600’s might be dead, but long live the supersport 600’s. Interestingly, the ZX6R tuned is comparable with the same power as a tuned 765RS but the Kawasaki is a few kg heavier but at least has a 17 litre tank! Great review gents!
Hi ! Interesting point of view. I own a ST 660s A2 and once I get my A category Im thinking about either a 765 RS or one of these 2 supersports. What do you think could be the best ? I really want to have that supersport feeling, maybe a 765 moto 2, but its a naked so im really hesitant. Can't yet try any of them that's why I'm asking your opinion. Cheers mate
@@7Syber I have a 765RS cosmic yellow, tuned, 128bhp at the wheel and really liked the ZX6R!! I myself am wondering why I liked it so much… need to ride mine again as it’s very tempting to change but doesn’t make any sense to apart from the fairing and general Japanese sports bike involvement, inline 4 smoothness and feel. Always loved sports bikes I guess. The 765RS is better equipped, more comfy and has more midrange and attitude. I just have issues I think as I love my 765, but have fallen in love for possibly the wrong reasons 😂.
@@twistandgo3414That’s exactly my thought process, the 765 RS is overall a better bike if you don’t want or don’t enjoy supersports. The equipment on triumph is unmatched and the bike does well for track days and small road trips Having up and down shifter on my 660s I don’t know if I will miss it on the zx6r tho … Still really want to experience a real supersport after trying naked bikes
I prefer the new 2025 ZX6R colours/graphics; looks awesome. Or better still, there are still some 40th anniversary retro colour bikes for sale. I’m in negotiations with my wife……..😂
Thanks for the video! One question - how tall and how much do you weigh guys? Being a quite big guy myself I don't want to necessarily choose a big bike because I like these machines
I have the Honda and have just gave it a good break in around a track. You have to keep yourself pushed back in the seat to keep the bike properly balanced for corners otherwise it feels your sat too close to the front up against the tank. My899 just lets you hug the tank and you’re already perfectly centred for flinging a knee out. I hated the Honda when I first took it home and was massively disappointed but now after 1500 miles and 3 months of riding I can say it’s a weapon of a 600. The track day it performed incredibly and I only had the stock Dunlop roadsport 2 sports/touring tyres on.
Hold on fellas, let me get a cup of coffee; this will be interesting.

Nice vid again , the endless banter and laughing is so infectious 😂 can’t wait to pick up my new 1290R for a blast 💪
As a team you are just amazing 😉keep up the good work
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Great comparison. The roll-on's tell a story. Good to see the manufactures bringing this sort of bike back.
Now if Suzuki could bring back the gsxr750, please and thank you. :D
Before I settle in with my tea. I've been looking forward to this video.
And the right conclusion was reached (IMO).
Thanks chaps
Chopsy and Gregorio, name a more iconic duo 🖤🤟
Del Boy and Rodney.
U 2 are a hoot🦉 Add another bike to my dream collection (Honda). Well done boys 👊😎
I really like this concept of 2 riders doin the review.
I got into bikes originally on a ZX6R; thinking about getting another just for Sunday morning scratches. Would love to see a new Daytona 765 as well!
Twins are good for getting younger riders into the sport.
Kawasaki for me, why dont certain bikes have a fuel gauge ? Its such a necessity. Great video as always
Absolutely.
A fuel gauge IS a necessity for a bike that 90% of us are going to ride in the street.
Shame on Honda for adding a ton of tech, but neglecting the fuel gauge.
@@iamtheicemanright. There is literally no reason for that to be missing
@@iamtheiceman You have a trip meter and reserve range display that kicks in from about 70km. It's not like I'm thrilled about the lack of a fuel gauge, but for a bike that's not marketed for touring, it's not the end of the world. It hasn't really caused me any issues in practice.
@@iamtheicemanthe cold part is the Honda used to have a gas gauge lol.
I’ll stick with the Street Triple though because I’m old! 😂
I love these comparison reviews, great content
Just need a CF450 v Himalayan 450 V Triumph 400
Been waiting for this!
Great review lads. Kawasaki for me just pipped it but I wish they would added a blipper too. Hopefully on the next bike!
Been waiting for someone to do a zx6r v CBR-RR test too! Great stuff! MCN say the ZX6R is much thirstier, did you find that?
Love you buddy🎉
Just ordered this exact zx6 coming off this review... get it early January coming off 15 years of 1000s loads more fun and engagement 👍🏼👍🏼
You will love it! 👍
@ hope so mate blind perchance as there's no demo bikes 🤦♂️🤣
I’m on my first bike the ninja 500 se and loving it. One of these two will be my second bike but we don’t have the cbr in the states yet. Both look and sound great
Best review ever great work chopsy 👍 Kawasaki all the way 👏 big shout out from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 👍 🙌 😀
Great vid. I'm now questioning if I want one lol. I also like the ZX4RR as you can have ZX6RR-esque thrills thrashing the absolute hell out of it at legal speeds.
