No its not necessary. You can do anything. Some teachers would do chess or soccer or basketball, or a book club, or art. And you can help a teacher do their thing if you dont have one. Also that was very specific to the school i worked at. Every school does everything differently from eachother. Nothing is standardized they are all unique in how they operate

That sucks that you and your students still have to wear masks. I see in Thailand they are still making the faculty and students wear the mask in school as well. From what people are saying in Thailand they are emotionally drained from the mask. Hopefully the masks go away in 1 year and 3 months, when I will be graduating with my Bachelors Degree.

They do hire non native speakers but you usually make a little bit less salary. A TEFL certificate is required. I would recommend AVSE to get your certificate. Its where I did mine about 8 months ago - its located in Phnom Penh, you do the class with other people, in person, so you make friends. Then they line you up with a job as you complete the course. Best of all, its government accredited so its not one of those shady ones. - If you decide to Enrol, use my name as a referral : Thomas Dallan. And when you get here I will come to the orientation and give you $20 for putting my name down.

I dont have a degree either. You dont need one. You can easily save 200-300 a month after paying all your bills. And if you really budget hard you could save more. I find it sooo easy and stress free to live here. Rent is like $200 a month food is soo cheap
Hi Tom, really engaging videos. Absolutely brilliant. I have a question about how you find your resources for teaching and how you adapt lessons using the coursebooks given to you by the school? I have just finished the course but would like to know how to adapt classes from the school coursebooks as it's not something I've done yet but would benefit from a better understanding of it. Plus, the Ukulele was inspired!
One great way is to make power point slides. You can include audio and video links in the slides too. Along with practice examples and so on. This is only useful if your classroom is equipped with a computer and projector. Other than that you have to use your imagination and make up little games. The course book will include activities itself aswell to help eat up time. Also you can trade resources with the people you work with too. And if you google image search a grammar topic and also write worksheet, you can find free resources out there on google or youtube
That would be cool, but I think they don't let you film video inside of a Casino. Maybe I can still film around the outside and the front entrance. Its a big beautiful building

Teach between 4-to 7 classes a day, depending on the schedule. Some days will be lighter than others.
