Nice C4. Owned 4 and currently own a ‘96 along with 2 C5’s. C4’s provide a visceral go kart experience. They were the first world class sports cars and were responsible for future generations with improved performance and refinement. Enjoy and wave to other Corvettes on the road.
I have an 88' convertible that I've owned for many, many years and still a beautiful car and a lot of fun to drive. Amazing what a 245 HP corvette will do.
16K for a regular 89 C4 automatic coupe would have definitely qualified as grossly overpaying. But a black convertible six speed manual with low miles is a very rare and much desired car. I'd say you did just fine paying 16K for that beautiful car.
C5's are the better car but they're 20grand minimum here in Canada. C4's are the perfect entry level Corvette for those who want a nice one for under 15k
Im 55 and just bought my 1990 c4 for a great price of only $6200 with 136k miles on her. She runs awesome and looks great. She's in the shop right now getting a new starter and manifold gasket put on. I need to put a new top on and get all the weather stripping replaced but that's really the major things it needs. Im very excited to own a piece of American mucle car history. The only thing i wish it had was lower miles but Im overall very happy with mine.
I have an 89 myself with the six speed. Done the brakes, U joints, bushings, drives like a dream. I think you're gonna love that thing. Also dont use the steering wheel to help get in and out of the car, thats gonna save you around a grand later on, really fragile steering columns.
I was 39 in 2007 when I bought my '94. People have called it my midlife crisis car. I actually bought it, because the opportunity came up and everyone I have ever known that owned a Corvette absolutely LOVED it. They would tell me such adoring stories. They would say "I wish I still had that car". That's why I got one.
@@VroodenTheGreat I’m sure it is meaty my friend. I’ve settled into mine. If I had a clean slate I’d get another C4 generation. Thing always has me grinning
Im in Scottsdale and just picked up an absolute mint 1991 C4 w/19K on it. Car looks like it came off the show room. Car had been sitting for years and had the tank flushed and new fuel pump and filter. I just put in new injectors and the car runs perfect. What BLAST !!! Just sold my mint 1968 convertible and this car feel like Im in a Rolls Royce in comparison !!!!!! LoL
Imagine how ridiculous people look filming themselves from a passerby perspective. Having said that, congratulations on the get. Nice car. Love my ‘91 6sp. I think you did fine price wise. You got a clean 6sp, low low miles. Didn’t steal it but a very decent deal. I paid $13k for mine with 87k miles…not low miles but extremely clean 6sp. And was a car used for brochures and car shows by GM Med quasar blue. Last year of the L98 and first year of body update. C4’s are great cars.
Nice vid and sa-weeeeet ride! Congrats! My wife and I live in N. Central Phoenix and we picked up an '89, "arrest me red" C4 coupe, "LORVET the Corvette", in the Fall of 2022 also with 27K miles on her. She's an automatic, which my wife prefers (it's got a lock-up torque converter which helps), and is still a heck of a lot of fun! Have done quite a few minor mods to her that have improved the enjoyment factor and really woke up the L98 engine. If you're looking for a mechanic that has forgotten more about C4's than most folks will ever know, I highly recommend Danny over at Legends Luxury Auto in Tempe (on the border of Scottsdale and Tempe on Scottsdale Road not far from the Loop 202). Feel free to hit me up on the YooTooobs if you want to know what mods / upgrades I've done. BTW, if you find that it tends to stall out when idling down, replace the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve on the throttle body (35 years is a LONG time for an IAC valve). Will keep a lookout for you 'round town! Have fun and may King Jesus Christ bless and keep you!
Troy, brother. You helped me in time passed. I haven’t forgotten this. Have you noticed a change in your consciousness? I see you much more entangled in the 3 modes of material nature. This is what happens when we practice karma or Jnana yoga: we fall down from self realization. Fruitive action and mental speculation are not viable yoga paths, because they are not fixed in the absolute. Troy, brother, I ask that you please look into Bhakti yoga. We are not our body, we are spirit soul (eternal, immutable, unchanging). Qualitatively the same as God, but quantitatively we are infinitesimal. we are not here to enjoy our body, or mundane material life. Our body is temporary, our life here on earth is temporary, and our relationship to this knowledge is indicative of whether or not we come back to the material sky to repeat these same lessons.
Brother thank you, I have observed that perfection does not exist. I am living Bhakti in this modern time at the same time being a householder. No cave in the mountain this lifetime although that would be a luxury to check out. I AM on my path using the tools necessary to connect with the people and shift consciousness. It is the razors edge so good lookin out.
@@certifiedhealthnut we went to the actual clubs (bottled blonde, casa amigos) but we hit up bars too in old town Scottsdale. Patties was one of them. Forget the others. Fuck drinking tho! Getting back on the healthy life now!
6 speed hell yeah 👍 I’d rather have a 73 Ford pickup 4x4 ext cab. Looks like a fun AZ car…I live in West Salem Wisconsin need four wheel drive in winter
@@certifiedhealthnut Oh I know that. You mentioned the late 70's early 80's in your video. Your c4 has a TPI 350. They actually ran decent! My friend had an 89 Iroc with a 350 tuned port injected and I'd race him in my 1990 5.0 mustang. It was a blast. Enjoy! You deserve it Troy.
You're gonna LOVE that car. I bought a '94 seventeen years ago and it still runs like a top.
WOOOO! 89' Convertible owner here as well she spends her time in the garage, can't have the sun beating down on her right now.

Great deal man! Would love to see more content on the C4. My favorite car of all time. You motivated me to find one
Awesome! Let me know how it goes. We got more videos coming out as I bought my son a coupe with 21,000 miles on it
I just bought a 96 collectors edition it makes me very very happy
Almost bought a c4.
Pulled the trigger on a c5 last minute. Never regretted it. Just still want a 96 grand sport just because.

Absolutely love my 87. Love the concave back bumper and digital dash. I take it on back roads a lot and it excels on those types of roads.
