@@JoshuaRamsumair1980s oh yeah, I'd forgotten that one. Air Supply was huge in the late '70s and early '80s. That was "my music" and it's cool to know that I wasn't wrong in thinking these were great songs and a great time for music. Plus, I'm now listening to them on a deeper level and getting more out of it.
Nothin underrated about them ...they were HUGE?!! I WAS 12 -13 but clearly remember how popular they were. This whole "underrated" description by people that ONLY THINK THAT because they didn't experience their time of popularity is getting nauseating. They were HUGE..and all over the radio. They still are popular at weddings and Soft rock radio channels. So no, not underrated..not in the least. Jeez!!
This is one of many many songs by this group that are amazing. Making Love Out of Nothing At All, is an anthem, but Lost in Love, The One That You Love, Every Woman in The World, and Even the Nights are Better, are all amazing too. I cannot wait for you to explore them more.
Bars & Barebells Yacht Rock alert! They have just unknowingly opened the easy listening floodgates, to the likes of Ambrosia, Bread, Seals, Croft, Al Stewart. God help us 🙏 😆
To answer your question about how they got their name, I remember when they did an interview in the 1980s and the interviewer asked them about the origin of their name ... they said that they wanted to be a new breath of fresh air in the music industry, thus the name Air Supply...Russell Hitchcock has the high tenor voice of this group.... They are still touring today and sound just as good as ever... This is a good rabbit hole to go down if you wish to do that... They had such great songs... They were 1 of the better feel good groups of the 1980s s far as singing ballads.... I bought some of their cassette tapes back in the day... Great group and great reaction guys... See you on the next one... Keep Being Awesome !!!...
Jamaica here, Air Supply is one of my favourites since the 80s. Love them ❤❤❤❤. 'Making Love Out Of Nothing At All' is my fav song from them and one of my fav songs. This duo was extremely popular in Jamaica back in the day. They've also performed here.
This song was a massive hit. It was one of those songs you heard almost every time you turned on the radio. Air Supply itself had a good run lasting 3 or 4 years in America (longer overseas) and producing many hits.
All the songs they made are beautiful!, Do next these bangers: "Lost in love", "The one that you love", "Making love out of nothing at all", " I can't wait forever", "Even the nights are better", "Chances" , "Just as i am", "Sweet dream" & "Young love", & "Now & forever"
1979 was the beginning of my teenage years (13). I was mostly rock and pop. I had records and cassette tapes, even a couple of 8 tracks and some tapes were recorded from the radio, especially American Top 40 with Casey Kasem. Your program is bringing back many good memories hearing music I haven't heard in a long time. REO Speedwagon is a group I haven't thought of for awhile till now. "Take It On the Run", Roll with the Changes", "Don't Let Him Go", " Keep On Loving You", Should I Follow My Heart" and "Tough Guys", etc. Casey Kasem not only had a memorable radio voice but maybe an iconic radio voice. He also did several cartoon voice overs. I really enjoy your program. 😎👍
Great Band from AUZ.. Surprised you've never heard of them?? The song is known for vocalist Russell Hitchcock holding the final note for 16.2 seconds. This was the longest-held note for a male pop singer until 1983.
Yes. Another 70s soft rock/ pop, melodic harmony group. I believe this may have hit #1 on the pop charts. They had several hits. Lost in Love from the late 70s is good also. Their melodies and harmonies make their music light.
Bars & Barbells Yacht Rock alert! You have just unknowingly opened the easy listening floodgates, to the likes of Ambrosia, Bread, Seals, Croft, and Al Stewart 😆
Air Supply was huge in the 80’s, hit after hit and they are still selling out shows today. Try Lost in Love and Every Women in the World. Their voices are amazing.
Sounds familiar? This was the song in the opening scene of "Deadpool 2". It's been used in A LOT of movies and shows, most recently in the movie "Blue Beetle".
In school, most of the guys thought they were extremely “sappy”, but years later, a friend left a cassette of their greatest hits in my car, which I ended up playing over and over. Later, when I got a new car, I made sure to get the cd (along with Journey’s Greatest Hits). Saw them live at a casino in Oregon and it was an incredible show.
