    Hi, Mike..., Can you please break down the ( cost-of-living ) expenses for these foreign countries..., because that is what makes the foreign countries cheap. What makes up your ( cost-of-living ) expenses, ( e.g., rent, food, electricity and gas, internet with speed, cellphone, transportation, bus or cab, cable TV, safe drinking water, medical expenses, including dental, entertainment, haircut or salon including affordable restaurants, bars, and necessities, etc. ). * "WHAT DOES THE CHEAPEST COUNTRIES ( COST-OF-LIVING INCLUDE ? )" Without this important information per foreign country..., we are a little bit in the dark... Bali is a great place if you are comfortable in the water and a good free diver. spear fishing is a nice way to make more than a comfortable living while also not hurting the population of fish too harshly simply because you don't need much income to live and fish is a valuable resource there. 😀

    I hope to visit Belize again someday! It is incredibly gorgeous there. It offers lush rainforests, white sand beaches and turquoise blue waters . The people are incredibly friendly too. Thank you for this really interesting and original concept for a video. As for places to live, I have surprising number of friends that (independent of each other) decided to retire in Belize and a couple more who are just counting the months before they too, go there. Not sure if I could live in such a climate, but for the people who I know who love it there, it is apparently luxurious, the beaches are top notch and evidently there are many nude beaches as well. I suppose that if one were to live in such a hot and muggy climate, the ability to "let it all hang out" is one factor that could be near the top of the list.

    My wife and I found ourself in a position when we either transition ourself from 20K earned monthly income to 3K retirement benefits and as result pressured to move from Connecticut to some bible belt states just to survive or, as an alternative to select one of those affordable luxury countries. We actually very seriously explored and considered 10 countries from your list (Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador, Columbia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Greece, and Bulgaria) and finally we have selected Bulgaria (#3 on your list) and after living here for 16 months we are still happy with our choice. The place we live (Saints Constantine and Helena - Varna suburb) is very comparable to two places we lived before (San Diego, CA and Auckland, New Zealand) but is at least 5-times cheaper. There is no perfect place for everyone, and some things drives us crazy here, but if you want to continue drink premium wines, eat organic food, and live in a sea-view luxury apartment located 5 minutes walk from beautiful beaches with excellent infrastructure and super fast Internet you have to select one of the countries you talked about.

Also, supply and demand has increase the rental and sale prices, of late, and the weakening of the U.S. dollar has not helped.

Not to mention that his parent's upper middle class apartment had holes in the walls and the water would be spontaneously shut off for days.

    I have been in most of these countries you are mentioned and no way you live in luxury for the budget you are advertising, rather minimum survival but no luxury in anyways. If you want to live in more upscale and safe neighborhoods the budget is much more costlier. This is all based on minimum coast.

  • @rafalwyszkowski70
    @rafalwyszkowski70 Рік тому

    The title is quite misleading. For the monthly spend of $1000 please do not expect any type of “luxury”. I am intimately familiar with several countries on the list and $1K is sufficient for budget survival above the level of average local. To live comfortably I suggest one should triple that amount. I think the magic number for Europe is about $5K, Asia $4K, SA and South America $3K. Such a budget would deliver $7K lifestyle in US.

      @@ElicBehexan yeah I haven't lived in that area in 8 years, but it was being high then. At least in that area, you can work in Austin at one of the bigger corporations and live in one of the cheaper, surrounding areas. Here, it's expensive no matter what, including surrounding areas. Honestly though, it's getting ridiculous to live anywhere in America.

    Costa Rica is not an island. Costa Rica is part of Central America and is bordering Nicaragua on the north and Panama on the south. What Costa Rica does have, though, are several interesting, uninhabited islands for you to visit and explore, each with its own unique features.

    The benchmark for civilized societies is gay marriage. If a country gives equal rights to homosexuals that is a sign that foreigners and elderly folks will also be treated fairly.
    LUXURY LIVING IS WHERE THEY TREAT THEIR MINORITIES WITH DIGNITY.
    So from your list, the only countries with legal gay marriage are 23-Mexico, 22-South Africa, 16-Costa Rica, 11-Colombia, 9-Ecuador and 8-Chile. Looks like I've gotta brush up on my Spanish for my retirement.

    I have been for extended periods most of these countries ....half of them I would not seriously consider and the prices quoted here are very under true market value .. I would add an additional $400 - $ 500 monthly for a single person on most of them ... For example , having family in Egypt and spending part of the year there the real price for a normal NOT luxury life would be closer to $1200 a month ...

    When I was a child, the U.S. government would pay your cost of moving to country no. 25. Unfortunately, that ‘60s government program is no longer in effect, because it proved very unpopular.
    Oh, one more thing about that country - if you move there, be careful, because there are land mines all over. They were placed there as part of that same U.S. government program, and even though Washington ended the program, it left those mines.

    I guess the need to fill a list of 25 drove much of the content. I've been to many of these countries. Many are not "livable" by United States standards (surrounding poverty, crime, corruption, etc.). You're also playing fast and loose with the term "luxury". The numbers you gave might meet the middle class of that country. That country's middle class likely does not reflect US standards of middle class much less luxury. Some do. Your video has good entertainment content but misses the mark on being educational.
