You did well! I think that it’s fine to cheat a little bit. Palettes are larger and don’t fit well into organizers anyway. Plus..you USE them so you shouldn’t get rid of them.

@@NeelouGoodarzi Oh yes. Definitely. I have been working on decluttering my wardrobe and makeup and nail polish as well. I am working on giving myself permission to get rid of things that I no longer use. I tend to keep things way beyond when they have ceased being useful to me.
Ugh, SAME. I keep stuff for way longer than I should. I’ve been decluttering my wardrobe like crazy throughout this year, too! Debating if I should do a video of what I decluttered from my wardrobe this year and what I think everyone should get rid of 🧐

Don’t forget- MAC recycles their plastic and glass containers (every 6 of any Mac containers you can bring them back to any counter and exchange it for a free lipstick of your choice) Incase you go thru your Mac lipstick quickly.

Neelou Goodarzi yes it’s such an easy way to get new lipsticks! I’ve just finished up my ABH soft glam palette- decluttering is so hard for me because I’m so attached to it all 😂😂

Yes, every now and then i try to declutter my Wardrobe, papers and make up. I just parted with some of my lipsticks and i feel much better ☺️👍🏼
Yaaas, proud of ya! It feels so relieving to get rid of stuff that’s just sitting around.
I'm such a minimalist with everything in my life. But makeup/skincare... Like kitchen wise. We have 1 set of dishes. So after every meal they have to be washed. Towels/bedding. Each bed has one extra set of sheets. And everyone gets 2towels. My kids clothes I'm not crazy about but I only have 3pairs of jeans. And a handful of shirts for each season. Yet my makeup alone fills a vanity. But I have limited to just things I'll use. No crazy amounts of foundation or concealer. My weakness is eyeshadow. I have 30palettes. Most minis. But still it's allot.
Wow, that's awesome! I feel you on the weakness. Mine is definitely lipsticks! This video is definitely part of my declutter journey to makeup minimalism lol. So will be doing a follow-up video in January where I'll probably declutter even more stuff. Have you decluttered anything recently?
@@NeelouGoodarzi actually yes. I did the month declutter challenge. And stopped counting when I got to 500. Most was just little bits. But we had a basket of "junk" in the bottom of our closet for a year. Then wemoved. From the time we confirmed we we're moving to moving was 11days. So naturally I got rid of more stuff I don't even realize we had. Now that we live in a small town I'm sure it won't be as bad. My biggest thing used to be decorations. Especially for our kids room. But now I'm super mindful about clutter.

great declutter! Happy to see you keep majority because you use it. Makeup waste is a big problem paired with over consumption so it was nice to see a normal collection with a normal declutter.

Finally a realistic de-clutter video that does not feel like a flex! This might be the most helpful declutter video so far!
I mean, don't get me wrong, but a lot of Makeup Declutter videos by major beauty gurus are often pretty disturbing to watch, especially when we look at the sheer amount of makeup that they have and discard. It's wasteful and often feels like a flex.
The pallet you got rid of is gorgeous. I was dying laughing when you decluttered your mauve items because that is my total color range, mauve, mauvey mauvish.

I use to dream about having tons of makeup, but after watching a lot of videos of makeup collections, decluttering and organization I have realized that it would the worst thing to do.
I just have one face and I don't like wearing it every single day, so I really enjoyed your video, I still sometimes feel sad whenever I see new collections launching and stuff, but I try to reassure myself that I don't need it.

I have a pretty big collection because I enjoy make up a lot (I do use everything I own, though and declutter everything I don't use, clean it if necessary and gift it to someone who will) but huge beauty guru collections are so overwhelming to watch. Your declutter was very calming and fun to watch!
I agree, even my own collection overwhelms me, so those giant youtube declutters make me crazy LOL. Have you decluttered anything specific recently?
@@NeelouGoodarzi I've been going through my stuff back and forth because I have some stuff I kept to give to a friend but i always forget😂 I mainly got rid of nail polish and some lip products but I decluttered other stuff here and there.

That blue eyeliner is absolutely STUNNING! I’m a sucker for colourful eyeliners 😹 wear a blue or purple eyeliner everyday in my waterline to make my eyes pop. Obsessed with them 😅

Congratulations on your declutter project! I downsized 3 years ago and the next step to decluttering is “no buy” challenge! Unless you finish up a product and have to replace it. The value you put in to what you spend on changes and the reward just feels amazing. Good luck!

I started “no buy” on 2017 for an entire year. Then I slowly buy makeup that I really need and want😊 I still have a minimal collection but I love everything on my kit!

Btw…some people feel the pressure that to be minimalistic, you have to declutter 90% of Your collection right off the bat.
No! First use up as much as you can, declutter slowly. Becoming minimalistic is a journey. It’s not „okay, Let’s throw all of this out and start fresh”. Nope! It’s actually a waste of product.