As an Aussie there has been some great bands over the years. Little River Band is a terrific one to look at with a lot of harmonic songs , maybe check out "The Night Owl" , "It's a long way there" and you'll see what they are about. They were huge in America.
It's amazing how bands that were once HUGE are just forgotten by radio. I live in Cleveland and 2 FM stations play "the hits from the 70's & 80's" but i NEVER hear Air Supply and Little River Band. I know there are others but my mind is blank right now.
Air Supply was always a guilty pleasure for me. They still tour. Saw some recent clips of them and they still sound great. The 2nd singer on this song (the higher tenor) is cover in tattoos now and looks more metal than most metal singers. 🤣
Another Australian band from Melbourne Australia. Good bunch of guys, they use to play at the pubs I hung out at… they were VERY big in their day, here, UK & US
my first cassettes were air supply and bonnie tyler. i adored air supply but people made fun lol. Making Love Out of Nothing at All is a top-tier song and showcases their stellar vocals. I actually just saw them performing with Sebastian Bach.. who knew all the words to their songs, surprisingly. it was truly awesome to see that merging of totally different genres. I guess there's an 80's theme cruise you can take and old 80's performers are doing the cruise nightly shows..
I love mellow but growing up I have heard and enjoyed all genres of songs. I am not even an American but so grateful we were raised and exposed to listening to music from around the world. Air supply is such a great band.
The first concert I took my daughter to, she was 2. She used to sing along with their music and loved their song "Making love out of nothing at all". Don't you know she fell asleep on my shoulder before that song-it was the encore if I recall and I could not get her to wake up. My sleeping toddler was down for the count-lol. This was around 1982.
Definitely check out more songs by Air Supply, folks!! They're one of the most popular groups from the 80s. My personal favorite is "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All"!! 👏👏👏👏✌️
IN the 80s sing pop balds, were kings, work with great songwriters, perfect combination between lyrics and two great voice, they are going to play in my city Tampico, in may, so still active till this days
"lost in love" original studio version IS A MUST! it's my favourite air supply song and the only one i'll still stop and listen to on the radio no matter what 😊❤
Great reaction guys!! Air Supply's Greatest Hits was that one album that all the rocker guys had in their collection for those nights you brought a lady home! They were kings of the ballad in the late 70's/early 80's! I'd highly recommend Making Love Out Of Nothing At All (written & arranged by Jim Steinman of Meat Loaf fame - it has his 'epic' sound), Sweet Dreams, Every Woman In The World, and The Power Of Love (could be done as a double reaction to the Jennifer Rush original!). Cheers!
I know this for a fact because back in the day.I was obsessed with this band. When you love someone I think they're music gave the Best representation of how I felt at the time. They are. Australian, I think they're out of melbourne australia. Thank you for bringing them back to a new generation. A lot of Memories memories are attached to their music for me.
July of this year, I'll see them for the 18th time. been a major fan since the summer 1980! in 1981/82 they did a concert in Hawaii broadcast on HBO. my daughter was born to that video in 1992! i told Russell Hitchcock in 1994 what i had done! he has been mentioning that in interviews since then and still does today! I'm known as Labor Room Linda to them now and amongst the Airheads, fans of Air Supply!
Yeah, guys, I definitely remember Air Supply as they were played on the radio so much. so much that after awhile sometimes people made fun of their lovey dovey style. Definitely a mood music band. I see on wiki they had 8 hits in the top ten, not surprising. Good reaction 👍
They had some great songs and there were some great bands in the late '70's - '80's with this same sound! Another great band was Little River Band with a bunch of hits as well! ''Lady'', ''Take It Easy On Me'' and ''Cool Change'' are just a few!
They've got a ton of great hits, but beyond this "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" and "Lost in Love" are my favorites.
Love “ ❤️ Lost in Love”
Making love out of nothing at all was my wedding dance song. Divorced but still a great song and memory
You guys should checkout even the nights are better

