@@TheMitchie21 sorry I dont wanna attack u or kyrgios, and I understand his anger for a mistake that was clear to him, but it was a misjudgment, nothing u can do about it, the umpire is doing his job even though he made a mistake. Ok to say that it was a mistake, but yelling and just acting offended gets him nowhere and doesnt make any sense, its not the umpire objective to offend him.
@@robinsoncruise2228 That's the thing though. He wasn't doing his job. His job is to overrule when you are 100% sure the ball was in or out. Even a blind man could tell this ball was out by about 15 cm and still the umpire overrules. That's not a mistake. That smells like an umpire that's corrupt.
My biggest problem with stuff like this is that they don't always have hawkeye and the fact that the supervisor who is nearby can check video footage of the point to check what happened but doesn't do it when he gets called onto court. The supervisor never over rules even when he should. That's why i think it's a great thing we have so many tournaments now that dropped line umpires because of covid.
We will still have incomptent umpires like murphy or Nour be part of the tour but they can't make blatent mistakes like this anymore

@@TheTororist I like F1 more than tennis. Nick is a bit sad but talented. I liked Agassi and I like DelPo and Federer. Djokovic is the best though. I like motorsport more than any other sport though. There is no "Kimi" in tennis, he is a unique sports figure and obviously one of the legends of his sport unlike Nick.

1st overrule was horrible, all the rest outside of the backhand down the line which was close seemed to be correct and weren’t even overrules they were calls made by the lines judges and he just confirmed he saw what they saw.
The 1st overrule was...AMAZING. I am curious to know what he said about himself after the match.

I do hope he continues to learn more mental toughness, though, because what the umpires get wrong doesn't affect the outcome of the game nearly as much as what it does to his head when they get it wrong. That guy has moments in every match of literally unbeatable tennis, and I want to see him achieve everything that level of talent deserves.
Watching frame by frame, the ball is blurry over the line on the first overrule so it's not definitive if it was really in or out. But I can't imagine it being so obvious that the umpire would overrule

Hate to say it, but I back the players pretty much every time. When you have human beings in charge of professional sports (and people have their livelihood at stake), leaving it to fallible humans, when there is hawk-eye available, seems like a cheapskate move. Use the technology. Ge, there are so many phones with cameras, surely a tournament can afford even a basic review system, if not the proper hawk eye.

I don't get how in more physical sports like basketball, swearing at the umpire is a offence that warrants a sending off, but in tennis, it's just warning, point penalty. Especially when the player does it repeatedly like Nick does here. There is voicing a disagreement and then there is straight out abuse of an official trying their best. Nobody deserves to be yelled at like that. How would you like it if your boss yelled at you at work if you made a mistake? How useful is that? And not like it justifies it, but Nick isn't even responsible for paying the umpire's salary. Just ridiculously bratty behaviour. Should have been disqualified the moment Nick described him as an idiot.
When I saw the first call, I thought it was obviously out. I still think it was, but if you set the video to 0.25x speed, it is actually quite a close call. I don't think the umpire should be flamed because of how close it actually was.
The problem is he's over-ruling the line judge who had a much better angle/view of the line. He shouldn't be over-ruling from the chair unless it is obvious.
You know, if an umpire makes a bad call, you can argue. But Kyrgios just always goes over the top. It's ridiculous.
just what i was thinking. Like he is not wrong in this situation but he lets his temper get the best of him rather than resolving matters in a civilized and respectful manner. Also one of the reasons why he hasn't reached the pinnacle of his potential. He is unable to deal with losses, not able to motivate himself to work harder in order to reach that next level.
Right? It doesnt make any sense to threaten to leave the court or to act offended as he acts, there is no room for that, it was a mistake that is passible to happen in the umpire line of work, the umpire held nothing against him.
