This is an unexpected crossover! I started out watching Jester Bell's videos on the state of DC and Marvel, and her most recent vids hit the nail on the head and bring a lot of great perspective.

Please! Studios allow more creative freedom for directors! Give me a failed director’s vision over a safe-zone corporate least common denominator product, any day!

Commenting for the algorithm. Heard Disney’s ignoring marketing data that could’ve helped them make films people actually want to watch. Weird flex, since what even makes marketing data legit anyway? Like the guest said, it's all just educated guesses. But hey, going off her example, a movie about loneliness might actually hit with Gen Z, considering all the studies and UA-cam vids on the topic that keep getting views and mainstream media coverage.

It’s called the Marvel CINEMATIC (just films) Universe, and now they want to add TELEVISION shows?? Huh??
If they MUST, these shows should be a DIFFERENT universe.
Television (Marvel TELEVISION Universe) films (MCU), and animation should be SEPARATE universes: 3 separate universes.

That's how they used to do it and I prefer it

I disagree wbout having passionate creatives. Marvel tried that with phase four and it fell flat with the fan base. Taikia had 100% creative freedom with love and thunder, Zhao had creative freedom with eternals, coogler had creative freedom with wakanda forever, multiverse of madness was rewritten to specifically cater to the directing style of Sam Rami, etc.
And marvel can learn from dc that creative freedom to the director isn't necessarily good look at ww 1984 as an example

You make good points. I guess it has to be some kind of combination of creative vision and careful planning. Disney just doesn't have a handle on either right now I'm afraid

@@RachelsReviews so true. Did you hear about Disney's new announced strategy for Pixar? They are saying for the future of their Pixar films they are going to focus on "safe" sequels and the rumor going around is they are trying to reboot finding Nemo and the incredibles. Yikes.

As if the problem with their recent films is being original. It's not. The Brain Trust used to massage scripts until they were perfect. Now they are a mess even if still worthwhile. Disney 🤦‍♀️

I get what you’re saying but I think a healthy balance of creative freedom and management can be achieved. Personally I wish Sam Raimi didn’t get with marvel in the first place and just made an rrated body horror type movie. Zack Snyder is living proof of the need for creative freedom.

@@RachelsReviews yah hardcore Pixar fans are very upset. They feel Pixar was their best making original films like finding Nemo, monsters inc. Wall-E, Luca, etc. but it seems toy story 5 is what they have to look forward to at least until Disney feels comfortable with original films instead of sequels

I disagree about the first wonder woman film. I detest that film. Patty jenkins and the writer turned princess diana into clark kent/superman imo rather than keep her as ww

@@RachelsReviews I'm happy people love that film and it made wonder woman popular in pop culture. But as a male fan of ww, she deserves better as a character imo. She is just as cool as Batman and Superman but imo WB has just side lined her and even Superman to focus more on Batman :(

I just liked the combination of softness and strength they had for wonder woman. A lot of other female action movies forget the softer side

@@RachelsReviews I can definitely understand that. For me she was too naive again like superman/Clark Kent. The wonder woman I like is a fierce warrior who has fought Greek gods and monsters. She being horrified by ww 1 should not phase her. She has fought ares the Greek god of war countless times. I do like how the film did touch on her being a ruler tho and her criticizing the nation leaders for not fighting alongside their troops, that was fantastic! Thats the wonder woman I like. She like black panther or Dr doom is a royal ruler of her nation and criticizes man's world's governing. But her naive relationship with Steve and seemingly lack of understanding of the horrors of war just really upset me. That's superman imo. That's not the WW I like. But to each their own. I know a lot of people liked that version of ww which is cool
