LUKAS Aquarell 1862 Overview

- I've been using my Lukas Aquarell 1862 Watercolors for over a year and have been loving it! I was recently sent the 48-color set, and couldn't wait to try all of the new colors.
P.S. Apologies for the inconsistency in lighting. I like to film sometimes during the day and leave my curtains open, so that's the reason for the inconsistency.
Let's see how the colors look, swatch, paint, and lift!

Super information and your videos are also very relaxing ❤ Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks so much for your kind comment!
I use black electrical tape or duct tape to cover the sharp edges. The tape is very sticky and has stayed on its place for years. Hope this helps!
Such a great tip! Thank you!
Thank you! Very helpful!
I only have a few tubes of the Lukas 1862 watercolors.
Permanent Yellow Light, Naples Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Magenta, Turquoise, Prussian Green, Viridian, Burnt Sienna, English Red Light and Ivory Black.
Even with just these few.. some are more used than others but I think the 24 ml tubes are a good value if you use specific colors a lot.
A few layers of tape will help with the sharp edges, or look for another one with rolled edges. Meeden also have one with rolled edges and I think White Nights also have tins for 24 full pan/ 48 half pans.
Thanks for your comment, Christine! I agree that just a handful of colors is really all you need! Even with my smaller set of 24 colors, there are some colors that I barely touch. :\ Thanks for the suggestion about the rolled edges!
@@AudreyRaDesign Schmincke tins also have the sharp edge, I use washi tape over those side edges to make them safer without adding bulk.
About the tin's sharp edges: I put a double layer of washi tape on them, or buy tins with rolled edges into which I place the pans. I too have found that the 48 half pan tins (Schmincke, Lukas, for example) do not always come with blunt edges compared to the 24 half-pan tins. Don't know why. My 48 Rembrandt had rolled edges.
Washi tape is a great solution! Thanks for your insight into the other brands, too!~
Sand edges with an emery board or coat with clear nail polish
That's a great tip, thank you!
