- Let's do a Side by Side Graphics Comparison of the Video Game Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories. Compare Frame Rate and Making of Compared between Playstation 2, Playstation Portable, Playstation 3, PC Gaming, PCSX2, and PPSSPP emulators. Get ready for this epic showdown of Console vs Console vs Gaming PC vs Handheld when I dive deep into the history of the Vice City Stories game and look at the Video game Frame by Frame. I will show you which version is the best. Usually, the PS2 is worst vs Xbox, but there is no Xbox here. So will the PS2 triumph? We will see. Also, let's see how this Mod for San Andreas that converts it to Vice City Stories will work.

VCS is the most underrated GTA game ever. A true gem. I'd love to get a proper pc version, or a Definitive Edition on both Stories.
Sometimes engine fails and bugged out some hilerious errors but agreed best PSP game imo.

In some ways they looked better than 3 and Vice City. I enjoyed seeing those settings done with san Andrea's like graphics. I think the character models look better than San Andrea's too.
@@TRACKSTARRR Except God Of War, Coded Arms, Crisis Core FF7, Parasite Eve 3, Gran Turismo, they look as good, if not, even better. I probably forget another one.
God Of War Chains Of Olympus i remember one part (close to the end) where it looks just like PS3-PS4 kind of graphics.
@@TRACKSTARRR If you play on real hardware instead of an emulator the graphics are more aprecciable imo.
I dont think too many Wii games look very good, maybe one of the last Wii games probably. Like i said before, i dont remember very well so i probably forget something, but i was so impressive with Chains Of Olympus, especially the last level. It still looks great.

This game is one of those gems of product that is ill-treated by its parent company . They removed it from online stores and never bothered to fix the music licensing issues that caused its removal

I gotta say this game probably has the greatest licensed soundtrack of any piece of media ever released. I genuinely feel that it is a step above Vice City's soundtrack, and we all know how good that was.
in theory it would be nice to have remastered versions of LCS & VCS, but in reality they'd probably just have censorship and a bunch of missing music

However, VCS amount of licensed music is only behind VC (even greater than SA) and also Phil Collin's concert, worst sale of all GTA 3D make the chance to make it appear on other platform is almost 0%

Some engine and explosion sounds were changed when it was ported to PS2.
I played it on my psp back in the day and it was so good
PSA: If you are playing it with emulators 60 FPS, very early mission "Boomshine Blowout" becomes impossible because timer in the mission goes twice as fast! Set it back to 30 FPS for that mission.
The same thing applies to "Hose the hose" mission as well.
Nice vid as always. Loved the PSP version, probably my sencond favorite GTA game (after VC). Vic Vance was also my favorite character.
You can remove the blur effect, in the settings, on the ps2 version.

PPSSPP with widescreen fix is even better and runs smoother than PCSX2 for some reason..
I would assume that maybe due to the rendering load. VCS on PSP loads far less assets and vehicles in at any given time than the PS2 does but theoretically on any modern PC or the Steam Deck that really shouldn't be an issue for either system. May just be a quirk.

I remember getting this game on the ps2 without actually finishing vice city and my friends were telling me they played as an Italian guy with a Hawaiian shirt I was quite confused until I realized they were talking about vice city which it was my second gta game that I had but never finished it
Vice city stories is my favorite gta for me the original vice city game also i never finished the original vice city maybe i finish now the remastered version
PSP has better colors, PS2 has higher quality models and textures, the ultimate version is the PSP iso modded with PS2 assets that's available over at CDromance.

It's always hard for me to tell which GTA I like better between GTA IV and GTA VCS. I grew up with VCS, and love every aspects of the game. And IV has that brilliant story, a great feeling, and realism.

The enhanced clutter was what sold me on the ps2 version.
Vice city was one of the coolest experiences on the psp, a little frustrating at times, but absolutely mind blowing the psp could run this!
Legit, I remember this game vividly not just for it's performance but it's ambition like sporting those mechanics from San Andreas with even less horse power. The PSP has balls.