Yay for minimal makeup stash! Blushes and lipsticks are products I tend to hoard a lot of. Love that organizer; same one I keep my everyday makeup in. And yes, it's ok to "cheat" for not fitting those 2 palettes. If you love and use them, you shouldn't get rid of them. 💕
omg !! im finally unboxing my room (i moved in a yr ago😅) and now that 70% of it is put up and decluttered...i rly wanna fit my makeup all in 1 acrylic container!🙈

It is totally ok to keep the palettes bc when it does come to declutter it’s about the mindset. It is not about how many or less products you have, you have a minimalistic mindset und you want to use your products up, you have a good overview 👍🏻 in a few months when you use some of the products up, maybe you can fit your palettes in

I’m not at the level of decluttering that you are yet but I can see it happening in January. I’m just at the no-buy and uncomfortable looking at stuff stage. But I’m doing a closet remodel so everything will be scrutinized very soon. I have the Tarte palette you decluttered but haven’t used it in years...💡 🤔 It might be time to get rid of it 🙌🏽 Thanks for the inspo

Ooo, closet remodel sounds fabulous! I’ve been doing a low-level closet declutter all year long and really revamped some of my wardrobe this year. I was thinking of doing a video about it-would you be interested?

Neelou Goodarzi Definitely do that wardrobe revamp video! I like seeing people with actual opinions on clothes. My dogs are too hairy and messy for me to wear “nice” things on a regular basis (my German Shepherd gets too excited to keep his paws on the ground 🙄) so I enjoy living through others HA!
And yes, declutter remorse is not great but give yourself a month and you won’t miss it :) I purged some clothes and shoes during my last move and I was sad but now I can’t remember what they were 😆

Creating YT content has caused my makeup stash to EXPLODE and I sometimes feel powerless against the urge to keep adding new beautiful things. @@NeelouGoodarzi I am such a minimalist when it comes to makeup 😂😂😂😂 I have like 1 foundation, 2 eyeshadow palettes, 5 lip colours (stick and liquid included 😆) and one blush stick. I'm afraid if I declutter, I will have nothing left anymore 😂

haha, yes you did! I did a youtube video for them late last year and it looks like they're running it as an ad now. This declutter video is actually from 2019 too and I'm gonna film a new one this week where I literally get rid of like .... half of my stash lol
Nice video. I can live with just one lip color but I can not say the same about eyeshadows 😂 a 8 3/4 by 6 1/4 double magnetic palette with 70 round single eyeshadows. It looks like a normal book standing next to my makeup and I love it.

Im on a declutter journey as well. I still have some powders that i should just throw out. Ive been trying to use them up, but honestly i prefer translucent! I should just pull the trigger and toss them.

Neelou Goodarzi I am trying to find a friend who would be dark enough for the Becca Jaclyn Hill highlighters: champagne and Prosecco pop. I want to depot them from the palette. Not that they aren’t great but too peachy/gold for my taste.

I had a lot of stuff I wanted and after seeing all I have I surely don't need anything new for while... Off to do clothes next, aiming to start the new year in a less consumist mindset

Neelou Goodarzi I do small declutters throughout the year and pass the make up that’s still good onto my niece and the make up that I’ve had for awhile normally gets decluttered into the bin .

Actually, if you separated out all of the "project pan" items and/or the ones you're "just using up" you would've been able to fit the palettes and had room left over. Great job!

I think that considering you put things in the container that you know you wouldnt normally store there, keeping the 2 palettes is fair enough.

@@NeelouGoodarzi you're welcome :) I recently decluttered old liquid lipsticks that i kept around because i had spent too much money on them. Now they've separated and are nasty. I was tempted to keep them longer, tossing them was tough, but I don't miss them one bit now that they're gone.
Yup! I feel you! Especially with liquid lipsticks, I feel like they get nasty so quickly.

Thanks, Nina! I had to go back and check the video again to remember which rings I had on 😂 the two gold rings have been in the family for a long time and were given to me by my parents! The two sparkly rings I stacked are from Sugarfix by Baublebar (at Target). You might still find them on clearance! I got mine for like $6 each.

Ugh yeah, the cold weather really exacerbates injuries 😩 I will definitely try that brand! I’ve tried a few random CBD oils in the past (which have been meh), and the Lord Jones cbd oil which I like but is overpriced IMO. Will def check out your reco!

@@NeelouGoodarzi - been on a low buy for ages, except Ipsy with my teenager. I had decluttered multiple times before she started using my stuff @11 . She has a pretty sweet stash herself these days which I frequently go in and clear out anything shes used up or not using. Will probably do another sweep through before we start a channel too!

This collection in the before is not a lot at all compared to other videos I’ve seen. I have way more than this I have like 20 lippies and keep them in a cute box. But mine is a little collection and I use everything.

I have the, same, feeling fitting all, in, this acrilic organizers. Palletes, don't fit in ofc bc I have juvias place pallets so no, way, to fit