Couldn't agree more!
I laughed a LOT at the "SO are we offering any decent consumer advice here? or are we just..."
i like the fact the cbr still has the under tail exhaust but that tail looks too bulky and wide. Like a 90s 600
Great vid as always chops. Inspired me to go for bimble on my stock 2006 cbr600f, get some more kms on the new power6 😊
Good to meet you at the GP Chopsy...what a gent!
Hi Danny! Thanks buddy 👍
Definitely not in anyway shape or form
@Nosmoke2024 , yes. In EVERY WAY SHAPE and FORM what @ErichVonCartmann said was spot on.
Guys I’ve not seen the CBR in the flesh but on video the back end looks a bits dated - too long compared with new bikes. Is it so?
Great comparison video!
Love bikes with an under tail exhaust like the Honda!! Great review of these two! Good to see these bikes came with the factory equipped speedometer covers 😂
Bang for the buck great to see the super sports back in the UK.
Great review, i commuted on a 06' VTR SP2 into London but gearing for traffic wasn't ideal if im honest with myself 😀 so i got a low mile 2002 CBR 600 F-Sport which i loved to bits but they bought in the congestion charge for pre 07' bikes ......so was fortunate to get one of the last of the last into the UK - CBR 600 RR'S in 2016 , still own it,
love it to bits , was tempted by a new 2024 model but i love my Orange Repsol colours...as you say £10,500 , ( less that £500 more than my new bike n 2016), the Honda really is a great buy. i love mine i just cant bear to part with it for a new red or black one...
Congestion charge? Wth is that? Besides politicians finding more ways of taking more of the people’s money?
Ofc I'm biased because I ride the new 600RR but I really respect the ZX-6R. I don't mind the slightly lower power of the 600RR but the electronics really do it for me. It allows you to control so many aspects of the bike as well as it being super stable to ride on the road. At 6'5", I'm not really the target demographic for these bikes but it's been a blast and I didn't regret it yet by one bit. I could've gotten a Kawa but the price for what you're getting is not really worth it for me, compared to the Honda
Long live middleweight supersports! Now all we need is a euro 5 gsxr750 back in Europe (still sold in US and Japan) :)
Champagne content gents. Bring back the supersports, I'm getting one. Smooth as 4cyl goodness, and raspy deliciousness. Parallel twins, have an 890 ADV, and it's just not what I want in my sport bike. It just doesn't provide the same trouser stretching emotive.
Nice vid! I wish you'd take the ZX 4 RR for a spin. I have the 40:th anniversary version and it's a absolute hoot to ride!
Cheers!
I'm getting the Kwak next year, jumping up from a 390 ktm. So I can't wait 😊
So good to see a proper sportbike shootout thanks lads enjoyed that! Now Suzuki to bring back the GSXR 750 but with VVT 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁👍
looking to buy either one of these but I think the Ninja does it for me, just got a bit better styling and low down grunt, eg more fun, however it seems clear the CBR is still a beautiful bike with alot of thought put into it and its probably going to be more reliable and have a better resale value, but its the Ninja for me
Exhaust and reflash brings the Honda to life. 🤙
Honda thanks!!!
Saw the honda review and noticed the new kawasaki in the back ground. And this is why. 👍
What about the Aprilia RS 660? Brill video, love the banter.
Aprilia is not as SuperSport as these two. And the power on the Aprilia is less.
One just discarded the fuel gauge while the other just added for the new one!
These last few vid's have made me want to make the leap to my 1st sport bike. 🤔 The red one, because you got to rinse it. *As a 2nd bike.
Awesome comparison of these lovely bikes, lads 👌
Team 💚 for me.
After riding Kwakis since 1980, I don't want to change my favorite stealer ship 😁
They put a smile on your face and make you feel great, but goad you in to riding them like a sports bike 😂
Supersport 600’s might be dead, but long live the supersport 600’s.
The equipment on triumph is unmatched and the bike does well for track days and small road trips
Having up and down shifter on my 660s I don’t know if I will miss it on the zx6r tho … Still really want to experience a real supersport after trying naked bikes
I had a tuned zx6r....had MT10s etc since and I still swear that ninja was the fastest bike I've ever had😂 very usable power
@@Scouse.Malinois yeah, just so smooth too! Really quite addictive and intoxicating!
I prefer the new 2025 ZX6R colours/graphics; looks awesome. Or better still, there are still some 40th anniversary retro colour bikes for sale. I’m in negotiations with my wife……..😂
Best of luck buddy. 👍
I had a brief fling with a '05 Titanium. She was a beaut.
Thanks for the video! One question - how tall and how much do you weigh guys? Being a quite big guy myself I don't want to necessarily choose a big bike because I like these machines
Cbr for me as i already have a Kawasaki and looks wise i like the cbr and that under seat exhaust❤.
