Thank you Dennis and Ben for this concise demonstration of the basic biodynamic principals, offered in only the way Dennnis can bring it! The depth of linguistics offered is always so revealing. This level of research offered continues to "distill" the work we are doing. "Book of the Moons" I am sure will be another treasured gem in my library category entitled - "Only Klocek!" When I listen to Dennis teach - I think of a comment I heard from Bruno Follodor during a beautiful 3 day intensive session entitled: More Humus, More Humanity. Bruno said, "When I first heard about biodynamics, I felt like someone was finallly telling me the truth." 🌱-alll is leaf. . .
Thank you Paula. I'm delighted we're still all able to benefit from his work, and perhaps this wisdom he offers can buoy biodynamics with increased vigor for future challenges. It's such a gift to the world. That session title, and that quote!*'*' Thank you for sharing! Both speaking truth. Ben
Just had a strong realization after watching some of these videos. That my healing journey has completely neglected the elementals in my own backyard, which may be why I'm stuck. My garden is shambles, its a total mess out here. Anything can do to remedy these things? Thanks so much for your work, it's very inspirational.
You might start by taking a look at this following video from Dennis that describes some of the ways he creates safe space for the elementals in his garden: ua-cam.com/video/lGWL8O41a_0/v-deo.html. Even ground hornets and wasps have their place. It's worth spending time just observing them to see what they role they are playing in the overall system. Every species, whether plant or animal is telling a story and if you can learn to listen to the land in the same way you have been listening to your own healing, it will tell you what it needs. That's even it's own form of healing. Maybe start a "sit-spot" practice. Once a day for 1--20 minutes, just sit in your backyard and observe the live there and your reaction to it.
@SoilSoulandSpirit thanks so much I actually just realized they're cicada killers and are harmless and potentially beneficial. But yea just doing clean up now and will begin to try to create a space of safety warmth and welcoming. Thanks so much again.
I'm very curious about all this. Wondering what the impact from things like bright security lights on at night, noises from airplanes and cars, chemical sprays along roadways, etc. have on biodynamic farming? I already think that the neighbors are disturbing the owls and other night creatures from helping balance the gardens, and feel like the ecosystem and gardens could really benefit from me learning about this and applying. This land is my passion, and my life! Man-made modern pressure comes fast and hard in many forms and I feel the need for a defense! This path of biodynamics and alchemy feels like something important from what I've looked into so far.
@cobococreek1224 You are right that those things impact the farm. Biodynamics does consider the 'being of the farm" and how those things impact it's members. You might also look into permaculture which considers external vectors through the "use edges and value the marginal" principle. Check out Dennis' book the Biodynamic Book of Moons for a good beginners guide to biodynamics: soilsoulandspirit.com/bookofmoons/
Great presentation, thank you Ben and Dennis. Is it possible to access the wheel you created showing the rotations with moons, planets, zodiac, elements, etc..?
@@SoilSoulandSpirit so appreciated. I feel lucky to have attended a few of dennis' presentations at bdanc January events in NorCal. Really grateful for all the insight and good advice 😊 and thanks for doing what you do Ben, your website looks amazing, as a father of a three year old, we'll be absorbing the resources you have offered and collected. Best wishes to you!
@@matthewdrewno7600 Thank you for your kind words, Matt. It's wonderful to hear from folks who get value from what we have put together. We have a whole slew of new videos that should be coming out soon. Dennis is hard at work filming lots of ongoing experiments and new preps. I'll post as soon as I can.
