    I now have a Lowrance Elite FS fishfinder that does not fit under the hull of my kayak. I tried a Railblaza mount but it is too short & there is insufficient clearance between the kayak & the transducer arm. Also, the fit of the transducer to the bottom of the arm is not suitable & I used a workaround. Now I will make my own modelled on yours. That will do the job perfectly. Thanks for sharing a fantastic solution.🇦🇺🦘

    Thanks for this! I made one today paint is drying as I type this lol. The only thing I did not do is heat and flatten the pipe I simple cut the pipe in half near the bottom as to mount it that way. Have a lot of pipe left and may go back and do it that way but to keep it a bit more simple it will just be bolted to the “side” of the pipe for this time. Also I had a lot of cap head screws laying around so instead of using self tapping screws I pre drilled and ran the next size up cap head screw in the joints. Also in a pinch the t bolts I used are simple toilet bowl bolts and the work wonderfully and can be found about anywhere like Walmart or local hardware store. I have a “3 waters” built yak so have to use those rail adapters so the toilet bowl screw’s work great. I don’t even own a fish finder yet but this was a much much cheaper way to mount transducer than a store bought rail mount in the $65-$90 range! I’m going with a garmin striker 4 that’s $120 and couldn’t see paying over half that cost to just mount the transducer!

    • @PROAMOUTDOORS
      @PROAMOUTDOORS  11 місяців тому

      Thanks for the reply and comment. If I was you, I would flatten the PVC because that’s what makes it cut through the water so easy. But if you’re not using a trolling motor, don’t worry about it. It works great. Either way please share the video and I hope your subscriber. Thanks.

    Thanks so much for sharing you rail mounted transducer mount. I made one and it is so much more compact than any of the brand models. Was wondering since you have used it for a while, if you have made any mods to it making a good thing better. Am specifically interested in making the friction fit joints a bit more quite. Thanks for sharing!

    • @PROAMOUTDOORS
      @PROAMOUTDOORS  3 місяці тому

      Yes, I’m actually looking at making the friction fit joint. Better myself. I’m currently looking at remaking the video. And utilizing a stainless steel spring with a slip joint to pop in place in each direction. The concept is in my head and on paper. Just trying to work out the details before I make that video. In fact, I may be trying to get that concept patented or copyrighted to actually build and sell this product. Thanks I hope you share.

    • @PROAMOUTDOORS
      @PROAMOUTDOORS  Рік тому +5

      I flattened it So that it would split through the water easier. My buddies PVC pipe creates a wake through the water because it is round Slightly pulling the kayak that direction. This design slices through water like butter.

    When trolling against fast current, how does your mount not got pushed up? The screw part of the coupling would tighten and the transducer would get leveraged at an angle. I only ask bc I am having this same issue. The yak attack arm has the same issue and very flimsy ;(. Got an idea?

      Thanks for watching. Just to let you know all transducers have the joint that holds to your pole or mount towards The front of the transducer. So when you put it in the water that is the direction you should be moving. Also usually it has a little bit more of a pointed end so you can slice through the water a little easier. That is the front of the transducer. So with that you can see my transducer is actually moving forward the right direction. I hope this helps, thanks
