I own a Lumos MIPS black because I ride in e-bike (VTC) and sometimes have to drive on roads (to reach bike paths and trails). It is light and fits well on all heads thanks to its wheel. In flash mode I recharge it every 3-4 races (~ 3x 50-80 km) because I only turn it on in flash mode on road and/or after sunset (only half the time or less ) because in the middle of the day it was hardly possible to see me. But knowing that motorists do not look at cyclists, I know I'm not immune to an accident. So in addition I spread the arm to turn and I stuck reflective strips on the outside of the arms, in the back and on the rim of the wheels +reflectors. We are never too careful. I use it standalone (without smartphone).
Just ordered mine and cant wait to get to get it.Was considering the Livall but decided id rather more focused on riding the bicycle and not be listening to music or talking on phone and id be too tempted to do both while riding bike.Besides when riding thats the one time id rather be unplugged.
Looking forward to the Livall comparison. I use a Sena X1 paired with my spouse's R1 and the walkie talkie function is a complete game changer. Am hoping Lumos incorporates this at some point, or Sena adds front and rear lights to theirs. Sena was also supposed to release an X1 Pro with a built in camera...not sure what happened to it. Finally, when is their going to be a helmet with walkie talkie function, lights front and rear, and front and rear camera?
Don't buy the Livall their customer service is awful.Bought the Lumos helmet and a week later I was involved in a bicycle accident which rendered my new helmet no longer safe to use.I was knocked unconscious. So for xmas I recieved the livall worked ok for 8 months then battery quit charging. Was told I'd have to ship it at my cost all the way back to China.Told them that was total BS.So my xmas gift was toast in less than a year.Read the reviews and all same complaint dealing with a battery that quits charging and last less than a year.
mipsprotection.com/ MIPS provides protection by shifting direct impact which significantly reduces the potential damage. A glancing impact versus a direct impact is a game changer for safety.
Hi, I just found you on UA-cam. By watching your review on this Lumos smart helmet, I think this helmet needs to go back on the drawing board! Am surprise you did not pick this out. By looking at the back, the turning lights are left or right. Let's say you are turning left, now turn the helmet around to the front. What do see? Take a good look at it! Do you see the light turning left or do you see it's turning right? The way I look at it this helmet in the front it's turning to the right not turning left! So when the driver in back of you see that you are turning left. The driver in the front see that you are turning right. But you are turning left not right.
This close to buying one but no visor to mount my mirror so no go. Livall has the visor but not nearly as good lighting. Too much to ask for a no-compromise helmet (other than cost)?
Many of us remove the visors right-off, so maybe they decided that it wasn't worth adding to the cost for something which will likely be removed immediately by many or most of us cyclists?
@@artoeloranta2810 Never had a stick-on stay on and the long zip tie ones vibrate distorting the view compared to the short visor mount. So I glued & zip tied with a rubber sandwich one that worked okay (still some vibration). But now I've popped off the visor of an old helmet and with some xacto knife work and a little tape have a fantastic solution. Totally blocks the low sun and holds the visor mounted mirror great with a great rear view.
hey bro , did you try to close those fitness tracking in setting ( strava and else ) , coz it's impossible for a LED to drained out the battery life that quick.
Eric Chew as mentioned in the review the helmet has a sensor that senses if you are stopping and then activates the break light. This is causing the battery drain
@@JRsReviews Well , make sense too . Wondering the latest badge solved the issue yet. Thus , it's hard for a 18650 battery to support 48 LED. Hopefully they work hard on increasing the cells/types of battery
I used the lumos app this morning but it looks it used my battery more. Before I left home, the app shows 82% battery and when I got to work only 32% left (40min, 14km ride) that's 50% usage, wow! I used the slow flashing mode on my helmet. Can someone pls confirm that the Lumos app makes my helmet battery drain more? If yes, I won't use the app anymore while riding. I will stick to my strava. Thanks.
I you don't pair your helmet with the app while riding , sure you can save up a few more % of battery life from draining down. But in other way means that you waste the braking light ( automatic warning light)feature. watch this video ( ua-cam.com/video/Yr-_sVi1qwg/v-deo.html ), you will know what im trying to say . Peace...

Does this helmet have built-in speakers to where you can listen to music
Everything works great!

What’s the difference between normal and mips version???

Why mirror to visor?
