We recorded a walkthrough to show the filing process online, but too much stuff to blur out anyway due to personal data, so we decided to exclude that in the video instead. It defeats the purpose of the walkthrough given that most of the information is blurred out and nothing much can be shown! 😆 But if you guys are interested in that do let us know, we'll try our best to edit that and upload it later...
Based on our experience, yes po. Your salary will be deducted 30% for the next 6 months but as mentioned on our previous video depende po Eto sa company nyu kasi meron pong ibang company na hindi na dededuct ng 30%. I hope I answered your question po. Thanks for watching and sa support po.

Hi Debbie, thank you for leaving us a comment. Based on our experience pag tax clearance, once na make sure mo lang na na process mo before leaving Malaysia, tax refund would usually take 1 month bago e bank in sa bank acct na niregister mo sa Hasil acct mo. Now we’d like to check if nung nag process ka sa Hasil, pinasa mo ba lahat ng binigay ng company mo(EA form, PCB etc)? And pina fill out ka ba ng IN and OUT of form? Nag Bigay ba si Hasil sayu ng Acknowledgement slip after mo mag file? If yes, then you don’t need to worry hintay ka nlng pumasok sa bank acct mo yung refund.
hi, my scenario is: i am being taxed even if i am not physically relocated here yet in Malaysia last october 2023 while I work from home in the philippines and waiting also for the govt paperwork, is it correct that I will not get anything for this year tax relief? I know I am not resident yet but now hasil gave me a funny centavo for my income tax refund. I need help because the amount that I am anticipating is huge and i have emailed my HR together with hasil. I felt like I'm screwed up.
Still I am confused about the 30% tax deduction policy, if anyone comes to join the office in August and stay 182 days in Malaysia, after that this deducted amount will be refunded or not? And if six months or not completed in one years then?
Hi @NISARAHMEDPITESINDH, this depends on your company. Based on our experience 30% will only be deducted on the first 6 months from the time you started. Given the example you highlighted, the 6th month would be January 2024, some company will only have the tax deduction to 5 months only (until December 2023) but the calculation would be different just to cover the 6th month. Some company would deduct the last(6th month) on the exact month but that 1 month deduction would only be refunded next year 2025 as we only file 2024 tax on year 2025. The 5 months tax deductions would be refunded on 2024 as it falls on year 2023 tax filling. Again, this is depending on your company.
Sa case ko, I came to Malaysia in September 2019 and my company deducted the 30% tax until June 2020 but was refunded a huge amount in 2021. Fortunately, I don’t have to go through the process of document preparations as my company engaged a third party to work on taxation matters. Btw, dont forget to claim for tax relief i.e. laptop, phone, internet subscription, medical expenses, domestic tourism like hotel accomodation, etc. 😊
Hello po @renzamd2623, thanks for watching po and apologies for the late reply. Based on our experience, okay din naman po just make sure not more than 14 days.
Hello po. Thanks for subscribing. As far as we know, you should not be outside of Malaysia for 15 days above because if you will there might be a tendency that LHDN/Hasil will reset the counting of your resident status Kaya we always advise na huwag lumabas for the 1st 6 months.

Nakakataba ng puso seeing na nakakapagbigay kami ng information sa kapwa natin. Don’t confuse yourself po. What I’m going to give as a sample is based sa experience namin. Ang required na income tax ng Filipino expat is 6-8% depende Saan magfall Yung yearly income mo. Sa first 6 months 30% Yung tax deduction nyu but based sa experience namin narerefund as excess Yung 22% Nung 30% kaya sinasabi naming savings na rin Yung labas nun.
Hello, just wanted to check po sana - if first 6 months ang may 30% tax as non-resident, does it mean po ba na duing 7th month and mka stay ka na ng more than 182 days sa Msia is wla na tax na 30%? You will fall under the regular tax law already following the income tax bracket ng Malaysia? Kasi if continuous na 30% tax habang employed ka ng Malaysian company this is a very big chunk ng deduction. 😁 I hope to hear from you on this and thank you in advance.
Hello @krisssal, thanks for watching our video and for leaving a message/question. Sorry late reply na po. 30% is for 6 months lang po from your joining date after that residential tax rate na po. I hope I answer your question po. Salamat
hello, ask lang po paano po pag less than 6months lang sa malaysia, nag resign po kami 4months pa lang kami sa company, may makukuha pa din po ba kami na tax refund? naka pag file na po kami sa hasil.
Hello Dominic, thanks for watching our video po. Based on our experience, pag d nyu na complete yung 6 months na 30%, all deductions will be refunded back. To make sure na makakakuha kayu ng concrete answer, check with your HR and you can email Hasil as well. May binigay si Hasil na slip after nyu mag tax clearance and there would contact info there na pwede nyu v e follow up. Thanks po again sa support 🫶🏻
Hi AliRaza, after 6 months of 28-30% tax deduction, your company will automatically reduced your income tax to 6-8%(Usually this happens on your 7th month) Check with your HR as every company have different rules in terms of deducting income tax of their expat employees. Thank you