Air Supply had THE best love songs! Beautiful!
You couldn't get away from them in the 80s. Great songs. My favorite is "Lost in Love."
Making Love Out of Nothing at All is another gem by Air Supply, and was written by Jim Steinman, who has written so many of the Meat Loaf hits.
This was one of my favorite songs from the 80's. The guys were from Melbourne Australia
Honestly an underrated band. I LOVE Air Supply.
Yes I believe this

The kings of the pop rock ballad in the early eighties. I think they had something like 7 straight Top 5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
Bars & Barebells
Yacht Rock alert!
They have just unknowingly opened the easy listening floodgates, to the likes of Ambrosia, Bread, Seals, Croft, Al Stewart.
God help us 🙏 😆
70s
Bread was earlier I suppose, but they had hit after hit after hit. . .great ballads.

Thanks for the info!!!! 😊
They were beyond popular. Its like every station was playing this song on loop 😂
This song is played every day...to this day...on soft rock radio stations. It's one of those timeless songs.
Wow!!!! A classic!! Amazing! We had the best music 🎶 ❤
Jamaica here, Air Supply is one of my favourites since the 80s. Love them ❤❤❤❤. 'Making Love Out Of Nothing At All' is my fav song from them and one of my fav songs. This duo was extremely popular in Jamaica back in the day. They've also performed here.
80s ballads, one of the great ones.
I have been a fan of Air Supply since 1980 when I was 14 and I saw him in 1981 and 1982 at the Saegner theater in New Orleans they are from.Australia
This song was HUGE 🤣
Been in so many movies!

"Making Love Out of Nothing at All" is one of their best songs. It was featured in the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith".
Haha yep I love that part!
Growing up as a kid in the 80s they were my second favorite band of all time and I still love them❤❤❤
This was a song when you were a teenager and thought you were in love the are the best grew up with Aur Supply..love you guys ❤
Just another good '70s group you could sing to, we were fortunate to grow up with all the great '70s music...
This song was a massive hit. It was one of those songs you heard almost every time you turned on the radio. Air Supply itself had a good run lasting 3 or 4 years in America (longer overseas) and producing many hits.
Icons, legends, so so many great hits from this group.
Air Supply has always been a favorite of mine. Check out their “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” and see if you can guess who wrote it.
Every teenager in the ‘80s knew all the air supply songs
And preteen kids too

This song instantly transports me back to my high school years and first heartbreaks. Great group!
Always liked Air Supply’s songs.
They've got a bunch of great songs. Making Love Out of Nothing at All was a big hit in the US and Canada.
Keep up the great channel! :)
Not bad for an Australian Band.
I heard that they named themselves air supply because that's something we all need. 😊

I grew up on yacht rock. Next to the pool and the lake with my Aunts and Uncles. Great times.
Air Supply was huge in the 80’s, hit after hit and they are still selling out shows today. Try Lost in Love and Every Women in the World. Their voices are amazing.
I was a head banging teenager in the 80’s. Air Supply is a band guys like me loved but wouldn’t dare tell anyone lol
This song spent 4 weeks at #2 in the USA, so it was a huge hit.

Air Supply is a Australian Band, seen them live in concert in concord California at the Concord pavilion in 1984
Saw them in Reno in February and they still brought the house down. ❤❤❤
I got backstage to meet them in 1985!
Air Supply has a huge catalog of great music, they one a lot of awards and I have no idea how many top songs.

I love them since I was a teenager. I went to three of their concerts. They’re from Australia.

That have a wonderful catalog. I saw them in concert back in the day. Beautiful love songs
I just saw these guys live for the third time a couple of weeks ago. Amazingly their voices are still fantastic.
We saw Air Supply in Las Vegas Nevada in 2004 when they were older and they still sounded incredible.
Totally takes me back to my early teen years - radio, school dances, slow skates
Air Supply was hot in the 80s. Everyone new them. I saw them in concert around 2001 in Okinawa, Japan on an Air Force Base.
Beautiful harmonies and so many great hits. I loved them in my teen years and still love them.

I love this song.I don’t think the Band gets enough credit in Australia 🇦🇺
Always love them
