Here’s another improvement for your Fischer pole. You can buy another cone from Fishing Specialties and put it on the pole down close to the transducer. That will allow you to bring the pole out of the water so you can move without the drag if you leave it in and not have to bring it into the kayak bringing all that water on the deck. I also put a scupper plug at the top of the pole to keep the wind from making a whistle sound on the tube.
Incredible job TJ. That really is truly a one man fishing machine. Looks beautiful, and I love the ideas you've shared with us. Can't wait to see you out for a full day of fishing, on the green machine! Feel better Bro! 🙏 🛶 🌊
Last January I got echomap Ultra 106sv & steady cast heading sensor then in February Cabela's had another special going. So I got lvs34 system. I'm combination I got all my electronics & my lithium battery for 2670.00+ tax with sales & coupon codes. That pole is actually made Fishing Specialties. Dugout bait & tackle also sells them, maybe they rebrand them with their name? I bought the kayak bow ducer directly from Fishing Specialties. Ive been running my transducer with fishing specialties pole with same H-rail mount. Been rock solid all year. Fishing Specialties also makes their own lvs34 transducer mount for the pole. It's way better than Garmin mount!!! Their mount is endlessly adjustable so you can adjust angle for forward or perspective mode. In different depths that adjuablity is important from my exsperiance. Highly recommend that transducer mount! You will have to buy it directly from Fishing Specialties though. I made my own plate under my hatch. You can buy sheets of polymer cut them to whatever you want. I also used that polymer to make my own steady cast trach mount. Put it on my left forward track plate.
That iPhone movement was smooth nice work man everything u have on ur hobie I wanna put on my kayak I’ve been planning for almost a year…it’s just getting the money to do it thanks for the inspiration
Hey TJ...nice to see you back at your passion. I've been preoccupied and haven't dropped by lately but want to Wish You and Yours a Belated Merry Christmas and...A Happy New Year 🎊
This is cool. I got my lvs 34 like s month ago and i been doing some trial and error, and my rig looks almost just like yours. Except i mounted the pole holder under the hrail so its like 1/2 inch lower, and i have my handle on the pole on the very last hole whick makes it deeper, but i couldnt hardly get the black ring on because back end of handle goes over top of the pole, but it still works great. But my pole is also right next to my seat. Maybe a hair furter forward. Instead of using ketchs mount, i found some Jeep light bar connectors…..thick metal made for putting on brushguards on jeeps. They have rubber inserts that mold to the hrail, you gotta clamp them down as hard as possible and it wont move, i didnt at first and my first time out the pole mount shifted a bit. But ever since its been rock solid. Ghetto ingenuity
Idk what size wire you yak power set up uses? But the lvs34 system should have at least 10awg marine grade wire for direct power for best results, screen clarity is affected by incoming power. I used 8 guage marine wire from my battery box in the back. Ran down into my haul up front to my hatch then to my lvs34 system, & split off to my ultra 106sv & steady cast with a bus bar mounted on my hatch plate. I keep my Ultra mounted on my H-rail with a C sized ram mount. It's super solid & keeps my screen close so I can reach it without moving & see very well. Not in my way for casting or netting but close so I don't have to move to change anything. Everyone has been putting the graphs all way up front for some reason. I does look good. But that's a decent distance from when you're back in your seat. You can't reach them without moving & if you do any split screens their gonna be small & pretty hard to see small details. I wouldn't want my screen any farther away & it's a 10". Besides my electronics I keep my rig as simple & light as possible so I can lift & load from my truck bed. Depending what lakes you go to you only have to pay if you have a trailer! No trailer you park& fish for free! I fish a lot so definitely saving me a ton of money...
Off-topic, but I see the under-seat storage has grey handles. Is it still a Dewalt or is it another brand? I like the grey better than the yellow on the Dewalt.
What did you use to secure the Piercy plate to the sail mast? I was thinking about using the roto mold paddle holders to hold mine but wanted to see what you used.
Great video and customizations. How do you have the down rod board attached to the rail ? I tried looking on the Dugout site but was unsuccessful. I'm looking for more stability for mine. Thanks again for the video.
My apologies TJ. I just went back over the video and found that explanation close to the beginning. It was the H rail Ketch plate mount. Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work.
With the Fisher mount, what size bolts did you use to attach the pole mount to the Ketch plate? I just ordered that plate to mount mine the same way rather than using the U bolt option.
Hey TJ, really enjoying your install videos on this Hobie. Currently acquiring things to rig out my new Hobie for the upcoming season. On your livescope, how do u switch to perspective mode? or don't you? I fish both shallow and deep so i wil be switching modes....do you have a link for an accessory that would allow this?
TJ, just spoke with Mariner-Sails, at some point they added a ram ball mount to the end of the pole that allows you to go between the 2 modes. Just an FYI, mine is on order, thank you
Just a fyi I thought this was funny I have the same cover for my transducer and I put my pole in the water and wasn’t getting any thing on screen lol transducer want scan through it took a minute to figure it out!!!

