- After spending a couple nights in Bangkok Gift and I head home. Once home, Gift and I talk about our wedding plans. Gift decided that she does want a Traditional Thai Wedding after all.

Married my high school sweetheart 62 years ago this July in a small chapel with only our parents, siblings, and pastor present. A wedding does not make a marrige. Make the day for you in what ever form you desire. If at the end of the day you're exhausted from happiness, then your wedding will be a success.

My Dear Gift and Joe, as someone who has been married more than once and as an older man who has sat though countless wedding ceremonies as a choir director in churches, and witnessed all different types of ceremonies, I only have one bit of advice for you. MAKE IT SPECIAL, and MAKE IT YOUR OWN! This is the formal joining together of you two and no-one else matters. Of course you want to involve others, family and friends, to celebrate with you, but don't be influenced by others telling you you must do this or that. Keep things in perspective and remember this is YOUR big day, and no-one else's. I am sure that you will be having a video made, so choose your music. which does not have to be traditional and can be something that means a lot to you both. Gift, don't worry about what you are going to say as there will always be someone to help you, the same applies to you Joe as I know that you can be quite emotional too.
The bottom line is this. You are two special people who love each other and want to commit your lives to each other for ever. What other people think or do is up to them, you do it your way! God bless you both as you make your plans together, with God's help you will conquer all your worries, fears and doubts and whatever date you choose is bound to be a day to remember. 😀❤🙏

Joe, Gift, "You do you," whatever your decision is, I'm sure things will work out Ta and I rented the RuenUrai thai in Bangrak,Bangkok for our wedding which included your choice of pallets, beer and ceremonial room for monks,private rooms for me,and private for Ta so that we're separated and can dress before the ceremony begins, also a reception hall that accommodates up to 120 people though we only had about 60 people. A stage for our dj, two lady singers and their band to perform. Parking for up to 40 vehicles plus more across the soi. We spent about 150,000 baht/ $5000 in 2017 . This is just to give you an idea of what you can look for in your area and Ruen Urai thai was very accommodating and professional. Gift I'm sending pics of Ta's( American)wedding dress she had made as well as some pics from our wedding so you can get some ideas for your theme and I'll email it to you guys ! Congrats and good luck cause ya gonna need it when planning 😅

That’s wonderful news about your wedding. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning and they convinced me to Asia. After dating a few Thai women, I’m fortunate to have found a wonderful Filipina in Japan. We were in Bangkok (same mall) and Pattaya in early June this year. We had a blast and I’ll be an annual trip for us.

Have good friends solve the silly problems that always turn up when planning a wedding, not the bride and groom .Here we have wedding planners which we pay for and are expensive, but also good close friends are angels from heaven when planning a wedding and they can take away all or most of the stress from the bride and groom. A wedding must be a very very happy experience from day 1. Plus like you said , you can cut corners and modify , after all it's your beautiful day. Don't let stupid, silly, grumpy people spoil your day or silly problems ❤❤

As for Gifts vows….one thing that helped my wife was to write down words and phrases that she was good at saying and weave the vow’s around only those words…then just put the speech on the phone, listen to it every day, and repeat!

It will be an international wedding so make it your own. There is no need for Western or Asian traditions. Big traditional weddings can be so stressful that they could ruin the joy that it's supposed to bring to the couple and their guests. Joe, I started watching you when you first appeared on Jonny's channel and before you met Gift. I am so honored to watch your Thailand journey before Gift and soon, I will see you marry Gift.

Gift don't stress about something old something new, something borrowed and something blue. Not everyone is doing that now, but in case you do you have something old or at least someone in Joe 😊 your dress will be something new borrowing jewelery is always a thing and the something blue can be as simple as one hidden blue flower in your bouquet or a blue gartar .Please don't everyone jump in on me for Joe comment.