Another way to play this game is via PSTV especially modded one with sharpscale plugin. That plugin 4x integer scales to 1088 resolution and crops top 4 and bottom 4 pixels looks quite good. Especially with another right analog mod that adds proper camera controls.
GTA vice city stories probably only sold 4.5 million copies because everyone pirated games on PSP. It's one of the reasons why over 81 million PSP's were sold, but even the best sold game: GTA liberty city stories, only sold 8 million copies
The original ps2 version is in my opinion the best. The game just doesn't feel the same when it's very sharp and it isn't made in mind with it anyways. I also really like the orange atmosphere, (that was also present in the ps2 version of gta sa) in the ps2 version of gta vcs.

I loved this game.. For me gta vice city was the best gta game because back in the day when it came out i was a child and i play sick to stay at home for school to play gta vc.. Gta sa is great too but gta vc is my favorite because when i see this game memories popping up in my head.. Its so nostalgic.. I am so glad that rockstar remaster those games of the 3d era

Vice City Stories ran at a playable frame rate on PS2 unlike Liberty City Stories.

Hey Rooker, just watched your republic commando comparison video. Maybe you could do Jedi Academy, Microsoft Xbox VS PS2 vs Windows and look at the lightsabers, blasters, and the marks the sabers leave on the walls. I noticed a huge difference from Xbox and Windows
I have one of the now rare backwards compatible PS3's to play the PS2 version of this game on.
I bought VCS digitally for PS3 sometime in 2018. They must've removed it afterwards
@@rocknroll_jezus9233 Yeah but your way better off having either a physical PS2 copy of the game or playing it on the PCSX2 emulator on a computer by the looks of how bad the emulation was for the digital version on PS3 as shown in the video and I say it's best done playing the original PS2 copy of the game on the older fully backwards compatible PS3 console. Hopefully if the trilogy Definitive Edition does well maybe just maybe they do the Stories Collection Definitive Edition with this game and Liberty City Stories. It'll be awesome however if Vic's character in the Vice City Definitive Edition is updated to look like he does in this game.

Like To Remind You Guys For Those Who Don't Know, *GTA : RE VCS* Is A Port Of GTA Vcs For The Pc And _It's Lighter To Run Than PPSSPP_
( I Already It Tested With My Old Low End Pc From 2015 And It's Suprisingly Smooth With Slight Framedrop, The Only Time It Had A Problem Running It Is When There Is Too Many Stuff On Screen )

Wait, did they downgrade the red atmosphere in some times of day in the PS2 version? It looked like PSP version had more variations and looked way more vibrant and appealing.

you can also use a mod in ppsspp using cheats function to make 2nd analog stick functional to control camera & even a 5hitty PC can run the PPSSPP version in 3x resolution with anti aliasing so yeah ppsspp version is the best one

to me gta vcs is best played on ppsspp since the graphic is more clearer and it runs more smoother.
And there's a custom PPSSPP some people that makes hud HD and adds right stick controls

This is the GTA I played the most and even today the PSP more colorful look is the one I prefer over other versions and like you said, once you add those cheats to use the right analog for the camera, R2 and L2, with HD textures for the UI, it's the best version to play on big displays, by far. Something similar happens for Tony Hawk's 8, the PSP version looks great, the PS2 is better, higher res textures, better models, better draw distances, etc and is just as colorful, where the PS3 version probably runs on unreal engine and it just looks so dull because of it.
PS: With a modded PSP you could force the CPU to always run at 333mhz and it did play this and other games so much smoother, the battery life was drastically reduced, but I didn't care.

To be honest when i played on my PSP in the past i didn't have GTA , i first played the portable games on the Psvita but i must say after replaying the same games on the PSP it can still hold up well the PSVita just runs it more smooth , i think its with most PSP games ran on PSVITA tho because i had the same Experience with games Like Assassins Creed Bloodlines , Midnight Club LA Remix and Daxter