Thanks for the tips, I’ll definitely be doing that! Very good ideas!!

Thanks man! Will do!
Another great job TJ! A kayak fisherman’s dream.
Thanks man!
Net buddy makes a cable protector kit if you wanted to protect that short bit of cable coming off the fishing specialities pole
Thanks, I’ll check it out. that’s actually the Fischer pole 🤙🏼

Very clean set up ! Congrats ,looking forward to the vids

Welcome back! I appreciate that! Happy New Years!!!
Your videos are always done very well. This one is no exception. I still haven't decided on the ffs
Looks great TJ. I'm waiting for my 2024 Hobie PA14 360XR... can't wait to rig it up.
Heck Yeah! Can't wait to see it!
The build looks great! I have a very similar build but used Garmin 106 SV dual graphs and a 24v Xi3.

Curious about what battery you use to power your graphs and where it is located. Thanks
Hey T.J.,
Can you post a link for those Jeep gear straps? Or did I miss it somewhere? 😀
Off-topic, but I see the under-seat storage has grey handles. Is it still a Dewalt or is it another brand? I like the grey better than the yellow on the Dewalt.
Stay tuned for Monday’s episode, I cover that and more.. 👍🏼
I remember you mentioned about your xi3 remote cover awhile back. You had it costume. Where did you buy or costume from?
Can you reach the fish finder to mark waypoints with them being mounted on the crossbar?
Definitely 👍🏼
I am trying to figure out my stuff. I had active target forever but never installed on my kayak
Where did you get the block off plate for the 360 drive?
Do you still have the Dewalt tstak drawers under the seat or something else?
hey TJ, were are the tubes for the rods? did you remove them?
Yep, checkout last weeks video 👍🏼
Question… Is that fisher pole extendable? Want to know if I can use it on my Yak and Jon boat
What did you use to secure the Piercy plate to the sail mast? I was thinking about using the roto mold paddle holders to hold mine but wanted to see what you used.
I used a large zip tie underneath the black box. Drill two holes in the plate about an inch apart in the center. 👍🏼
Great video and customizations. How do you have the down rod board attached to the rail ? I tried looking on the Dugout site but was unsuccessful. I'm looking for more stability for mine. Thanks again for the video.
I think I went over how I did that on the video at some point. 👍🏼
My apologies TJ. I just went back over the video and found that explanation close to the beginning. It was the H rail Ketch plate mount. Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work.
How do you keep your kayak so clean???
How do you have the cord ran
Any interference from fins with transducer not being below them.
With the Fisher mount, what size bolts did you use to attach the pole mount to the Ketch plate? I just ordered that plate to mount mine the same way rather than using the U bolt option.
I’m not sure the size, the holes are tapped and you’ll need to find the correct bolts to fit it. I just happen to already have some that worked.
Do you think this could be done on a Hobie Outback?
Yep

On your livescope, how do u switch to perspective mode? or don't you? I fish both shallow and deep so i wil be switching modes....do you have a link for an accessory that would allow this?
I don’t currently have mine setup to switch it back and forth on the fly but there’s a few mounts out there that make it easy 🤙🏼
TJ, just spoke with Mariner-Sails, at some point they added a ram ball mount to the end of the pole that allows you to go between the 2 modes. Just an FYI, mine is on order, thank you
I can not find your 0 degree transducer mount in the links?
Just a fyi I thought this was funny I have the same cover for my transducer and I put my pole in the water and wasn’t getting any thing on screen lol transducer want scan through it took a minute to figure it out!!!
Why don’t you put it on your troll motor
Know way my name is tj as well and I have a hobie
Then you flip your kayak.😂
Hey how are you doing sir, awesome set up by the way!!!Are you able to use waypoints and gps between your garmin and xi3 trolling motor
