You are the only one who sees and feels the high quality. Many people think its not expensive , believe they must be worse. But they are much better than gimmick colors like Daniel Smith. But the old Lukas company is under the name of Saint Lukas , the holy man , who got the favourite protector of artists ! The philosophy of the company from Duesseldorf ( like Schmincke ) is an agreement with the church and the University of the town and says they will for ever produce highest quality for best price to support artists. Not like companies which only think about money. Van Gogh used oils from Lukas and said, these colours are the best I ever got, but it was difficult to get them in France long time ago.
You work with passion as I see , how you feel the colour and get nice swatches. Thanks for your work !!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your knowledge of Lukas Watercolors here on the comments. I appreciate them so much. I have read the company's website and all the history behind these beautiful watercolors. I was so very excited to be able to get them and swatch them.... see them for the first time. I love color, and these did not disappoint. I do love the fact that the company is named after Saint Lukas and patron of artist! When I read it on their website, and the history, I was blown away. I think their commitment to artists is clear and to the integrity of their colors. Thank you so much for your support and beautiful words for my videos. I receive them with love and appreciation! Thank you so very much and look forward to continue to see your comments in future videos! ♥ Thank you!

Oooh, Lukas is a new brand for me. I've seen them in the online stores I use, but I haven't tried any yet.
I fell for Roman Szmal (from Poland) about a year ago, and then tried some of Rósa Gallery (from Ukraine). Both are similar in quality, with perhaps Roman Szmal edging it for me. I've got a smaller number of paints by Maimeri Blu, an Italian paint manufacturer.
I'll watch this video, but I'll Lukas try to resist temptation to buy any... They are available in 24ml tubes, which is quite a bit more than the usual sizes.

Hi Mark! Glad to have done a swatch of colors you were not familiar with. These are quite good, but some colors are made with some mixes that make them to be less lightfast, although they do claim they have excellent lightfastness. I think you would love them, but perhaps you can finish up some of the ones you already have before investing in more! haha. All three brands you mention, I have had since the summer and those are in line for the next swatches. I cannot wait to try them. Can you imagine just how patient I have been so far??? lol, it's almost torture! ♥
